8th Pay Commission Latest Update: The Central Government has taken a big decision regarding the 8th Pay Commission. The government has extended the last date for submission of memorandum (suggestion paper) to the Commission to 31 May 2026. This decision of the government has brought relief to lakhs of central employees, pensioners and employee organizations, who have now got some more time to prepare their demands and suggestions. Earlier this deadline was fixed as 30 April 2026.

The commission itself gave information
This information has been given by the Commission a day before the last date. After this decision, it is written on the official website of the Eighth Pay Commission, ‘The last date for submitting response is May 31, 2026 (Sunday). All responses will be submitted through the link given above only. Paper copy/hard copy/PDF/email of the memorandum will not be accepted by the Commission.

Why was the deadline extended?
The government has decided to extend the deadline because many employee organizations and unions were demanding it. He said that more time is needed to prepare detailed memorandum related to salary, allowances and service conditions. Only after this, the government has decided to extend this deadline by one month, so that all the parties can present their views in a better way before the Commission.

Apart from this, the Pay Commission is holding talks with different employee unions and organizations in Delhi from 28 to 30 April. Yesterday, it held a meeting with the National Joint Consultative Council (NCJCM) (staff side) to understand their demands and proposed suggestions and subsequently the deadline has been extended today.

Let us tell you that at present a three-day meeting of the Eighth Pay Commission is going on. This meeting has started from today itself. Many important decisions will be taken in the meeting regarding issues related to employees and 8th pay scale.
