Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has made a scathing attack on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Kerala CM had criticized the encroachment action in Bengaluru. Shivkumar has said that senior leaders should not interfere in any matter without knowing the ground reality.

Karnataka’s Deputy CM called the comment unfortunate

During discussion with the media, Shivkumar termed such criticism as unfortunate. He said that leaders from outside the state will have to understand the reality of Bengaluru while making any kind of statements. Action was taken on this land to save public property. It was not our intention to target any particular community.

Land mafia tried to convert it into a colony

Giving a statement on the encroachment action, Shivkumar said that this place was a garbage dumping site. An attempt was made to convert it into a slum. We have asked people to migrate to new places. Some of them are also local people. The government is trying to protect public space. He said that we do not believe in running bulldozers. He has also appealed to the Kerala CM not to comment without information. We cannot promote slums. This helps in expanding the land mafia.

Kerala CM had posted on social media

Actually, Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan had made a Facebook post. In this he strongly criticized the vandalism in Fakir Colony and Wasim Layout in Bengaluru. He had described this action as very shocking. He linked this action to the Muslim community. He alleged that Muslims have been living in these areas for years. Accused the Karnataka government of adopting the North Indian bulldozer justice model.

Bihar’s opposition alliance party India Alliance has announced its chief ministerial candidate. Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has projected Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face. He has said that the Grand Alliance is contesting the elections under the leadership of Tejashwi and if the government of India is formed, Tejashwi will be the Chief Minister.

Along with this, Ashok Gehlot also told the reasons for electing Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face. In the joint press conference of the Grand Alliance held on Thursday, October 23, Ashok Gehlot said that Tejashwi Yadav is a youth leader and connects with the youth of Bihar. He knows the problems of the youth and always works forward to find their solutions. Ashok Gehlot also said that Tejashwi Yadav is the future of Bihar.

‘Tejashwi did wonders in Bihar elections 2020’- Ashok Gehlot

Apart from this, Congress’ Bihar election in-charge Ashok Gehlot praised Tejashwi Yadav and said that Tejashwi had done wonders in the year 2020. He was very close to victory. NDA government came to power only due to minor vote difference and money power, otherwise Tejashwi Yadav would have won. Therefore, India Alliance unanimously projects Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister face of the Grand Alliance.

‘We have chosen, who is the CM face of NDA?’- Ashok Gehlot

Along with the announcement of his CM face, Ashok Gehlot also asked the ruling coalition party NDA as to who is their CM candidate? In fact, despite repeated demands from current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP has not yet declared him as the CM face. It has only been said that NDA will contest Bihar elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. In such a situation, it is not yet confirmed whether Nitish Kumar will become the CM of Bihar again if the NDA government is repeated.

‘Nitish Kumar will not be the CM face of NDA’- Tejashwi Yadav

In the same press conference, Grand Alliance’s CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav even claimed that BJP will not allow Nitish Kumar to become the Chief Minister this time. Tejashwi Yadav said that injustice is being done to Nitish Kumar in NDA. There was neither any joint PC nor was Nitish formally declared the chief ministerial face.

In such a situation, Tejashwi Yadav also claimed that due to Nitish Kumar being unwell, he will not be able to become CM next time. Neither NDA government will come nor BJP will make him the CM.

Bakhri (SC) assembly constituency of Begusarai district is once again at the center of political contest in Bihar assembly elections. Situated on the banks of the Gandak River, this area is known for its dense population, fertile soil and agriculture-based economy. The sandy-loamy soil here is considered ideal for the production of paddy, wheat, maize and pulses, while milk production and small scale industries are important sources of income for the local people.

The total population of Bakhri Assembly is about 4.83 lakh, which includes about 2.95 lakh voters. Of these, male voters are 1.54 lakh and female voters are 1.40 lakh, while 9 voters are from the third gender category. This area is SC reserved, hence 20 to 25 percent votes of the Dalit community are considered decisive in this election.

Floods destroy thousands of acres of crops every year.

Due to the majority of rural areas (about 85 percent), the problems here are mainly related to farming. Every year the flood of Gandak river destroys thousands of acres of crops, causing huge losses to the farmers and migration of a large number of labourers. Apart from this, irrigation, employment and flood control have been permanent election issues of this region.

CPI won this seat 11 times

The history of Bakhri Assembly has been interesting from the political point of view. Elections have been held 17 times so far in this constituency, formed in 1951. Among these, the dominance of the Communist Party of India (CPI) remained for a long time. CPI has won here 11 times, including eight consecutive wins from 1967 to 1995. In the initial phase, Congress also won thrice in 1952, 1957 and 1962.

BJP registered victory from this area for the first time in 2010.

For the first time in the year 2000, RJD broke the streak of the Left, but in both the elections of 2005, CPI made a comeback. In 2010, BJP won this area for the first time, while in 2015 RJD won. In 2020, the Grand Alliance left this seat for CPI and party candidate Manoj Kumar defeated BJP by only 777 votes.

This time BJP is again trying to break into the Left stronghold, while CPI is active to preserve its support base. The role of Dalit voters and who is more effective on rural issues will decide in whose hands the historical stronghold of Bakhri goes.

As Bihar Assembly elections are approaching, confusion and competition regarding seats within the Grand Alliance is increasing. The allies are facing each other in many assembly constituencies, due to which questions are being raised on the unity of the alliance.

Efforts may have been made to coordinate seats between RJD, Congress, Left parties and VIP, but the equations at the ground level are telling a different story. Friendly competition has developed at many places, where the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance are directly challenging each other.

The most interesting contest will take place on these 6 seats.

The most interesting situation has arisen in seats like Warisaliganj, Narkatiaganj, Kahalgaon, Sultanganj, Vaishali and Sikandra. Both RJD and Congress have fielded their candidates in these areas. For example, from Warisaliganj, RJD has fielded Anita Devi Mahato, while Congress has given ticket to Satish Kumar. Similarly, in Narkatiaganj, Deepak Yadav of RJD will face Shashwat Kedar Pandey of Congress.

RJD’s Rajneesh Bharti and Congress’s Praveen Singh Kushwaha are face to face in Kahalgaon. In Sultanganj too, an interesting contest will be seen between Chandan Sinha (RJD) and Lalan Kumar (Congress). There will be a direct contest between RJD’s Ajay Kushwaha and Congress’s E. Sanjeev Singh on Vaishali seat. On Sikandra seat, experienced leaders of both the parties, Uday Narayan Choudhary of RJD and Vinod Choudhary of Congress are fighting the electoral battle with each other.

Direct confrontation between Congress and Left parties at many places

Within the Grand Alliance, there is a situation of direct competition between Congress and Left parties at many places. Both Congress and CPI have fielded candidates on seats like Bachhwara, Biharsharif, Karghar and Rajapakar. Congress’s Garib Das will face CPI’s Awadhesh Rai from Bachhwara, while Shiv Kumar Yadav (Congress) and Omair Khan (CPI) are facing each other in Biharsharif. Santosh Mishra of Congress will face Mahendra Gupta of CPI on Karghar seat. Whereas in Rajapakar seat, Pratima Das from Congress and Mohit Paswan from CPI are in the fray.

Clash between RJD and VIP on these two seats

Apart from this, a situation of conflict has also arisen between RJD and VIP party. In Babubarhi, RJD’s Arun Kushwaha will face VIP’s Bindu Gulab Yadav, while in Chainpur seat, VIP’s Balgovind Bind is in the fray against RJD’s Braj Kishore Singh.

Political analysts believe that competition within the grand alliance on these seats can harm the opposition alliance. While BJP and JDU have maintained tight coordination in candidate selection, this “friendly fight” of the Grand Alliance may prove to be an advantage for the ruling NDA on many seats.

There has been no consensus regarding seat sharing within the Grand Alliance in Bihar. After analyzing the list of candidates, it has become clear that there will be direct contest on 11 seats within the alliance. This situation is exposing the lack of coordination and internal differences among the opposition parties. Just two weeks before the first phase of elections, this disagreement has become a new point of attack for NDA and Chirag Paswan.

There will be a direct fight between RJD and Congress on 6 seats, while there will be a direct fight between CPI and Congress on 4 seats. At the same time, there will be a contest between Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and RJD on one seat, Chainpur.

On Monday, RJD released the list of its 143 candidates. This list also includes those 6 seats where Congress has already declared its candidates. These seats are- Vaishali, Sikandra, Kahalgaon, Sultanganj, Narkatiaganj and Versaliganj. Now all eyes are on October 23, which is the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the second phase. By then the picture will be clear whether there is any agreement in the opposition camp or not.

Shahnawaz Hussain targeted the Grand Alliance

BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, targeting the ‘Grand Alliance’, said that RJD has released its list of candidates, from which it has become clear that no norms have been followed in the ticket distribution.

He said, “The grand alliance has completely become a victim of the ‘great split’. Looking at the RJD list, it is clear that they have ignored their own workers and have distributed tickets to anyone. There is no candidate in this list who can win.”

#WATCH Delhi: On ‘Mahagathbandhan,’ BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain says, “RJD has released its list… This makes it clear that RJD has not followed any criteria in ticket distribution. ‘Mahagathbandhan Puri has become a victim of Mahaphoot,’ and their list… pic.twitter.com/scvrs4PRpM

— ANI (@ANI) October 21, 2025

Political experts say that these circumstances have raised questions on the unity and coordination of the opposition. Despite long-running meetings and secret discussions, the Grand Alliance has not yet been able to formally declare the seat distribution. At the same time, another interesting contest will be seen on Mahua seat. Here RJD has made Mukesh Roshan its candidate, who will contest against Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav. Tej Pratap was expelled from RJD earlier this year, after which he formed his new party Janashakti Janata Dal. This family dispute is now adding a new twist to the politics of Bihar.

Political analysts believe that such internal contests can lead to division of opposition votes, due to which the BJP-led NDA can gain advantage on many seats.

What did Chirag Paswan say about the grand alliance?

LJP (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan also targeted the Grand Alliance on Monday. He said, “I have never seen such an election in which such a big alliance is on the verge of breaking. It is one thing to have differences of opinion on the selection of seats, but here there is no consensus on the number of seats itself.”

Chirag Paswan’s party is contesting elections on 29 seats this time. Taking a dig at the state of the grand alliance, he said that this “friendly fight” going on within the opposition is actually proving to be a walkover for the NDA. Chirag Paswan said, “There is nothing that can be called a friendly competition. Either you are a friend or a rival. If you are fielding candidates against each other and targeting leaders, then it will definitely affect the remaining seats.”

Neither the ruling nor the opposition alliance party is able to finalize seat sharing in the Bihar Assembly elections. Talking about the opposition grand alliance, political differences are still going on between the allies Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress. If sources are to be believed, there is a huge conflict between Congress and RJD. Congress is adamant on the demand of more than 60 seats and RJD has set a limit of 58 seats for it.

Sources are also saying that Congress is preparing to field candidates on about 65 seats. Congress has kept a formula to give 138 seats to RJD. In the remaining 40 seats, VIPs of Left parties and Mukesh Sahni have been asked to adjust.

Not only this, the situation on the political ground is such that even before the picture on seat distribution is clear, the allies have issued symbols to the candidates. RJD has so far given symbols to a total of 71 candidates. At the same time, BHPKA (ML) has given symbols to candidates on 18 seats. Apart from this, CPI released the list of 6 candidates, it has claimed to field candidates on 4 other seats after consent.

VIP Chief Mukesh Sahani in restlessness

One candidate also filed nomination in CPM and on Thursday, October 16, other candidates will also file nomination. Mukesh Sahni is uneasy seeing the number of his VIP seats continuously decreasing. RJD has so far given consent to VIP on 12 seats.

There may be a friendly fight in the Grand Alliance

The situation so far in the Grand Alliance shows that if the issue of seat sharing is not resolved soon, then there will be a situation of friendly fight between the constituent parties on some seats.

In view of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the leftist party CPI(ML) (Liberation) has decided to contest Mehboob Alam from Balrampur seat as a strong face. The party has given him ticket from the same seat from where he is also the current MLA.

Let us tell you that Mehboob Alam is an experienced leader who has been associated with CPI (ML) for a long time. He is currently the MLA of Balrampur assembly constituency. Earlier he has also contested elections from Barsoi seat and has been active in the socio-political struggles of that area. Alam is also a member of CPI Male Central Committee and Bihar State Committee.

How was the identity formed?

Mehboob Alam has studied only till class 12 and his family works in agriculture. Mehboob Alam’s identity is made of strong political work and public support. Alam has been working in his field for years. Have been raising issues related to land, problems of farmers and labourers. Despite being an MLA for so long, he lives in a small house.

Mehboob Alam has worked within the party and has been associated with the ideology of the party. Talking about his election history, in the year 2020, he secured 1,04,489 votes from Balrampur seat and defeated his opponent by about 53,597 votes. This margin was the highest in the entire election. Balrampur is a Muslim dominated seat and more than 60 percent of the voters here are Muslims.

Male won so many seats in 2020

According to the report, in the Bihar Assembly elections 2020, the Left parties got 29 seats in the grand alliance. In this, CPI(ML) contested elections on 19 seats in which 12 of its candidates were successful in winning the elections. This time CPI(ML) i.e. CPI(ML) can contest elections on 25 seats. The party has started announcing the candidates. By giving the seat to Mehboob Alam again from Balrampur, CPI(ML) has indicated that they trust the old and trusted face of the party.

Balrampur seat is an important seat for CPI because of its proximity to Bengal. Politically, this seat is important for the party because it has been a stronghold of leftist politics and the results here have the potential to influence the political direction of the state. Also, Mehboob Alam has won this seat several times since 2000 and is considered to have a deep hold among the public.

Also read:- BJP gave tickets to two candidates who lost in the Lok Sabha elections, know who are the leaders on whom the party placed its bet.

Election preparations are in full swing for Bihar Assembly elections 2025. This time a fight is being seen between the ruling NDA and the opposition India Bloc for one seat each. In such a situation, the election of Teghra assembly seat of Begusarai will be very important, which has been considered an old stronghold of the Communist Party of India (CPI).

Teghra, an important sub-division of Begusarai, is very interesting from the point of view of electoral history. This assembly constituency, formed in 1951, remained known as ‘Teghra’ till 1967. After that its name was changed to ‘Barauni’ and with the decision of the Delimitation Commission of 2008, the name returned to ‘Teghra’.

CPI weakened across the country
In total 15 elections, voting took place in the name of ‘Teghra’ 6 times and ‘Barauni’ 9 times. CPI’s dominance on this seat remained firm. Despite the weakening of CPI’s support base in Bihar and other parts of the country, this region remains one of the party’s strongholds. CPI won all the 9 elections of the ‘Barauni’ period.

How long has the dominance been maintained?
This trend, which started in 1962, continued till 2005, when the party registered its 10th consecutive victory. Earlier, Congress had captured it in 1952 and 1957. Regional changes after the 2008 delimitations challenged CPI’s hold. In 2010, BJP won the seat, while in 2015, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won. CPI stood third in that election, but in 2020, CPI got this seat under the Grand Alliance and the party created history for the 11th time by defeating the Janata Dal United (JDU) candidate by a huge margin of 47,979 votes.

More than 63 percent voting took place in 2020
Talking about the local issues of Teghra Assembly, flood control, agricultural crisis and migration are prominent here. In 2020, there was more than 63 percent voting, which gives hope this time too. Geographically, Teghra is situated on the banks of Budhi Gandak, while river Ganga flows nearby. Despite being only 6 kilometers away from Barauni industrial town, 80 percent of the population here is dependent on agriculture.

The total population of Teghra Assembly is 4,96,245, which includes 2,62,488 males and 2,33,757 females. A total of 3,05,595 names are registered in the voter list, of which 1,60,366 are men, 1,45,217 are women and 12 are third gender voters. This data has been prepared after a special intensive revision, which happened for the first time since 2003.

The Congress Working Committee meeting is being held today (Wednesday) in the capital Patna. Prior to Bihar elections (2025), this historic meeting is being held in Sadaqat Ashram in Patna. In the midst of this meeting, what can be the seat sharing formula in the grand alliance, it has come out of the sources. According to 2020, RJD, Left and VIP are not damaged but Congress may have a big loss.

Congress can get 52 seats in this election

If sources are to be believed, RJD can contest the most 140 seats. At the same time, Congress can get 52 seats. The Left can get 35 (it includes CPIML, CPI and CPM) and VIP can get 15 seats. There is a possibility of a little up and down in this formula, if the Pashupati Paras party comes into the RLJP and JMM Grand Alliance, then they can be given 2-2 seats.

On the said formula, talks are being held between the parties of the Grand Alliance. A formal announcement can be made as soon as all the parties agreed. Everything will be done this time on the basis of the formula of seat sharing during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In 2024, out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, RJD 23 and Congress contested nine seats. At the same time, Left parties got five seats (CPIML three, CPM one, CPI one). VIP got three seats.

Talking about the 2020 assembly elections, RJD fought on 144 in the Grand Alliance. Congress fought in 70 seats. At the same time, left parties contested 29 seats. In left parties, CPM was given four seats, CPI six and CPI Male was given 19 seats.

Congress could not perform better in 2020

Please tell that in the 2020 assembly elections, Congress was given 70 seats. However, the party’s candidates did not perform brilliantly and lost most seats. The Congress won only 19 seats. Many times Lalu Yadav has also said that whether the Congress should be given more seats to lose more seats? On the other hand, it will be seen whether the Congress believes in less seats or puts some more pressure to increase.

The 5th meeting of the Grand Alliance Coordination Committee was held on a Polo Road, the official residence of Leader of Opposition Tejashwi for the assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav presided over the meeting. Leaders of all the constituents of RJD, Vikas Human Party, CPI Male, CPI and CPM were present in the meeting. Seat sharing was discussed in this meeting regarding the election and several other strategies were also discussed.

Coordination committee meeting lasted for five hours

The meeting of the Grand Alliance Coordination Committee went on for five hours under the chairmanship of Tejashwi for the assembly elections. After the meeting, VIP chief Mukesh Sahni said that the strategy of election preparations has been churned. Seat sharing has also been discussed, allies have submitted their list of claims regarding seats before the meeting. The list has been handed over. The seat sharing will be done soon. There has been a detailed discussion on the voter list revision campaign. The voter’s name is not to take care not to be cut off from the voter list.

BLOs are not doing their work properly, the work of the Election Commission is not being done properly. We will go to the booth level on this issue. Will Jharkhand Mukti Morcha RLJP’s entry in the alliance be in the grand alliance? On this question, he said that all arrangements will be done with time, discussion has been done.

Mantle on shared manifesto in the meeting

In the meeting, the shared manifesto of the Grand Alliance has also been churned. Talks have been held on the clan of the Grand Alliance. Because all the constituents of the Grand Alliance say that our aim is one. He excludes the NDA from power. There is no screw on any issue. Strongly, the grand alliance is united and engaged in the preparations for the election. There is no confusion about the face.
