Some CPM leaders made sharp criticism during the party’s state secretariat meeting called on Friday to review the election results in Kerala. Many members said that remaining silent is no longer an option and the party must now ‘speak, listen and reform’.

Some leaders suggested that the mood of the party members was also not in favor of LDF. He also said that the organizational structure of the party has become such that internal matters cannot be discussed openly and he said that this is the first problem which needs to be fixed.

Everyone should be listened to – leaders insisted on this
During the discussion, the leaders emphasized that everyone’s views should be heard with an open mind and members should feel that they have complete freedom to express their views. He said that if this does not happen, then any attempt at reform will not be able to become a real reform.

The meeting lasted for 13 hours
The meeting, which was initially scheduled to end before 4 pm, lasted for 13 hours as leaders reportedly objected to ending it hastily. His demand that everyone should be given a chance to speak without any time limit was accepted.

Vijayan and Govindan criticized
If sources are to be believed, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and State Secretary M.V. Govindan faced criticism during the meeting. The leaders said that intolerant behavior should end. M.V. There were also indications in the criticism directed at Govindan that perhaps it would be appropriate for him to step down from the post of party secretary. Pinarayi Vijayan, who usually adopts a tough stance in such meetings, stayed till 9 pm during this session, while the meeting continued till 11 pm.

Issues related to selection of candidates were also discussed
Issues related to selection of candidates were also discussed. K.K. Shailaja expressed her displeasure over changing her constituency to contest elections from another constituency. According to sources, the trend of directly criticizing the Chief Minister in the State Secretariat meeting was not seen for some time. Earlier, mild criticism had come to light when an agreement was reached with the Governor on the university issue without the knowledge of the party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the maiden speech of BJP’s nominated MP C. Sadanandan Master in the Rajya Sabha, saying it shows his ‘moral strength and conviction’. In a letter to the MP, Modi also praised Sadanandan for presenting his points in a ‘calm and confident manner’ during his recent speech.

The PM said that Sadanandan may be new to Parliament, but you have brought with you a lifetime of service and commitment towards the ideology of nation first. When I heard you speak, I saw moral strength and conviction in your words.

Sadanandan Master expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s praise in a post on X. Sharing the photo of the letter, he said, ‘I am really very lucky. Received a letter of appreciation from world famous Shri Narendra Modi ji for my first speech in Rajya Sabha. This precious encouragement from the country and its leader will give great strength to my cause and spirit of service.

PM Modi also mentioned the attack

PM Modi also said in his letter that everyone in Kerala knew about Sadanandan’s courage, but when he showed his artificial limbs in the Upper House, it shocked people in Parliament and all over India. Sadanandan had taken out his artificial leg during his maiden speech in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, which caused a lot of uproar and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) strongly criticized it and called it a drama.

He had alleged that he had lost both his legs in an attack by CPI(M) workers three decades ago. Referring to this in his letter, the Prime Minister said, ‘People were not able to digest that in a vibrant democracy like ours, how could supporters of a backward-thinking ideology attack a hard-working teacher like this. Today, it is noteworthy that that backward thinking ideology has shrunk a lot, while you are proudly sitting in the Parliament.

Who is Sadanandan Master?

C Sadanandan Master, a high school teacher living in Thrissur, Kerala, taught social sciences at Sri Durga Vilasam Higher Secondary School in Peramangalam since 1999. He has obtained B.Com degree from Guwahati University, Assam and B.Ed degree from Calicut University, Kerala. He is the vice president of the National Teachers Union in Kerala.

Had lost both his legs in political violence

The incident he mentioned was of January 25, 1994. When his house in Kannur district was attacked by some criminal elements. This area of Kannur has been famous for political violence. After this attack his legs had to be amputated. It is said that this attack was carried out by CPI(M) supporters.

The incident started when a CPI(M) worker took his son and daughter to the temple without asking and made them Sri Krishna on Janmashtami. C Sadanandan’s name appeared in this. This dispute later took a violent turn.

Left SFI and joined RSS

Sadanandan was associated with CPI(M)’s student wing, Student Federation of India (SFI) during his college days. Left SFI and joined RSS in 1984. After this he was made the Sarkaryavah of Coonoor district. He came to BJP from RSS. In 2016 and 2021, he was given ticket from Koothuparamba assembly of Coonoor district. In the year 2016, he had got more than 20 thousand votes, in this election he had to face defeat from the CPI(M) candidate. He was at third place. At the same time, in 2021, it got more than 21 thousand votes, but still came at third place. After this, C Sadanandan Master was nominated for Rajya Sabha in 2025. However, till now he has not asked any question to the government in Rajya Sabha. She is a member of the Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports Affairs. He was taking part in a discussion for the first time on Monday.

West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: There is a stir in the politics of West Bengal regarding SIR. The political temperature is rising every day in vote-oriented West Bengal. Along with this, discussion on political equations has also started. In this environment, discussion has started in various circles on whether the Left-Congress will compromise on seats in the 2026 assembly elections.

In this regard, CPIM State Secretary Mohammad Salim clarified his position in front of ABP Anand. He was asked, “The elections are almost here. You are also definitely making your strategy. You went with Congress in 2021. What is your stand with Congress this time?

Discussion in final stage – Mohammad Salim

In reply, Mohammad Salim said, “We have been discussing with the Left Front allies since the last puja. Four rounds of discussions have taken place. Now it is in the final stage. Because before talking to anyone else, one has to put one’s own house in order. First CPIM, then the Left Front. As per the decision of the Left Front, we are discussing with the Left parties outside the Left Front. The discussions have not been completed yet, because these discussions are in my hands. I am not doing it.

He further said, “We have spoken to CPIML Liberation. He agrees that he will not remain in the Left Front. Will support us as an ally of the Left Front, together we will fight to defeat BJP-Trinamool. The final decision on the seat will be made the day we sit.”

ISF also agreed to come along – Mohammad Salim

Salim says, “Among those outside the Left, we have talked to the ISF. They have also agreed in principle that they will fight only with the Leftists. They have also been told that there will be no condition as to who else will come or not. Just as we have told the Left Front allies, ISF has also been told the same.”

He further said, “Congress has sent some files to Trinamool. If a compromise can be reached by giving some seats, they are repeatedly saying that first the stand has to be made politically clear. To make a compromise with the Left Front, first the politics has to be made clear. That politics will be anti-BJP-Trinamool. It will be anti-communal-imperialist and in favor of hardworking people.”

Salim said, “We have not bowed our heads before Trinamool, we respect those Congress workers.” Who have suffered a lot of greed, allurement, beatings, lathicharge, jail, fines, like CPIM. He did not join Trinamool, that respect has to be given. If Congress has business or commercial or political relations with the Trinamool leadership, why would this be collateral damage for it?”

A unique and shocking survey has come out regarding Kerala. Here, in the last two Lok Sabha elections, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has emerged as the biggest force in the state. India Today and C-Voter’s survey Mood of National (MOTN) has predicted that if elections are held today, UDF will once again be at the forefront.

According to the survey, ‘If Lok Sabha elections are held today, UDF will be in a strong position on 18 seats in Kerala. There is no hope of any kind of change here. Earlier, in the previous edition of the survey published in August 2025, the number of seats of UDF was given as 18.

Why is this survey shocking?

In fact, among the shocking figures that have come out in this entire survey, the number of seats of the ruling alliance LDF has been shown as 0. At the same time, the matter of BJP getting seats has come to light. BJP had got one seat in the last Lok Sabha elections.

What kind of changes in vote share figures?

Surprising figures have also emerged in the survey regarding vote share figures. According to MOTN, UDF’s vote share has shown a decline of 3% compared to 2024. Here BJP’s vote share is expected to increase from 17% to 25%.

However, a clear lead of UDF is not visible in the recent assembly elections. People here have voted for UDF in the last two Lok Sabha elections. Also, LDF was elected in the assembly elections.

Elections will be held in these 5 states of the country this year

This year i.e. 2026 is being considered a very important year for India. Because assembly elections are to be held in many states this year. These include important states like West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

Congress also had great success in the recently held municipal elections in Kerala. Whereas the Left alliance had to face a big defeat. Apart from this, Bharatiya Janata Party was successful in capturing big municipal corporations like Thiruvananthapuram.

CPI(M) leader Saira Shah Haleem said in an interview given to a private TV channel that I like Rahul Gandhi very much. He has also given a statement related to the Grand Alliance in the midst of the ongoing elections in Bihar. He said that the opposition now needs a clear face and direction. In his words, Rahul Gandhi is a struggling leader and Priyanka has the ability to connect with the public, but the opposition will now have to give a clear political message. Saira also said that when the ruling party has a face like Narendra Modi, then the INDIA alliance should also put forward its prime ministerial candidate so that there is no confusion among the voters.

Remembering senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, Saira said that he has been a fearless and pro-people leader. He said that Comrade Yechury was never afraid to ask questions to those in power. Today, such frankness as his voice is rarely seen in politics.

Challenges of INDIA alliance and opposition
Saira Shah Haleem admitted that the INDIA alliance is still not fully coordinated at the level of unity and strategy. He said that Left and Congress are face to face in Kerala but are together at the national level. This contradiction creates confusion among the public. He believes that the opposition should present not just unity but also an ideological vision, which could become a solid alternative model to BJP’s politics.

Rahul Gandhi and left ideology
When she was asked whether Rahul Gandhi was leaning towards leftist ideas, Saira said that in the present times, there is a historical need for the cooperation of Congress and the Left to protect democracy and the Constitution. He said that we are ideologically different, but it is necessary to move together to save democracy. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s campaigns like Bharat Jodo Yatra and Nyay Yatra, Saira believed that they reflect equality, social justice and inclusivity, which are close to traditional leftist values.

The Congress Working Committee meeting is being held today (Wednesday) in the capital Patna. Prior to Bihar elections (2025), this historic meeting is being held in Sadaqat Ashram in Patna. In the midst of this meeting, what can be the seat sharing formula in the grand alliance, it has come out of the sources. According to 2020, RJD, Left and VIP are not damaged but Congress may have a big loss.

Congress can get 52 seats in this election

If sources are to be believed, RJD can contest the most 140 seats. At the same time, Congress can get 52 seats. The Left can get 35 (it includes CPIML, CPI and CPM) and VIP can get 15 seats. There is a possibility of a little up and down in this formula, if the Pashupati Paras party comes into the RLJP and JMM Grand Alliance, then they can be given 2-2 seats.

On the said formula, talks are being held between the parties of the Grand Alliance. A formal announcement can be made as soon as all the parties agreed. Everything will be done this time on the basis of the formula of seat sharing during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In 2024, out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, RJD 23 and Congress contested nine seats. At the same time, Left parties got five seats (CPIML three, CPM one, CPI one). VIP got three seats.

Talking about the 2020 assembly elections, RJD fought on 144 in the Grand Alliance. Congress fought in 70 seats. At the same time, left parties contested 29 seats. In left parties, CPM was given four seats, CPI six and CPI Male was given 19 seats.

Congress could not perform better in 2020

Please tell that in the 2020 assembly elections, Congress was given 70 seats. However, the party’s candidates did not perform brilliantly and lost most seats. The Congress won only 19 seats. Many times Lalu Yadav has also said that whether the Congress should be given more seats to lose more seats? On the other hand, it will be seen whether the Congress believes in less seats or puts some more pressure to increase.
