England veteran all -rounder Chris Woakes has announced retirement from international cricket. The 36 -year -old Vox was last seen playing in the Oval Test against India. He retired from international cricket after not being selected in England Squad for the Ashes Series. He also told that he will continue to play county cricket.

Chris Woakes issued a statement saying, “The time has come, I have decided that now is the right time to move away from international cricket. It was my childhood dream to play for England and I am lucky to fulfill my dream. Representing England, wearing a jersey with 3 lions and playing with colleagues for 15 years, some of which are my very good friends.

The last match was played against India

Chris Woakes played the last match against India at the Oval ground. He was injured in that match, due to which he could not bowl. Despite this, he came to batting with a broken shoulder. In that match, India had registered an exciting victory of 6 runs. Vox took a total of 11 wickets in that series.

Chris Woakes made his international debut against Australia in 2011. He also scored 2034 runs in his career with 192 wickets in 61 Tests. In his 122 ODI matches, he scored 1524 runs in batting with 173 wickets. He played 33 T20 matches in his career, with 31 wickets in his name.

Chris Woakes, who retired in the year 2025, is the first cricket. However, many players from other teams have announced retirement this year. It is said that 2025 has been a year of retirement and now the new name has also been added to it.

Wakas Maqsood played only one T20 match for Pakistan. In that match against New Zealand in Dubai, Maqsood took 2 wickets by bowling 1.5 overs. He became the 80th player to debut for Pakistan in T20 format. In that match, he dismissed Lockie Furganus and Saith Rans within just 5 balls.

Born in Faisalabad, Wakas Maqsood gained a lot of recognition in the domestic career, which lasted for almost a decade. He took 294 wickets in 81 first-class matches. He also achieved proper success in List-A career, where he took 87 wickets in 56 matches. He has 77 wickets in 68 T20 matches.

Maqsood has also played in Pakistan Super League. For both Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, they played a total of 20 matches in PSL, in which they took 27 wickets. He played a last competitive match in November 2023.

Two days ago, Usman Shinwari also retired. He took 48 wickets in all three formats by playing 34 matches for Pakistan. He made his international debut for Pakistan at the age of just 19. But his career could not last long.
