Riyan Parag was seen smoking vape during the match in IPL 2026, which is a type of intoxicant and is also banned in India. This happened during the Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals match held in Mullanpur on 28th April. When the camera went to RR’s dressing room in the 16th over of Rajasthan’s innings, Ryan was smoking vape. However, this is not the first case of a player being seen smoking vape in a live cricket match.

Riyan Parag is the captain of Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan is doing well under his leadership, the team has remained in the top-4 since the beginning. But the captain’s personal performance has not been good, he has scored only 117 runs in 9 matches. In the PBKS vs RR match, when Parag was out and returned to the pavilion, he smoked vape.

Such a case had come up in IPL before also

Former Australian captain Aaron Finch was also seen smoking vape during the IPL match. This incident happened in the year 2020, when IPL was organized in UAE due to Corona. Whereas another case came to light in January this year.

In January 2026, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers was also seen vaping in the stadium during a live match. This happened during the SA20 league. When the camera was on him, he also got a little nervous. However, vaping is not banned in South Africa.

Smoking in the World Cup

Former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum had revealed that he smoked in the toilet during the 2015 World Cup semi-final match, which was against South Africa. Ben Stokes also said that he smoked in the washroom of Lord’s during the 2019 World Cup final.
