Before the Chanakya Defense Dialogue to be held in the presence of the country’s top military commanders and strategic experts, General Dwivedi has clearly said that India is ready for a long fight under any circumstances and whether the enemy is Pakistan or its supported terrorists, the army has the ability to give a befitting reply to every threat.

General Dwivedi said that no matter how much Pakistan promotes terrorism secretly behind the scenes, the Indian Army keeps an eye on its every move. He said that there has been a huge decline in terrorism in Kashmir in the last five years and 61% of the killed terrorists were Pakistanis, which proves that the conspiracy to send terror from across the border is continuing. According to him, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is changing rapidly and today the youth there are seeing a future with India.

General Dwivedi mentioned Operation Sindoor

Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said, “This was just a trailer. If needed, Pakistan will be taught how a responsible country behaves with its neighbour.” He also made it clear that India is not afraid of any kind of nuclear blackmail and whether the war lasts for four months or four years, the Indian Army is ready in any situation.

This big thing was said in the Red Fort car blast case

Referring to the blast at the Red Fort, the Army Chief said that deterrence is working. Even if any blank letter comes from the terrorists, the army will find out where it has come from.

What did General Dwivedi say on India’s relations with China?

On relations with China, he expressed hope that after the reduction in tension in Eastern Ladakh, both the countries are moving towards normalcy. He said that due to increased dialogue between the political leadership, the ground situation has improved rapidly. He said, “When diplomacy and political direction come together, defense diplomacy becomes smart power.”

Said this on Manipur violence

General Dwivedi also gave his reaction on Manipur violence. He said that Manipur is like heaven for him and the situation is becoming normal after the imposition of President’s rule there. He expressed hope that if the communities there resolve their mutual differences, the situation will improve.

Similarly, referring to the 43,000 refugees who came from Myanmar, he said that India is trying to send them back and if any of them is found involved in terrorist activities, strict action will be taken.

Tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan has increased once again. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday (October 28) accused the Taliban government of Afghanistan of playing into the hands of India and said that if Kabul tried to attack Islamabad, Pakistan would respond with 50 times more force.

Speaking in a Geo News programme, Asif said, “The people running the government in Kabul are dancing like puppets on the tunes of Delhi. India is plotting against Pakistan by making Afghanistan a pawn.” He said that the recent talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Türkiye failed several times due to the withdrawal of the Afghan side. Asif said, “Whenever there was a situation of agreement, Kabul intervened and withdrew it,” Asif said.

Khwaja Asif accused India

Asif alleged that India wants the low intensity war against Pakistan to continue and Afghanistan remains its means. He said, “After the defeat on its western border, India has now adopted the strategy of destabilizing Pakistan through Kabul.” According to sources, the talks mediated by Türkiye and Qatar ended without any concrete result. Pakistan’s main demand was that Afghanistan should take concrete action against terrorist organizations like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operating in its territory.

What did Pakistan’s Information Minister say?

On this issue, Pakistan’s Information Minister Atta Ullah Tarar also said that in the Istanbul talks, the Afghan side kept deviating from the core issue again and again and kept avoiding taking responsibility. In the last few weeks, many soldiers and civilians have died in border skirmishes, creating a war-like situation between the two countries. Although a temporary ceasefire was reached in Doha brokered by Qatar on 19 October, it could not end the tension permanently.

Khawaja Asif said in a stern tone, “Even if Afghanistan raises its eyes towards Islamabad, we will gouge out its eyes. Afghanistan should understand that Pakistan will not compromise its security at any cost.”

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif faced a difficult question before attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday (26 September 2025). While entering the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Indian news agency Asian News International (ANI) asked him, “When will Pakistan stop cross-border terrorism?”

On this question, Pakistan’s PM Sharif immediately replied and said, “We are ending terrorism, we are defeating them.” However, the ANI journalist again hit back, “Pakistani PM, India is defeating you.” Sharif did not respond to this comment and went directly to attend the General Assembly session.

Pakistan has always denied allegations

This entire development not only shows Sharif’s uncomfortable situation but also highlights the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. Cross -border terrorism has long been the main cause of dispute between the two countries. India has been continuously accusing Pakistan of promoting terrorism and sheltering terrorist organizations. At the same time, Pakistan always denies these allegations.

India launched Operation Sindoor

India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May 2025. The move was taken in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 innocents were killed. The dead included Nepali citizens along with Indians. After this terrorist incident, India took a tough stance and carried out air and missile attacks on 9 terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). The purpose of this operation was to demolish the bases of terror and to prevent such incidents in future. India took this action under its zero tolerance policy against terrorism.

India has strictly rejected Pakistan’s objections for suspending Indus Water Treaty after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. In the Geneva session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Indian diplomat Anupama Singh said that permanent cooperation rests on trust, not terrorism.

India’s clear message on treaty

Anupama Singh said that the Indus Water Treaty signed in 1960 was done in a sense of goodwill and friendship, but today is completely different. He said, “The world of 1960 is not the world today. Pakistan sponsored terrorism is constantly hollowing out the basic spirit of this treaty.”

Direct attack on Pakistan

The Indian representative accused Pakistan that he tries to give political color to the council’s proceedings repeatedly, while his own record is filled with violation of the principles of the treaty. He said, “The country which continuously and deliberately violates the basic spirit of the treaty, has no right to accuse others.”

Pakistan is struggling with water crisis

India suspended the treaty on 23 April, when Pakistan-backed militants killed 25 tourists and a local pony operator in the Besaran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. After this move of India, a serious water crisis has arisen in Pakistan. According to reports, both the major reservoirs of Pakistan have reached dead storage level and there has been a huge decline in agricultural production.

The treaty was done by World Bank mediation

The Indus Water Treaty, which took place in the World Bank’s mediation in 1960, has been considered a symbol of cooperation in Indo-Pak relations. Under this treaty, India was given control of Eastern rivers, Ravi, Beas and Sutlej, while Pakistan got the rights of Western rivers- Indus, Jhelum and Chenab.

PM Modi’s blunt statement

Let me tell you that after the Pahalgam attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the name of the nation in May, “Water and blood cannot flow together.”

Trump Tariff: After the BRICS 2025 conference held in Brazil, the geopolitical atmosphere has been heated. US President Donald Trump has warned the BRICS countries of adopting “anti -America policies” to impose an additional 10% tariff on 12 countries. China has reacted strongly to this. China has clearly stated that the BRICS group does not want conflict, but it is wrong to use tariffs as political pressure.

China’s US two
During the regular press briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said, there is no victory in the tariff and trade war. Protectionism is not the way forward. China criticized the US using tariffs as a political weapon and said that this strategy would not be beneficial for anyone.

Trump’s warning
Trump has spoken of giving economic punishment to those countries which are standing with anti-American policies of BRICS. Aerial attacks on Iran’s military and nuclear bases by the US and Israel at the BRICS conference were called “illegal”. This move of BRICS is considered to be the hardest collective condemnation ever on Western military action. Trump said that countries supporting such proposals should be ready to suffer economic consequences.

Concern over Iran and Gaza, condemnation of terrorism
Apart from Iran’s issue, the Gaza war was also discussed in the conference. BRICS countries raised concerns over unilateral military actions and emphasized the need for peace. At the same time, the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India was also strongly condemned. BRICs demanded strict action on cross -border terrorism and terror financeing networks.

Stress grows behind Trump’s threat
Trump said that he has prepared tariff notices for 12 countries which have been signed and ready. These letters will be issued at 12 noon (EST) on Monday afternoon. This threat has come at a time when the temporary ban on the new policy of tariff in the US ends on 9 July. Earlier on April 2, Trump had announced to increase the tariff on all business partner countries, causing diplomatic disputes around the world.

BRICS Nations Condemned Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: The BRICS summit 2025 witnessed a major diplomatic victory for India when the joint manifesto (Joint Declaration) was strongly condemned by the terror attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 innocent people were killed and many were injured in this attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the stage to support Pakistan to support terrorism and appealed to global leaders for solidarity against terror.

Talk of zero tolerance against terrorism
The BRICS manifesto stated that terrorism is not acceptable in any form. Regardless of its purpose, it should not be associated with any religion, race, nationality or civilization. All terrorist organizations and their supporters should be punished.

Strict condemnation of Pahalgam attack
The BRICS called the Pahalgam attack as ‘extremely condemnable’ and ‘crime’. This is the first time that a terrorist attack in India was so clearly condemned on a platform like BRICS. The manifesto appealed to all countries to take strict steps against terrorism without any double standards.

PM Modi described Pakistan as a supporter of terror
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that India is a victim of terrorism, while Pakistan is a supporter of terrorism. He also said that the victims and supporters of terrorism cannot be weighed on the same scales. PM Modi also took a dig at those keeping silence and said that silence on terror should not be accepted for political gains.

PM Modi further said, ‘In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt gratitude to those friendly countries who expressed support and condolences. Condemning terrorism should be our ‘principle’ and not only ‘facility’. If we first see in which country the attack took place, against whom, then it will be a betrayal of humanity.

Emphasis on need to improve security council
BRICS leaders reiterated the demand for comprehensive reform in the United Nations Security Council to make it more democratic. Emphasized to make the voice of Global South more effective in particular.

India-pakistan tension: India has taken another action against Pakistan after suspending the Indus Water Agreement. Now India has stopped the water of Chenab river through Bagalihar Dam. Similarly, the Jhelum is planning to take tough steps about the Kishanganga dam on the river. A source said that the Bagihar Hydroelectric Dam in Ramban, Jammu and the Kishanganga Hydroelectric Dam in North Kashmir have the ability to regulate the time of release of water.

India decided to suspend the decades-old treaty after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people were killed in this attack, mostly tourists. The Indus Water Treaty, which was conducted by the World Bank’s mediation, has controlled the use of the Indus River and its tributaries between India and Pakistan since 1960.

Controversy over Baggihar Dam

The Bagihar Dam has been a matter of long dispute between the two neighbors. Pakistan has demanded the World Bank’s mediation in this matter. Pakistan also has objections due to its influence on Neelam, a tributary of Jhelum, especially about the Kishanganga dam.

History of Indus Water Agreement

The Indus Water Agreement, signed by Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru and President of Pakistan Ayub Khan in 1960. It was a historical agreement made in the World Bank’s mediation. Its aim was to avoid the future conflict between India and Pakistan over water resources. Under this treaty, India got the right to Ravi, Sutlej, Beas. The control of Indus, Chenab, Jhelum was assigned to Pakistan. However, India got limited irrigation, power generation and domestic use exemption.

Pakistan’s lifeline Indus?

The mainstay of Pakistan’s water-based economy is the Indus river system. With its help, Pakistan uses 93% of Western rivers water. 80% agricultural land depends on this water. The livelihood of millions of people, water supply network of cities and hydro power production rests on this system. So when India indicated the postponement of the Indus Water Agreement, there was a panic and resentment in Pakistan’s political and military leadership.

India-Pakistan News: India strictly dismissed Pakistan’s repeated statements about Jammu and Kashmir during a debate on peace establishment reforms in the United Nations. Describing them as ‘unfair’, India made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir was an integral part of India, and will always be.

Speaking in the United Nations Security Council, India’s permanent representative Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish criticized Pakistan and said that it is trying to divert attention from the main discussions on peace establishment. He said, ‘India considers it necessary to clarify that the representative of Pakistan has once again made unfair remarks on the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Such repeated claims neither recognize their illegal claims nor justify terrorism across their state-resonated border.

‘Empty illegal possession’

Harish also clearly stated that Pakistan is illegally occupying a part of Jammu and Kashmir and should be vacated immediately. He said, “Pakistan is illegally occupying the area of Jammu and Kashmir, which should be abandoned.” Along with this, Harish insisted that India will not allow questions on its sovereignty on global forums.

Gave a befitting reply to Pakistan

Harish rejected Pakistan’s efforts to misuse the United Nations Forum for his narrow and divisive agenda, saying, “We would advise Pakistan not to try to divert the attention of this platform.” He also clarified that India does not understand the need to give a detailed response as its situation has already been clarified. He said, “India will refrain from exercising the right to give more detailed answers.”

While the United Nations session focused on reforms in peace establishment, India used this opportunity to emphasize the need to deal with challenges like armed groups and modern weapons, ‘Harish spoke on the important role of the army and police contributing countries in determining the mandate of peace campaigns and stressed the need to provide adequate funds to meet the needs’

India Pakistan Relations: India did not participate in Pakistan’s National Day celebrations held at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi for the second consecutive year. The government cited support for support to cross -border terrorism from Islamabad as the main reason for this decision and called it the biggest obstacle for regional peace.

India also strongly criticized Pakistan’s decision to honor Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. Indian officials consider Naik as wanted in cases related to terrorism. The dispute increased further when Saad Ahmed Varaich, in-charge of the Pakistani High Commission, hoped for ‘new morning’ in Indo-Pak relations. He said that this is possible only when both countries increase mutual understanding and solve other long-term disputes including Jammu and Kashmir.

Was India invited to this program?

No official representative from India was present in this program. However, it was not clear whether Pakistan had invited Indian officials or not. When Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal was asked about this, he said that he has no information in this regard. He also said that the acceptance of such invitations depends on the status of the relationship between the two countries.

Spokesperson Jaiswal accused Pakistan of spreading lies

Spokesperson Jaiswal, in his statement, accused Pakistan of spreading lies and said that it should vacate the Eligel occupied areas of India. He clearly stated that India always wants to have a normal relationship with neighboring countries, but for this, Pakistan will have to create an atmosphere free from terrorism and enmity.

Prime Minister Modi’s strong comment on Pakistan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said in a podcast that every attempt for peace with Pakistan has been replied as enmity and betrayal. He hoped that the leadership of Islamabad would get goodwill to improve bilateral relations.

India’s response to honoring Zakir Naik

The Government of India reacted strongly to Zakir Naik’s meeting with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Lahore. Jaiswal said that this is not the first time Pakistan has supported Naik. He said that this incident shows which side of the Government of Pakistan is inclined and what it indicates for India.

Pakistan wants a peaceful relationship with India

Pakistani diplomat Varaich said in the event that Islamabad always tries to belong to other countries based on sovereign equality, mutual respect and the principles of peaceful co-existence. He said that establishing peaceful relations with India is Pakistan’s priority and diplomatic efforts should be made for this.

Tension increased in relations since Pulwama attack

Tension in relations between India and Pakistan increased after the Pulwama terror attack when India launched an air attack on terrorist bases in Balakot. After this, the relations deteriorated after India ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on 5 August 2019.

No bilateral talks have been held for eight years

There has been no formal bilateral talks between India and Pakistan for the last eight years, but both countries have been talking on multilateral forums. Given the recent developments, it is difficult to say when the process of talks between the two countries will start again.
