CRPF dismissed jawan: Munir Ahmed, a Jawan of CRPF, who hid the marriage of a Pakistani woman, has clarified these allegations. The sacked jawan said that in 2022 he had sought a permission to marry the department, but when he was delayed, he married Meenal through video conferencing in May, 2024. Talking to news agency ANI, Munir Ahmed also opened a big secret.

The sacked jawan told that he is married to his maternal sister and his marriage was decided in childhood. He said, ‘Meenal is my maternal uncle’s daughter. Before the India-Pakistan partition, my and his family lived in Jammu and Kashmir. At present, Meenal’s family lives in Sialkot, Pakistan. The relationship of both of us was decided in childhood.

Letter was written to the department for permission for marriage: Jawan

Munir Ahmed said, ‘I wrote a letter to the authorities on December 31, 2022 to allow marriage. On January 24, 2023, the authorities returned my letter with some objections and the wedding card, where will the marriage be, was asked for information. After this I sent a second letter, in which complete information about marriage was given. My letter Dig Jammu Range and CRPF went to Delhi and after about 5 months I got an answer, in which it was written that the applicant has informed the department.

Father cancer patient, Meenal’s family was not getting visa

The CRPF jawan told that my father is a cancer patient and on the other hand there was a delay in getting the letter of the department. Meenal was not even getting a visa. Because of this, we were married through video conferencing with the consent of both families. After about 9-10 months, Meenal got the desire of India visit. She came to India on 28 February 2025. I informed the department about this. The deputy commandant was also told. One has to apply for long term visas (LTV) within 15 days of getting a visit visa. We applied that. During this time our field verification for LTV was done. After this we were told that Meenal can live in India in LTV.

How to know about dismissal?

Regarding being dismissed from service, Munir Ahmed said that I came to know about my dismissal through media reports. I soon received a letter from CRPF, which gave information about my dismissal. This was a shock for me and my family as I had sought permission from the headquarters to marry Meenal Khan and informed even after marriage.

I also appeal to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to get justice.

The sacked jawan said, ‘I appeal to the PM and the Home Minister that I should be justice. What is being done to me, these are proof. I have also informed the department. Suddenly, this is being done with me. One is for the visa and the other to remove it from the service. We are upset. For this, we plead in front of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.

CRPF dismisses Munir Ahmed on 3 May

On 3 May 2025, CRPF dismissed Munir Ahmed from his job. The CRPF said that Munir hid the marriage of a Pakistani woman and placed her illegally without a visa in India, which is against the national security. Pakistani citizens were asked to leave India after the Pahalgam terror attack. On April 30, Meenal was also taken to the Attari border, but was not sent to Pakistan after the court order.
