The 63rd match of IPL 2026 is being played between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium i.e. Chepauk in Chennai. Chennai won the toss in this match and decided to bat first. Chennai created history in the very first over. Chennai scored 17 runs in the first over. This is Chennai’s second highest score in the first over in the history of IPL.

Nitish Kumar Reddy bowled the first over for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Reddy started with a no-ball. Then Sanju Samson hit a six on the free hit. Samson again hit a four on the next ball. After this, only two runs were scored in three balls, but Samson hit a four on the last ball. In this way 17 runs were scored in the first over. This is Chennai’s second highest score in the first over in the history of IPL. Earlier in IPL 2015, Chennai had scored 19 runs in the first over against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

MS Dhoni is not playing even today

Former Chennai captain and popularly known as Thala, MS Dhoni is not playing even today. However, he has not even retired from IPL today. Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad told after the toss that Dhoni is not fit yet. He also said that he can be seen playing in future. From this it became clear that Dhoni is not retiring yet.
