The process of examining patients in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital has now become easier, safer and more modern. Through new technology, identification of serious diseases will now be possible without surgery, which will provide relief to patients from time, risk and expense. Under this modern process, there will be no need for operation to remove tissue from the patient’s body for testing. Through modern CT scan technology, a sample of tissue or fluid will be taken by injecting it into the concerned organ.
With this process, diagnosis of the disease will be more accurate and the patient will also be saved from unnecessary pain and risk. Recently, two new CT scan machines have been introduced in the hospital, which will increase both the capacity and speed of testing.

Big relief in lung, liver and cancer tests

According to Professor Dr. Nishith Kumar, Nodal Officer of the Hospital’s Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme, this new testing method is very useful in confirming lung, liver, kidney lump, swelling present deep inside the chest or abdomen, bone related diseases and cancer. Through the clear imaging of CT scan, the doctor directs the needle to the exact location and completes the test by taking a very small sample from there.

Will get relief from expensive and risky surgery

Dr. Amita Malik, Chairman of the Radiology Department, said that earlier for such tests, many patients had to undergo biopsy through surgery. This process was not only expensive, but it was also prone to complications and taking a long time. This problem has been eliminated to a great extent by CT scan guided needle examination, because the risks are less and the results are more reliable.

Financially weak patients will get free benefits

Dr. Amita Malik told that this test done through CT scan will be made available completely free of cost. This will provide great relief especially to patients with weak financial condition. Now they will neither have to go to private hospitals nor wander in outside cities for confirmation of serious diseases.

New machines will increase testing capacity

According to Professor Dharmendra Kumar Singh, earlier there was only one CT scan machine in Safdarjung Hospital, through which about 150 patients could be examined daily. Due to the large number of patients, many times there was a long wait. Now with the addition of two new machines, there will be a significant increase in the daily CT scan tests. The hospital administration believes that with this facility, timely identification of serious diseases will be possible and patients will be able to get better treatment.

CT Scan Cancer Risk : Nowadays from minor injuries to serious diseases, doctors advise the patient to get CT scan immediately. With the help of this technology, it becomes very easy to identify the disease correctly, but on the other hand a new study has increased the concern.

According to research, repeated CT scan can increase the risk of cancer. After this study, many questions have arisen whether a CT scan should not be done. Let’s know the reason for this and what the study says …

What does study say
In a study published in Jama Internal Medicine, it has been told that if the CT scan continues to be on everything, then soon 5% will be responsible for 5% new cancer cases. According to the study, CT scan is done through radiation.

Science believes that dangerous radiation can cause cancer. A CT scan may reduce the risk but there is no risk, it cannot be said. Due to this, there is more danger to those who are younger. Especially children and teenagers come in the grip of this danger quickly.

Also read: These 3 diseases attack children in summer, be careful now!

What can be the reason
According to experts, from the age of 50, some people repeatedly get a CT scan, the exposure of radiation in their body increases significantly. It can cause damage to radiation cells and cause mutation in them, which increases the possibility of cancer in the future. Especially in chest and abscess (abdominal) CT scan, radiation doses are high, which can affect for a long time.

How much radiation is in CT scan
According to experts, a CT scan, chest or stomach creates radiation equal to 100 to 500 x-ray. Meaning if a patient needs frequent scans, such as cancer follow-ups, frequent injury or chronic disease, then the burden of radiation in his body increases gradually.

Who is more at risk
Children and youth
Patients who have repeated scan
Those who already have a risk of cancer
People with weak immune system

What to do, what not to do

Get scan only when needed. Ask the doctor whether MRI or ultrasound can work.
Keep a scan record. How many times, which part has been scanned, keep history.
Talk to the doctor or technician at radiation dose.
For children, ask for Pediatric Setting before CT scan.

Are ct scans high risk: In today’s time, medical science has progressed much further. For better treatment, various types of treatment and various types of tests are started, including CT scan. It is quite useful and effective technique, which is used to examine many conditions such as internal organs, bones, brain, and tumors. But a recent research has made a shocking disclosure. Actually, a research has been published in JAMA Internal Medicine magazine regarding CT scan. Let’s know about this research in detail-

Big disclosure in research

It has been told in this research that if a person has a repeated CT scan, which can cause cancer for that person. Let us know that this research has been done on the basis of scan on patients in this research.

It has been told in this research that 5 percent of the total cases of cancer can be caused by CT-scan. Such people have more risk of getting cancer, who have done CT scans many times in their lives. Research states that the radiation from the machine during the scan increases the risk of cancer.

Should we avoid a CT scan?

The CT scan is not necessarily harmful. It is a very useful and life -saving technique. But it is not right for your health, not excessively or without reason.

Also read – Blisters start falling in the whole body due to being in strong sunlight, know what is its symptoms and prevention

Doctors usually write a CT scan only when it is necessary. Instead, if MRI, ultrasound or other technology can get information about the patient’s disease, then the same option can be better because they do not have radiation.

What precautions to adopt?

If for some reason you have been advised to get a CT scan, then definitely ask the doctor whether there is any option other than this.

Give the doctor information about the old scan, so that repetition can be avoided.

Pay special attention in children’s scan, the use of low dose techniques should be used.

Pregnant women should never scan without medical advice.
