US Military Operation In Venezuela: 32 Cuban military and police officers have been killed in a US military operation in Venezuela. The Cuban government officially confirmed this on Sunday (January 4, 2026). This is the first official death toll made public by Cuba after the US attacks in Venezuela.

An official statement issued by the Cuban government said that all the Cuban military and police officers killed were deployed there at the request of the Venezuelan government and were working on a special mission. However, the Cuban government did not clarify what kind of responsibilities these officials were performing in Venezuela.

President Donald Trump said this in his statement

US President Donald Trump also mentioned this action. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One while returning to Washington from Florida on Sunday (January 4) night, Trump said, ‘You know, a lot of Cubans were killed yesterday. On the other hand, there have been many deaths. There were no deaths on our side.

Military action took place on January 3

America took this military action in Venezuela on Saturday (January 3, 2026). During this operation, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were taken into custody and taken to America. Both have been said to be prosecuted for their involvement in drug-related terrorist conspiracy, i.e. narco-terrorism. The Venezuelan government has admitted that some people were killed in the US attacks, but it did not tell the news agency AP (Associated Press) the total number of deaths.

National mourning declared in Cuba

The Cuban government has declared two days of national mourning in honor of the slain officers. Former Cuban President and revolutionary leader Raul Castro and current President Miguel Diaz-Canel have expressed condolences to the bereaved families. At present, the names and posts of the deceased officers have not been made public.

Hurricane Melissa, which arose in the Caribbean Sea, became more powerful by late night on Sunday (26 October 2025). According to the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), this storm can now reach Category 5, which means its wind speed can exceed 250 kilometers per hour.

It is the 13th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) had already warned that a higher than average number of storms could be seen this season.

Current position and speed of the storm
As of Sunday night, Melissa’s center was about 205 kilometers south-southwest of Jamaica’s capital Kingston and about 495 kilometers south-west of Cuba’s Guantanamo. This storm is moving towards the west at a speed of about 7 kilometers per hour. Its wind speed has been recorded at 230 kilometers per hour. NHC has warned that this storm could reach Category 5 status by Monday and affect Jamaica by Tuesday morning and Cuba and Bahamas by Wednesday (October 29, 2025).

State of emergency in Jamaica, airports closed

Extensive preparations have been started in Jamaica even before the impact of Hurricane Melissa. The government has closed both Norman Manley International (Kingston) and Sangster International (Montego Bay) airports. Residents of coastal areas like Old Harbor Bay have been ordered to evacuate their homes. Government Minister Desmond McKenzie said that more than 650 relief camps have been opened in Jamaica and thousands of food packets have been kept ready in advance. However, officials have expressed concern that many people are not following evacuation orders, which could make the situation more serious.

Danger of heavy rain and flood

According to NHC, Jamaica and southern Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican Republic) may receive 30 to 40 inches (up to 1 meter) of rain. There is a serious possibility of landslides, floods and power cuts due to such rains. Jamaica Meteorological Service director Ivan Thompson warned that storm surges could prove most destructive in the southern part of the island. There is a possibility of flood in every area, so people living in low-lying areas should immediately move to safe places. The NHC also said storm surge could reach up to 13 feet (4 meters) above ground level, inundating coastal areas.

Devastation in Haiti and Dominican Republic
At least four deaths have been confirmed so far, including three in Haiti and one in the Dominican Republic. Three people died and 5 were injured when a wall collapsed due to heavy rains in Haiti’s Sainte-Suzanne area. Due to heavy rains the water level of rivers has increased and many bridges have been washed away. Officials said that many villages have been completely cut off, making it difficult to deliver relief material.

Warning for Cuba and Bahamas
According to NHC’s forecast, the storm will affect eastern parts of Cuba by late night on Tuesday (28 October 2025). The Cuban government has issued a hurricane warning for the provinces of Granma, Santiago de Cuba, Guantanamo and Holguín, while a tropical storm warning has been issued for Las Tunas. There is a possibility of rain up to 12 inches (30 centimeters) in Cuba. At the same time, the Bahamas Meteorological Department said that the south-eastern and central Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands may come under the influence of the storm by the beginning of next week.

NHC Deputy Director Jamie Rome said that the situation in Jamaica and surrounding areas could deteriorate rapidly. People should be prepared for difficult conditions for several days. Meteorologists are calling it one of the most powerful Caribbean hurricanes in the last several years. He says that due to climate change, both the intensity and frequency of tropical storms are increasing in the Atlantic region.

Donald Trump’s Move for Depotation: US President Donald Trump is going to take major action against immigrant citizens living in the country. This was announced by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday (March 21). DHS said in its announcement that it would end the legal protection of more than 5 lakh immigrants of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Vengeuela in the US. After this step, the people of these countries will start to face the danger of mass deployment within 30 days.

According to an associated press report, this order of US President Donald Trump will have an impact on those who entered the United States under the Humanitarian Peraole Program from October 2022. Under this program, immigrants who came to America were allowed to live and work here for two years.

There will be big action on immigrants in 30 days

DHS secretary Christie Nom said in a statement, “After the notice is published in the Federal Register of America, the legal status of the said countries will be abolished by April 24 in 30 days.

The move by the US Donald Trump administration is going to affect around 5,32,000 people in Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela, which entered the US under the Pererol Program implemented to the Biden administration, who found financial sponsors here and were given temporary status in the US.

Decision taken after change in immigration policy

This decision by Donald Trump has been taken after a comprehensive change in the US Immigration Policy and reminds us of the steps of Donald Trump’s administration, which aims to prevent misuse under the Humanitarian payroll program.

According to the AP report, this legal weapon has been used historically to temporarily allow citizens of countries facing war or political instability to allow and live in the United States.

Us President Donald Trump: The Donald Trump administration has taken a major step over the migrant policy in the US and canceled the legal protection of 530,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela. After this decision, these immigrants may have to leave the US within about a month.

The Homeland Security Department announced that the immigrants of these countries who entered the US in October 2022 with financial sponsors will now be abolished. These migrants were given a two -year permit to live and work in America, which is now over. This step is part of the fast action against illegal migrants of Trump administration.

Human parole system end of legal status
The human parole system is a legal system, which has been used to temporarily entry and residence people from countries struggling with war or political instability. The former President Joe Biden’s tenure was allowed to enter the US under this system under this system. The Trump administration has accused the system that it has been widely misused and that is why it has been decided to end it. People who come under this have been asked to leave the US after April 24, so that a large number of people can face exile.

Trump administration’s stance on immigrants
Due to the tough stance of the Trump administration against illegal migrants, so far a record number of illegal migrants have been expelled from the US. The Trump administration says that the parole program launched by the Biden government was beyond legal limitations, and that is why it was decided to terminate it in January 2025 by issuing an executive order.

The decision indicates the strict immigrant policies of the US government, which especially affects migrants from countries with whom the US diplomat and political relations are stressful.

Joe Biden’s immigrant policy
Joe Biden started the parole entry program for the immigrants of Venezuela in 2022. After this, in 2023, the immigrants of Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua were also included in 2023. The Biden administration had given two years of parole to these immigrants, allowing them to work and reside in the US.

However, the Trump administration saw these policies as a violation of legal boundaries and made major changes in the immigrant policy, which has endangered the legal status of millions of immigrants.

Possible impact and further action
The decision to cancel the parole status by the Trump administration is going to make a widespread impact among the immigrants. It is not yet clear how many of these people have received legal status or other security options in America. There is a continuous political debate over the immigrant policy in the US, and with this decision, citizens of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela will now have to consider other options for their future. This decision of the Trump administration can make the situation more difficult for millions of migrants living in America.
