CUET UG 2026 Exam: The Common University Entrance Test i.e. CEUT UG 2026 examination, which is conducted for taking admission in Central Universities and Undergraduate courses across the country, has started today from May 11. This examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency in computer based test mode till 31 May 2026. This time around 15.7 lakh students had registered for the examination.

This examination is being conducted in India as well as abroad. The first shift of the first day has started from 9 am, while the second shift will run from 3 pm to 6 pm. In such a situation, NTA has also issued necessary guidelines for the students regarding the examination.

Exam is being conducted in two shifts

CEUT UG 2026 exam is being conducted in total 2 shifts. The first shift of the exam will be from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be from 3 to 6 pm. According to NTA, candidates should reach the exam center at least 1 to 2 hours before the commencement of the exam. No student will be allowed entry after the gate is closed.

What is the exam pattern?

CEUT UG exam is being conducted for 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and General Aptitude Test. 50 multiple choice questions will be asked in each subject and 60 minutes time will be given in each subject. The language section will have reading comprehension based questions, while the questions from domain subjects will be based on NCERT Class 12 syllabus. In the General Aptitude Test, questions related to General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning and Basic Maths will be asked.

What can students take to the exam centre?

According to the guidelines of NTA, candidates will have to take many important documents with them to the examination centre. These include hard copy of CEUT UG 2026 admit card, self-declaration form, one valid photograph, ID proof and two passport size photographs. Apart from this, students can also carry transparent water bottle and transparent ball point pen. PWD or PwBD candidates must carry their certificates. Permission has also been given to carry essential medicines and food items for students suffering from diabetes.

Which things are completely banned?

Carrying mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, calculators and other electronic devices inside the examination center will be completely prohibited. Apart from this, notes, books, written material, bags, purses, belts, cups, goggles and large jewelery will not be allowed. If the rules are violated, the candidate’s entry may be stopped.

What are the rules regarding dress code?

NTA has advised students to come wearing light and simple clothes. It has been said to avoid clothes with big buttons, many pockets and heavy accessories. Wearing normal shoes and low heel footwear will be allowed. Exemption has been given to wear things related to religious faith like Kalava, but candidates will have to reach before time for the screening process.

Rules related to seating and reporting

In the examination hall, students will be allotted seats on the basis of roll number and they will have to sit on their assigned seats only. Entry gates will be closed about 30 minutes before the start of the examination. In such a situation, students have been advised to check the address and shift timing of the center given on the admit card in advance so that they do not face any problem at the last moment.
