Big news has come for lakhs of students waiting for admission in Delhi University. According to officials, the admission process in undergraduate courses for the year 2026-27 session can start from the third week of May. This process will be started immediately after the commencement of the Common University Entrance Test 2026. So that students can get admission on time and there is no delay in the academic session.

Registration will start with CUET

The admission process of the university is completed through the Common Seat Allocation System portal. This process takes place in several stages, the first stage of which is registration. Officials say that as soon as the CUET exam starts, registration will also be started on the CSAS portal. According to the National Testing Agency, CUET-UG 2026 exam can be conducted between May 11 and May 31. On this basis, Delhi University will take its admission process forward.

Admission will depend on CUET result

Admission through CSAS portal will be primarily based on CUET score. After the result of the examination is declared, students will be able to apply for their favorite course on the basis of subject mapping. This process is very important for the students, because through this their merit and seat allocation is decided. Delhi University’s Admission Dean Haneet Gandhi has advised the students to choose the right subject for CUET, which they have studied in class 12. He has clarified that for subject mapping, at least 50 percent similarity between the two will be necessary. If this does not happen then there may be problems in the admission process.

Preparation to speed up the admission process

This time the focus of Delhi University is to complete the admission process as soon as possible. So that classes can start on time. For this, a plan is being made to reduce the duration of each round of seat allocation. Officials believe that cutting one or two days in each round can speed up the entire process. In the last few years, after the implementation of seat-based admission system, teachers have expressed concern about the delay in admission in the university. He says that this affects the academic calendar, hence this time special emphasis is being laid on completing the process on time.
