After the medical entrance exam NEET UG 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has now shared important information regarding the Common University Entrance Test i.e. CUET UG 2026. CUET is conducted for admission to Under Graduate (UG) courses in major central, state and many private universities of the country. Every year lakhs of students appear in this examination, hence every update related to it is very important for the students.

This time, NTA has issued a new advisory regarding CUET 2026, in which information about the syllabus, possible dates of the exam, number of subjects and necessary documents related to the application process has been given. The special thing is that in 2026, CUET exam will be conducted in the month of May and students will get the option to choose a total of 5 subjects.

CUET UG exam will be held in May 2026

According to the advisory of NTA, CUET UG 2026 will be conducted in May 2026. According to media reports and sources, the examination may start between 13 to 15 May 2026. However, the exact dates of the examination will be announced later through official notification.

The online registration process for CUET is likely to start in the last week of February or the first week of March 2026. In such a situation, students who are preparing for CUET should focus on both their documents and studies from now on.

Prepare according to the syllabus topic of CUET 2026

NTA has clearly said that the complete syllabus of CUET 2026 has been uploaded on the website. Different topics have been given for each subject and students will have to prepare based on them.

CUET syllabus is mainly based on NCERT books. Experts believe that mere memorization will not suffice, but it is important to understand the concepts well. Students who read NCERT books carefully and develop basic understanding of the subject will have higher chances of scoring good marks.

CUET UG 2026 exam will be held in total 37 subjects

A total of 37 subjects will be conducted in CUET UG 2026. These include language subjects, domain subjects and a general aptitude test. CUET exam will be conducted in 13 languages, which include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu. Chance to choose only 5 subjects in 2026

A major change in CUET 2026 is that students will get the option to appear for the exam in only 5 subjects. The purpose of this change is to make the examination more simple and focused, so that students can prepare better according to their chosen course. CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. Before applying, students must ensure that their Aadhar card is updated.

Big news has come out for millions of students waiting for Common University Entrance Test (CUET-OG) 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the final answer key of Cuet UG 2025 on 1 July. Candidates can now download it by visiting cuet.nta.nic.in. This will help the students to guess their possible score and will also facilitate the preparation of the result.

27 questions removed

NTA has removed a total of 27 questions in the final answer key this time, that is, these questions will not be included in the evaluation. This can give relief to the students because due to the mistakes of these questions, no longer will affect their score.

Result will be declared soon

Now that the final answer key has been released, it is expected that the result of Cuet UG 2025 will be declared very soon. Looking at the trend of previous years, it is possible that the results come in a few days. Students are advised to keep visiting the website of NTA regularly.

When was the exam done?

The CUET UG 2025 exam was held between 13 May to 4 June. It was held at 388 centers across the country and 24 centers from abroad. The examination included 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects and a general qualification examination. For this, the provisional answer key was released on 17 June and the students got a chance to register objections by June 20.

Delhi -based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is once again at the center of dispute between students and administration. This time the issue is demanding to bring back the university entrance examination (JNUEE). JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) has intensified its movement on this demand.

Students demand that the university should conduct entrance examination by itself instead of Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Students believe that JNU’s own JNUEE (JNUEE) was more justified and transparent, in which social diversity and ideological diversity were respected.

On May 24, a referendum was held by the Students’ Union on this issue, in which about 93 percent of the students voted in support of JNUEE. That is, a large number of students want the admission process to be the same.

Students’ Union President Nitish Kumar informed that he has tried to meet the Vice Chancellor on this issue many times, but every time some conditions come from the administration. Recently, the Vice Chancellor’s office made a condition through email that the meeting will be held only when the four officials of the students’ union are present. But Nitish Kumar made it clear that the referendum was done with the consent of the president, vice -president and general secretary, the Joint Secretary (ABVP representative) had no role in this.

Students say that if Hyderabad University and other central universities can conduct their respective entrance examinations successfully, then why can’t JNU do this? He argues that the structure of an examination like CUET does not take into consideration the uniqueness of an institute like JNU. JNUSU is now busy in gathering support by going to every corner offices, departments and hostels of the university. Discussions are being organized, so that more and more students can join this campaign.

What to say about the student union?

So far there has been no concrete response from the administration to this demand. But the students’ union says that they are not going to retreat and the movement will continue till JNUEE is restored. Overall, this matter is now not only about the examination system, but has also been related to the autonomy of the university and the right to student participation. This movement can be intensified in the coming days.
