The special thing is that in this process, not only JEE and CUET scores, but also will be given admission on the basis of 12th grade marks. That is, students who had not given any entrance examination till now, they can also apply.

The final date for registration and fee depositing for the first round has been fixed on August 28. After this, students will be able to choose colleges and courses of their choice by 31 August. The allocation of seats will be done on 2 September. The second round will start immediately after this, in which registration and fees will have to be deposited on September 7 and 8. This will be followed by Choice filling till 10 September and seat allotment will be done on 11 September.

Delhi -based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is once again at the center of dispute between students and administration. This time the issue is demanding to bring back the university entrance examination (JNUEE). JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) has intensified its movement on this demand.

Students demand that the university should conduct entrance examination by itself instead of Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Students believe that JNU’s own JNUEE (JNUEE) was more justified and transparent, in which social diversity and ideological diversity were respected.

On May 24, a referendum was held by the Students’ Union on this issue, in which about 93 percent of the students voted in support of JNUEE. That is, a large number of students want the admission process to be the same.

Students’ Union President Nitish Kumar informed that he has tried to meet the Vice Chancellor on this issue many times, but every time some conditions come from the administration. Recently, the Vice Chancellor’s office made a condition through email that the meeting will be held only when the four officials of the students’ union are present. But Nitish Kumar made it clear that the referendum was done with the consent of the president, vice -president and general secretary, the Joint Secretary (ABVP representative) had no role in this.

Students say that if Hyderabad University and other central universities can conduct their respective entrance examinations successfully, then why can’t JNU do this? He argues that the structure of an examination like CUET does not take into consideration the uniqueness of an institute like JNU. JNUSU is now busy in gathering support by going to every corner offices, departments and hostels of the university. Discussions are being organized, so that more and more students can join this campaign.

What to say about the student union?

So far there has been no concrete response from the administration to this demand. But the students’ union says that they are not going to retreat and the movement will continue till JNUEE is restored. Delhi high court news: The Delhi High Court, underlining the ‘purity and discipline’ of the examination, refused to give relief to the student who appeared with a delay of six minutes in the ‘CUT’ (CUET). The 18 -year -old student claimed that on May 13, she reached the examination center at around 8.36 am after six minutes from the scheduled time of the examination, but was not given admission.

Gates closed around 8.30 am

The bench of Justice Pratibha M Singh and Justice Rajneesh Kumar Gupta was hearing a student’s plea against the order of a single judge refusing to intervene in the case. The bench found that very clear instructions were given about reaching the center at around 7 am before the start of the examination in the information bulletin and admit card of the National Examination Authority and it was told that the gates would be closed around 8.30 am. The bench said that negligence in conducting such a big examination will create chaos and ‘discipline of the examination should be maintained’.

The court said on May 31, “CUET is an important entrance examination and arriving in the examination hall on time, reaching the seat on time and being in the center before the closure of the gate, all these are part of the discipline and ethos of the examination system, which should not be relaxed. Because this can create huge inequality among students with similar conditions. ”

Student’s appeal rejected

The bench rejected the student’s appeal and said, “Anyone may feel that it was only six minutes of case, but the authorities cannot be blamed for strictly implementing the rule at the time of the gate.”

The court said, “CUET UG exam is an examination that includes more than 13.54 lakh students from across the country. If exceptions are placed, and discipline is not followed in such an examination, timely conducting of examination, timely announcement of results and timely entry into colleges and universities can all be in danger and will have a widespread impact. In such cases, court intervention should be minimized. ”
