Taking action in a major case related to cyber fraud, ED has temporarily attached 7 properties related to Tushar Kharbanda. The price of these properties is around Rs 11.26 crore. This action has been taken by the team of ED’s Delhi Zonal Office. All these properties are present in Delhi-NCR and Dubai, which are registered in the name of Tushar Kharbanda and his family.

ED’s investigation started on the basis of FIR of CBI and Delhi Police. Investigation revealed that Tushar Kharbanda and his team had cheated foreign nationals by running an illegal call center in Noida. People committing fraud used to scare foreigners by pretending to be officers of police or any investigating agency. Like there is a case against you, your bank account will be frozen, you can be arrested. Due to this fear, he used to extort lakhs and crores of rupees from them. The investigation also revealed that the defrauded money was first converted into crypto currency.

Property purchased with crypto currency

A total of 351.8605 bitcoins were found in the crypto wallet controlled by Tushar Kharbanda, whose current value is approximately Rs 280 crore. These bitcoins were further converted into USDT and then sent to different wallets and people and converted into cash. According to ED, Tushar Kharbanda brought the fraud money from UAE to India through hawala and non-banking channels and bought a large amount of property.

Many properties in UAE were also purchased in cash, two of which are still in his name. ED has also attached both these properties under PMLA. In this case, on 06 August 2025, ED had raided many places. In the raid, ED found many properties in UAE and Noida. Crypto currency kept on crypto exchange was also found. Crypto worth about 0.29 BTC (Rs 28.90 lakh) had already been attached by ED. According to ED, the investigation of the case is still going on.

Cyber thug cases have increased rapidly in the last few years. There have been many such cases, in which people were arrested digital by becoming fake police, CBI officers and millions of rupees were cheated. Thugs are making people their victims by accessing store information on the Internet. However, people who do not have internet are also making them their victims. In such a situation, the question arises that how do they have our knowledge without internet? Apart from this, people who do not have internet, how are they being hunted. Let us tell you how the thugs are also making those who do not use internet their victims?

How to make people hunting without internet?

Even if you do not use internet, thugs can comfortably make you a victim. Actually, for this they raise your data from another place. In this, they leak data from social sites, hospitals, shops or government offices etc. or remove data somehow. Then we use this data for cheating with you. The data of many people is also taken out from the phone of one of their relatives, such as your mobile number, address etc. they take out. In this way, even if you do not use internet, even thugs make you cyber hunting.

How can you keep yourself safe?

In today’s era, if you do not keep yourself safe, then you can be a victim of cyber fraud. To avoid this, if you are using email or any online service, then try that its password is very strong. Do not accidentally keep your name, mobile number or date of work password by mistake. Try to always use two-factor authentication. If you get an unknown mail or message and any link has been given in it, then do not try to open it by mistake. If someone is calling you by calling that I am speaking a police officer or another officer. If he says that you are arrested or your Aadhaar or other document is wrongly used, then ignore such calls. Always keep your phone updated. If a security feature update comes, then do it, this keeps your phone safe.

Scammers are adopting new tactics for online fraud. Many times cheating is done in such a vicious way that the victim does not even get a clue. One such case has come up in Hyderabad. Here cyber thugs tried to cheat the company’s accountant on WhatsApp by copying the profile of the managing director (MD) of a big company. The thugs sent a message to transfer Rs 1.95 crore to the employee in the name of MD. Here the employee could not even know that the person messaging is not the real MD of the company. Due to which he also transferred such a huge amount. What happened after that, let’s tell you the whole matter.

Cyber thugs big in Hyderabad Case It has surfaced in which an attempt was made to cheat Rs 1.95 crore by messaging on WhatsApp in the name of MD. The message came to the company’s accountant to transfer Rs 1.95 crore for a project. The employee could not understand that the MD is not real, and he transferred the amount. But when the real MD came to know that such a huge amount had been transferred from the account, the fraud was revealed.

The real MD of the company immediately sought information from the employee about this and told that no such message was made on WhatsApp on their behalf. The company immediately lodged a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP). The cybercrime cell then tracked the transaction rapidly. Thankfully, the thugs did not withdraw money from the account at that time. Therefore, an amount of Rs 1.95 crore was recovered.

The most shocking thing here was that the company’s accountant officer did not suspect that the message was being made by a fraud person, because the profile picture, name and language of the sender were the same as real. So the accountant transferred Rs 1.95 crore without delay. After some time, when the real MD received information about this big transaction from the bank, the fraud was detected and it was stopped in time.
