Cyber crimes are continuously increasing in India and misuse of technology is making criminals more capable than before. In this environment, the case of a 57-year-old female software engineer came to light, who was trapped in a long digital scam by criminals by putting her under psychological pressure, false allegations and video surveillance for months. The fraud began in September 2024 and continued for six months, in which the criminals misled the victim by posing as DHL officers, Mumbai Police and later CBI officers.

The incident escalated when the victim was informed that a parcel sent in her name had been intercepted in Andheri, Mumbai. The caller claimed that several passports, credit cards and banned drugs were found in the parcel. When the woman refused, she was threatened that her identity had been linked to this case and the case was registered under cyber crime. As soon as the call was transferred to the so-called CBI officer, the story became more serious.

Digital Arrest Scam Strategy of Fake CBI Officer

From the very beginning, the fake CBI officer made the victim believe that there was evidence against her and if she did not cooperate, she would be immediately arrested. She was also told that her house was being watched and that giving information to anyone could cause harm to the family. This atmosphere of fear gradually completely dominated his decisions.

digital arrest scam skype video surveillance

After this, the victim was instructed to create two new Skype IDs and remain on video calls continuously. The criminals, who spoke under different names, kept watching her 24 hours a day, telling her who she could talk to and where she could go. This surveillance gradually turned into a digital captivity.

How the demand for money increased in digital arrest scam

The talks reached financial information from October 2024. The victim was explained that she was under investigation and would need to send her money for “verification.” Gradually he started withdrawing his deposits and made many transactions between banks. Within a few weeks, a total of Rs 31.83 crore was sent through 187 transactions in the name of processing, tax and security fees. This is considered to be one of the biggest cyber fraud faced by any person in India.

Mental impact due to digital arrest scam

Constant video surveillance, the stress of not being able to talk to anyone and the fear of arrest made the victim extremely mentally weak. His daily routine was limited to the orders of the criminals, due to which his self-confidence and emotional balance was broken. He required medical treatment after the incident.

How to build trust in digital arrest scam

From time to time, the criminals sent fake documents, scanned copies and fake clearance letters assuring him that the money would be returned in February 2025 after the completion of their investigation. Later this date was extended till March and finally the criminals disappeared completely. This deception deeply hurt the victim’s emotions, family and financial security.

Digital Arrest Scam FIR
The victim lodged a complaint in June 2025. Now Bengaluru Police is investigating this matter and considering it as a serious cyber racket linked to interstate and international networks. The investigating agencies are monitoring the digital evidence, call routes and Skype ID with the help of which the criminals committed such a huge crime.

A scary case of cybercrime has come to light in Hyderabad. Here cyber criminals kept a 76 -year -old retired government doctor digital arrest for three days. These criminals made a call to the doctor as a government official and also cheated Rs 6.6 lakh while keeping a digital arrest. The troubled victim suffered a heart attack and died. The criminals continued to send messages even after the victim’s death.

Case started with WhatsApp call

According to reports, on September 5, the victim gets a video call on WhatsApp. The caller had installed the logo of the Bengaluru Police as a profile picture. The callers also showed documents with the Supreme Court, ED and RBI seal to intimidate the woman. Scammers told the woman that her name has come in a case of human trafficking and if she does not give the money, she will be arrested.

Woman sent money due to fear

Fearing arrest, the woman transferred Rs 6.6 lakh from her pension account to the account of scammers. Scammers did not stop even after this, he continued to threaten the woman through video calls and messages. On September 8, after about 70 hours of digital arrest, the victim had chest pain. After this he was taken to the hospital, but could not survive his life. The family came to know about the woman being digital arrest after the funeral on 9 September.

How to protect yourself from such scam?

Remember that there is no provision of digital arrest in Indian law. So if someone is asking you to arrest digital, then be cautious.

If someone is calling you as a government official, then know the name, post and department’s name and verify it in an official way.

Do not share your sensitive information on mail, message or call with any unknown or suspicious person.

There is a flood of scam on the Internet and mobile these days. Scammers are making people their prey in different ways. Recently information about a new scam has been revealed. In this, scammers are sending wedding cards to people through WhatsApp. As soon as someone clicks on these wedding cards, money is blown away from his account. Actually, in these wedding cards, scammers send APK files on the phone of people, which gather their necessary information.

Case revealed from Maharashtra

In Hingoli district of Maharashtra, a wedding card came in a message from an unknown number on WhatsApp of a government employee. It was written in its caption, ‘Welcome, definitely come to the wedding.’ As soon as the employee clicked on it, he flew 1.90 lakh rupees from his account shortly. Actually, it was an APK file rather than a wedding card. With the help of this, the scammers stole his necessary information and data, with the help of which he succeeded in making a dent in his bank account. The victim has given a complaint to the police regarding this matter.

How to protect yourself from such scam

This was not the first such case. Last year also a case came to light, in which scammers had cheated by sending malware as a wedding card. Now once again such incidents are increasing. Therefore, by taking care of some important things, yourself can be kept safe.

Do not open unknown numbers or messages from the person on social media or mail.
If a message looks suspicious, always call the sender and verify it.
Do not give your personal information to any suspect or unknown person on social media.
If a suspect or unknown person is sending you a message, then block it and inform the investigating agencies.

Which you understood ‘True Love’, may be true only till ‘True Caller’. Because the story of the film ‘Saiyaara’ is forcing people to swing in theaters, but the UP police has given such a cyber warning in the name of the same Saira that even laughing and laughing should be done. Because now the cheating in love is not limited to breaking the heart. Now it becomes a digital fraud and lightens the pocket directly. And look at the style, first ‘I love you jaanu’ will say, then speak ‘OTP’ … and when you send it, the bank balance will also fly away.

UP police made people aware of Saira film

The UP Police has recently posted a fun and vigilance on its official social media handle, in which people have been made aware of OTP fraud using the theme of the film Saira. In the post, two people are shown chatting on the computer. On one side there is a girl who is probably lost in love and on the other side is a hoodie wearing cyber thug, whose eye is only on OTP and password. The line of the post is … “Somewhere your online Saira, cyber thugs may not go out.” And written below .. “Caution, accident happened”. This creative of UP Police is really comfortable. Such use of pop culture and trending films has been seen earlier to relate people, but the punch here is directly on both heart and mind.

‘Scam not yara’ from ‘Saira’

Seeing ‘Saira’, people are fainting in theaters…
But real fainting will be then,
When ‘I love you’ will come ‘OTP’ after ‘I Love You’.
And the balance of the account will show ₹ 0.

क्या give heart, not OTP.#Saiyaarasesavdhaan#Cybersaferaho #ThinkbeforeyouClick, pic.twitter.com/wuqz0jio2

– UP Police (@UPPOLICE) July 22, 2025

Give heart not OTP

The more fun this post is, the more important. Because nowadays frauds have increased considerably through social media and dating apps. First love drama, then emotional trap and then hand clean on bank accounts. This initiative of UP Police brings the same message to give heart to someone, but do not give data to anyone. After the post went viral on social media, users are now giving various reactions.

Also read: Real hero in school uniform! In public, the child taught this to a lesson, users started praising- Watch the video

For the first time in the country, the country has been sentenced for cheating people by arresting digital arrest. The accused of digital arrest has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment. It was told that Cyber fraudsters Devashish Rai, who cheated by digital arrest, have been sentenced.

The fraudster, who was punished within 14 months, could not get bail even once during the hearing. The fraudster has also imposed a fine of 68 thousand rupees.

In fact, this miscreant, who hails from the draft of Azamgarh, had fraudulently fraudulently showed a fear of digital arrest from Dr. Soumya Gupta, a resident of Lucknow. The cybercrime police arrested the convict from Mandakini apartment of Gomtinagar expansion within five days of filing a case in this case and sent him to jail.

Women doctor was cheated by digital arrest
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime Kamlesh Dixit said that Devashish Rai, a resident of Gomtinagar Extension Sulabh Housing, has been sentenced to 7 years.

According to the DCP, in May 2024, Devashish called KGMU, a resident of Indraprastha Colony of the metropolis, Soumya Gupta and described himself as a custom officer and said that a cargo has been booked in his name, in which fake passports, ATM cards and 140 grams of MDM (drug drugs) have been recovered. Its accused cheated Dr. Soumya for 10 days and cheated Rs 85 lakh.

Bail petition of every rejected accused
The DCP said that Inspector Brijesh Kumar Yadav, who was investigating the case, arrested Devashish, who was hiding his identity, from the Mandakini apartment of Gomtinagar expansion within five days. In three months, he completed the investigation and filed a charge sheet against the guilty. The police, along with the prosecution, advocated effectively in the court. Devashish’s bail was rejected on every date from proper lobbying.

Cyber thug cases have increased rapidly in the last few years. There have been many such cases, in which people were arrested digital by becoming fake police, CBI officers and millions of rupees were cheated. Thugs are making people their victims by accessing store information on the Internet. However, people who do not have internet are also making them their victims. In such a situation, the question arises that how do they have our knowledge without internet? Apart from this, people who do not have internet, how are they being hunted. Let us tell you how the thugs are also making those who do not use internet their victims?

How to make people hunting without internet?

Even if you do not use internet, thugs can comfortably make you a victim. Actually, for this they raise your data from another place. In this, they leak data from social sites, hospitals, shops or government offices etc. or remove data somehow. Then we use this data for cheating with you. The data of many people is also taken out from the phone of one of their relatives, such as your mobile number, address etc. they take out. In this way, even if you do not use internet, even thugs make you cyber hunting.

How can you keep yourself safe?

In today’s era, if you do not keep yourself safe, then you can be a victim of cyber fraud. To avoid this, if you are using email or any online service, then try that its password is very strong. Do not accidentally keep your name, mobile number or date of work password by mistake. Try to always use two-factor authentication. If you get an unknown mail or message and any link has been given in it, then do not try to open it by mistake. If someone is calling you by calling that I am speaking a police officer or another officer. If he says that you are arrested or your Aadhaar or other document is wrongly used, then ignore such calls. Always keep your phone updated. If a security feature update comes, then do it, this keeps your phone safe.

The American technology company Google aims to stop the cybercrime of about Rs 20,000 crore in India this year. Last year, there were frauds worth about Rs 1,087 crore associated with Unified Payment Interface (UPI) in the country. Millions of scams and forged advertisements have already been blocked before Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool.

A media Report According to, Google has introduced its detailed safety charter for India. This includes remedies for security of artificial intelligence (AI) support from which people of the country can avoid cybercrimes up to Rs 20,000 crore this year. To cheat people, scammers have increased the use of AI generated content and deepfac. This Safety Charter of Google consists of three major points. These are to protect users from online fraud, increase cyber security for public infrastructure and to carry forward AI in a responsibility manner.

About 17.7 million users have been made aware about fraud through Google’s Digikavach program. This awareness program will be expanded in partnership with the Central Government’s Cyber Crime Cordination Center (I4C). Google’s VP and Country Manager in the country, Preti Lobana said, “Digital ecosystem can only become a source of growth when people using it feel safe.” The company’s AI systems are providing effective results on their consumer platforms. Google’s messages are securing users with more than 50 crore suspicious messages every month through AI powered scam detection. Google Pay has displayed around 4.1 million transactions for fraud.

The company’s search engine is holding the scam pages 20 times more than before. The Google Play Protect has blocked about six crore attempts to install higher risk apps since its launch in October last year. With this, more than 1.2 crore devices have been saved from malware. Last year, Google removed about 24.7 million fraud ads. Apart from this, about 29 lakh accounts were blocked due to violation of the company’s policy.
<!--

Uae alert on Studio ghibli: People around the world are transforming their photos into the artistic style of Japanese’s famous animation studio Studio Ghibli. Apps and websites like AI tools have made this process easier. Just upload the photo and prepare a ghibli-style avatar in a few minutes. This trend is not limited to animation lovers only, now social media influencers, common users and even children are becoming crazy about these avatars. But as its craze increased, concerns of experts have also come to light.

Cyber security experts in UAE have expressed concern over the GHIBLI trend. CTO Nikolai Soling of Help AG clearly stated that uploading facial photos on these AI platforms means that you are publicly sharing biometric identity, which cannot be found back once the theft.

What is STUDIO GHIBLI’s potential hazards
Studio Ghibli is being used indiscriminately. However, there is also possible threats about this, which are the following.

Can easily make facial facial mapping.
High-resolution image processing.
Fear of bypassing real-time facial recognition systems
Through these avatars, not only your identity but also your device data and location metadata can also be in danger.

AI models can be trained on privacy
Very few people read their privacy policy before using these AI tools. In most cases, the purpose of these apps is not just an avatar but your photos can be used to train AI models. If you are using a free version of a tool, then there is a possibility that you are paying the price of that service by giving your digital identity. Date can be used to make Deepfake with the help of AI tool.

Fake identity and threat of cybercrime
Cyber criminals can use these pictures to steal digital identity, create fake profiles or cheat online. AI generated high-resolution images have now become so realistic that they can also mislead facial recognition systems.

Opinion of experts
AI based avatars can be used to cheat banking systems, face unlock features, and public camera surveillance. Fake accounts can be created in the name of users by misusing detta. According to social media strategist Sara Johnson, Gibly Avatar is a creative way to express himself, but the price of your privacy is also hidden in it. According to experts, apps should think before giving necessary permissions. Pay attention to reading a privacy policy. Need to understand the terms of data storage and use before uploading your photos.
