Dalai lama 90th birthday: A grand ceremony was held at Sambhota Tibetan School in Chhota Shimla on the occasion of 90th birthday of the Spiritual Guru Dalai Lama, the spiritual guru of the Tibetan community in Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Describing the Dalai Lama as a symbol of world peace, compassion, unity and humanity, the Deputy Chief Minister said that his life is an example of truth, non-violence and compassion and he is an inspiration not only for the Tibetan community but also for the whole world.

His residence in Dharamshala is a matter of pride – Mukesh Agnihotri

Mukesh Agnihotri said that his residence in Himachal’s land Dharamshala is a matter of pride for all of us. The credit for Dharamshala getting international recognition also goes to the Holiness Dalai Lama. He said that every Indian should get information about Tibetan culture and history.

He said that the Government of India and Himachal Pradesh have always treated affection and brotherhood with the Tibetan community. We live like a family with the Tibetan community and the Tibetan community has got a good atmosphere here.

Tibetan community was also given the right to vote

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government has taken many important steps from time to time to protect the interests of the Tibetan community and the previous Congress governments have contributed significantly. Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had deep faith in Buddhism and Param Holiness Dalai Lama.

He said that the Tibetan community has also been given the right to vote, which is an example of democratic traditions of India. The Deputy Chief Minister assured that Tibetan artists will be given an opportunity to showcase their culture in fairs and festivals held in the state.

School children presented cultural programs

The Deputy Chief Minister also instructed the Department of Language, Arts and Culture to preserve the Tibetan cultural heritage. He stressed the need to save and pursue the Tibetan traditional medical system. During this, he also launched a free medical camp.

In the program, people from Tibetan community and school children presented cultural programs. On this occasion, the President of India-Tibet Friendship Association, Prof. VS Negi highlighted Tibetan culture and history.

Chief Representative Officer Lakhapa Tsering welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister and gave detailed information about organizing the program.

Dalai lama on succession: The controversy over the rebirth of the Dalai Lama is once again deepening. Chinese Ambassador to India Shoo Faihong has clearly stated that the 14th Dalai Lama has no right to decide whether the centuries -old tradition of rebirth will run or not. His statement came at a time when the Dalai Lama made public the plan of his successor and expressed his confidence in rebirth for the first time.

China said – tradition did not start with any one
The Chinese Ambassador said on the social media platform x, “The rebirth of the Dalai Lamas neither started from the present Dalai Lama nor will end with them.” He described it as a 700 -year -old tradition and claimed that it is a religious tradition which is not only in the right of any one person.

More than thousand rebirth traditions are still active: China
According to China, the ‘Living Buddha rebirth system’ is a distinctive religious method of Tibetan Buddhism, which is still active in Tibet and its surrounding areas such as Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu, and Chinghai. There are more than 1,000 rebirth traditions.

Dalai Lama gives responsibility to trust
At his 90th birthday conference held in Dharamshala, the Dalai Lama said that his successor will be identified by a trust and not by the Chinese government. He also clarified that the process would include spiritual leaders, deported Tibetan government and other necessary aspects.

China’s strict reaction
China reacted immediately and reiterated that any rebirth will be recognized only when it was approved by the Central Government of China. Beijing cited the 2007 law, stating that the right to rebirth is under the control of the state. However, the Tibetan community and Buddhist religious leaders completely reject this claim.

Dalai lama successor controversy: The Tibetan Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama has once again made it clear that their organization will not end and they will definitely be reborn. Giving a strong message to China and his followers, he said that who will be the next Dalai Lama, this decision will be taken only spiritually.

After this statement of the Dalai Lama, the stir from China to America has intensified, while there has been a wave of happiness in the Buddhist community of Tibet. Penpa Tsering, the head of Tibet’s exiled government, has also strongly condemned the intervention of China. He said, “Rebirth is not a political issue, but a completely spiritual process. China cannot interfere with it.” Penpa further said that only the religious leaders themselves decide where his next birth will be. This is not the subject of China. He described China’s intervention as baseless and unfair.

Penpa Tsering said this big thing

Peenpa Tsering said that China should first understand Tibetan culture, Buddhism and life after death. He taunted and said, “If China really believes in rebirth, then it should first seek the rebirth of its leaders, such as Mao Jedong, Jiang Zemin etc.”.

Gold Aron process rejected

Peenpa Tsering also rejected China’s demand which said that the next Dalai Lama should be selected under the ‘Gold Arn’ process. He said that this process was started by the Ching Dynasty in 1793, so that control over Tibet could be increased, but before that the first eight Dalai Lama was selected without this process. This tradition is not part of Tibetan culture.

The successor will not be announced now

Pempa Tsering also made it clear that the successor will not be announced on the 90th birth anniversary of the Dalai Lama. He said that many people had misunderstandings about this, but the Dalai Lama himself has said that they will live at least 20 more years and will be given information related to the successor only when the appropriate time comes.

China accused of spreading religious division

Peenpa Tsering accused China of trying to divide among the Buddhist community in Tibet. He said, “This trick will not work. We will keep raising our voice against it. This attitude of China will not last long.”
