Danapur assembly seat is being discussed the most in Bihar elections. The history here is very interesting. This time there is a contest between BJP and RJD on Danapur seat. RJD has given ticket to Ritlal Yadav from here.

This area comes under Patliputra Lok Sabha seat and like every time, this time too it has become the center of an exciting contest between RJD and BJP.

This time BJP has made Ramkripal Yadav its candidate from Danapur assembly constituency. He was also elected MP from Patliputra, but had to face defeat from Misa Bharti in the 2024 elections.

In 1985, an independent candidate also surprised politics by winning from here. The political history of Danapur assembly constituency is deeply linked to Lalu Prasad Yadav. He contested this seat in 1995 and 2000 and won both times, although he later vacated the seat.

In the by-elections held after Lalu Prasad Yadav, first BJP’s Vijay Singh Yadav (1996) and then RJD’s Ramanand Yadav (2002) were victorious.

The most interesting thing about the politics of Danapur is that Yadav voters play a decisive role here. This is the reason why Lalu Prasad Yadav himself had contested elections from this seat twice. The geographical and social diversity of Danapur makes it unique. On one hand there is the glitter of the urban area, on the other hand there is fertile rural area and on the third hand there is the Deara area spread in the middle of Ganga.

In the 2025 assembly elections, we can once again see a direct and tough contest between Ritlal Yadav and BJP candidate Ram Kripal Yadav.
