The batsmen of Delhi Capitals had no match against the bowlers of Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Captain Akshar Patel was seen batting like a test. He scored only 11 runs in 22 balls. Nitish Rana was out after scoring 08 runs in 10 balls, Sameer Rizvi was out after scoring 03 runs in 7 balls and Tristan Stubbs was out after scoring 02 runs in 4 balls. Although Delhi had started with a bang, KKR bowlers dominated in the middle overs. At one time Delhi’s score was 74 runs in 8 overs, but in 15 overs the score reached only 96. That means only 22 runs were scored in the middle 7 overs. In the beginning Pathum Nissanka played a brilliant inning of 50 runs in 29 balls and in the end Ashutosh Sharma scored 39 runs in 28 balls. In this way Delhi team could reach 142 runs in 20 overs. Now KKR has a target of 143 for the fourth win.

Delhi’s score in the powerplay was 55 runs for one wicket, but after this only 36 runs were scored in the next six overs and four wickets fell. In the middle overs, KKR bowlers, especially the spinners, kept the Delhi batsmen at bay. Nissanka hit a brilliant six of 73 meters over fine leg to Green in the eighth over. At the other end, Nitish Rana could not play well and returned after scoring eight runs after being caught by Narine. Varun gave only three runs in the ninth over.

Sameer Rizvi (three) while trying to play a sweep shot to Narine, was caught by Rovman Powell at deep midwicket. Meanwhile, Nissanka completed his half-century in 29 balls by hitting a four off Roy over extra cover in the tenth over, which included five fours and three sixes. However, he missed in his attempt to play the next ball and Angkrish Raghuvanshi made no mistake in stumping behind the wicket.

Roy gave four runs in the 13th over while Varun Chakraborty, Karthik Tyagi and Sunil Narine gave only two runs each in the subsequent overs. Ashutosh Sharma reduced the pressure by hitting a six off Varun in the 17th over while hitting a boundary after 38 balls. In this over, he scored 16 runs while hitting two more fours.

Ashutosh displayed his skills and hit Tyagi for a spectacular six at deep third man. Sensing the ball going out of the off stump above his shoulder, he turned the bat and turned the ball towards deep third man.
