NCERT has released a new Sanskrit textbook ‘Deepakam’ for Class 8 students, which has been prepared according to the new education policy (NEP 2020) and the National Curriculum Fund (NCF 2023). The purpose of this book is not only to teach Sanskrit language, but also to develop logical thinking, creativity and human values in children.

The most special thing about this book is that it has made studies not a burden, but an experience -based. In this, the subjects will be explained to the children through projects, so that they will not only remember the subjects, but will learn it by doing it.

Logic and thinking will get direction

In ‘Deepakam’, Sanskrit language has been introduced in such a way that children can develop logic and analysis capacity. Along with examples of old religious or literary texts, modern subjects like Digital India, Health, Environment and Social Life have also been added to it. The purpose of this is that students should not only understand the rules of Sanskrit, but can also connect with the society.

Pictures and stories adorned with stories

The new book includes painting -based teaching, dialogues, poems and stories. All this is in colorful pages and attractive design, so that children do not find the book cumbersome. Also, hard grammar is also explained by easy language and practice.

Connection with values and culture

In the book, not just studies, but also the values related to life, such as honesty, cooperation, environment love, self -reliance etc. have also been explained through simple examples in Sanskrit. Children have also been given information about Devanagari script and Indian culture in a comfortable form.

This new book has been designed in such a way that teachers can teach it in class without any additional preparation. Also, parents can help children, because language is simple and subject related to life.
