These areas of Delhi also appeared drenched in lights

Famous places of the capital were illuminated with colorful lights and lamps. This Diwali, entire Delhi was decorated like a bride. Grand laser lights were installed at important places of the city – Red Fort, India Gate, Shri Gauri Shankar Temple, Gurudwara Shishganj Sahib, Connaught Palace.

On the occasion of Diwali, people visited these major places and enjoyed everything from drone shows to huge fireworks. With this, everything from markets, shops, houses appeared decorated.

A grand scene was also seen at India Gate on the festival of Diwali. On this grand occasion, a wonderful display of Ram Katha was done through a drone show. The entire atmosphere of the show appeared devotional.

In this drone show, the journey of Lord Shri Ram from his exile to the killing of Ravana and then his return to Ayodhya was presented through colorful lights. The audience seemed mesmerized by this unique scene. Thousands of people present captured this emotional scene in their cameras.

Delhi lit up with earthen lamps

Tourist places and temples of the national capital have been illuminated with lights. For the first time, Delhi was illuminated with 1.51 lakh lamps. On the occasion of Diwali, a grand program of Deepotsav was organized in Delhi.

This event was inaugurated by CM Rekha Gupta. CM started the program by lighting the lamp. During this, the duty path was illuminated by lighting earthen lamps. Similarly, India Gate, Shri Gauri Shankar Temple, Gurudwara Shishganj Sahib and Red Fort were illuminated with grand lights.

For the first time, on the occasion of Deepotsav, the duty path in the national capital was decorated with earthen lamps. The entire area appeared drenched in the light of lamps. A large number of people were seen present in this event. During this, the area echoed with slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. CM Rekha Gupta congratulated everyone on Diwali on this wonderful event.

A day before Diwali, Deepotsav was celebrated with great pomp in Ayodhya. Its 9th edition was organized on Sunday (19 October). Meanwhile, a record for lighting lamps has also been established. 26 lakh lamps have been illuminated from Ram Ki Paidi to the banks of Saryu. Entire areas have been illuminated with laser light shows.

A record has also been made for lighting the maximum number of lamps in this festival of lights. In which 26,17,215 lamps have been lit. On the other hand, 2128 Archakas have performed the Aarti of Maa Saryu together. During this time the team of Guinness Book of World Records was present there. CM Yogi has also been given a Guinness World Records certificate.

Two new records made in Deepotsav

Two new world records have been established during Ayodhya Deepotsav. In which Aarti was performed with more than 26 lakh lamps and 2128 Archakas. Which the team has recorded in the record. Let us tell you, in the year 2017, 1.71 lakh lamps were lit in the first edition of Deepotsav.

This time this number is almost 25 times more. On this special occasion, Ramlila with laser-light show has been staged at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of river Saryu. Deepotsav has been celebrated at ghats illuminated with lamps and colorful lights.

What did CM Yogi say on the event?

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said during Ram’s coronation at Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya Dham on Sunday – Ayodhya is the first among Saptapuris, where religion itself has incarnated in human form. Here there is dignity in every particle and kindness in every lamp, Lord Shri Ram resides in every heart. Thousands of years ago, when the world was living in darkness, Ayodhya had lit lamps to welcome the arrival of its God, its deity and its faith.

Whereas Deepotsav had become a great festival of Sanatan Dharma in the form of Diwali. To keep this great festival alive, for the first time in the year 2017, 1,71,000 lamps were lit in the Deepotsav. Today, on the ninth festival of lights, more than 26 lakh lamps are being lit in Ayodhya Dham alone.

He further said, if the calculation is done across the state, then 1 crore 51 lakh lamps are being lit in the festival of lights alone. CM Yogi looked giddy during Diwali. Raised both hands and expressed happiness of making the record.

Diwali puja is done only on Amavasya Tithi when it is Pradosh Kaal. On October 20, Pradash Kaal will last from 05:46 pm to 08:18 pm. You can worship in this Muhurta. Apart from this, Vrishabha period is also considered auspicious for worship, which will last from 07:08 pm to 09:03 pm.

Diwali Puja Vidhi (Diwali 2025 Puja Vidhi)

It is necessary to perform puja with full rituals on the day of Diwali on 20th October 2025. To avoid any mistake in puja, know the complete method here-

First of all, establish a post in the east or north-east corner of the house. Spread a red or pink colored cloth on the post and install the idol of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi on it.

Take special care that the idol of Goddess Lakshmi should be kept on the left side of Lord Ganesha. The worship of Goddess Lakshmi is considered incomplete without Lord Vishnu. Therefore, consider a betel nut as the form of Lord Vishnu and keep it next to Goddess Lakshmi.

Now start the puja by sitting in the asana. First of all sprinkle Ganga water. Then light the lamp. Apply turmeric-kumkum tilak to Ganesha and Mother Lakshmi and offer fruits, flowers, food, Akshat and all worship material. Offer lotus flowers to Goddess Lakshmi and Durva to Lord Ganesha.

Kalash is also established during Diwali puja. Therefore, keep an earthen pot filled with water on the right side of the idol. Put water, coin, betel nut, kumkum, flowers, Akshat inside the Kalash and put five mango leaves and put the lid on the Kalash. Now place a coconut on top of the Kalash. First tie mauli to the coconut and then apply kumkum.

After offering all the things in the puja, perform aarti of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. Also ring the conch and bell. During the puja, light at least five lamps in a plate and keep them in different parts of the house.

Also keep in mind that while worshiping Diwali, do not wear black, brown or blue colored clothes. On this day, you can wear red, yellow, green, pink or bright colored clothes.
