Sunday could not have been a better day for Indian cricket fans. Team India defeated Pakistan badly by 64 runs. Deepti Sharma was chosen as the player of the match, who single-handedly sent half the Pakistan team to the pavilion.

With this, Deepti has become the third Indian to take a 5-wicket haul in the T20 World Cup. Before them, Renuka Singh Thakur and Priyanka Roy have taken five wickets in a World Cup match. Well, after her match-winning performance against Pakistan, Deepti Sharma’s statement is winning the hearts of the fans.

After the 64-run win over Pakistan, Deepti Sharma said, “Full credit goes to the team and I am very happy. Hanuman ji is great.”

This is not the first time that Deepti Sharma’s unwavering faith in Hanuman ji has come to the fore. In fact, after the historic victory of the 2025 ODI World Cup, Team India had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi asked Deepti about the tattoo of Hanuman ji printed on her hand. The Indian all-rounder said that whenever she is going through any difficulty, she takes the name of ‘Hanuman’ which gives her the strength to fight.

Half of Pakistan’s team alone covered

Pakistan had got the target of 171 runs in the World Cup match. It was Deepti Sharma who gave the first blow to the Pakistan team. He took the wicket of Gul Firozha, after that it seemed as if the fall of wickets started. Deepti gave only 10 runs and took 5 wickets in her 4 over spell. With this, Deepti has also made the world record of taking most wickets in women’s T20 cricket.
