According to the order of the District Magistrate, all government, non-government, private schools and Anganwadi centers in the district have been kept closed today. This decision of the administration has been taken keeping in mind the health and safety of children.

Schools closed today in Dehradun

The effect of extreme heat is clearly visible in Dehradun today. People are facing a lot of problems due to strong sunlight, rising temperatures and hot winds. After the warning of the Meteorological Department, the district administration has issued an order to keep all the schools closed today as a precautionary measure. After this decision, thousands of students of the district have got relief today. Parents have also become less worried about the health of their children. The administration has made it clear that this decision has been taken to protect children from problems like heat stroke and dehydration.

All government and private schools will remain closed

According to the order issued, all government, non-government and private schools will remain closed from class 1 to 12 in Dehradun district today. Along with this, there will be a holiday in all the Anganwadi centers of the district today.

Instructions have been given to the Chief Education Officer and concerned departments to ensure compliance with the order. All school managements were asked to inform about this in advance.

Decision taken keeping in mind the health of children

The extreme heat affects small children the most. Due to strong sunlight and heat wave, problems like weakness, dizziness, dehydration and heat stroke can occur in children. Keeping this in mind, the administration has decided to keep the school closed today.

Doctors say that it is important to protect children from sunlight in this season. Providing adequate water and keeping it safe indoors is a better solution.

The district administration has appealed to the people to avoid leaving their homes in the afternoon. Take special care of children, elderly and sick people. Wear light clothes and drink plenty of water. Go out only when necessary and keep your head covered while going out in the sun. The administration is constantly monitoring the weather conditions.

If the temperature continues to rise like this in the coming days, then the administration may take a big decision regarding schools in the future. At present, the order to keep all schools closed for today is in force.
