A big change has been seen in the government hospitals of Delhi. Hospitals on which thousands of patients trust for treatment every day. Their command will now be in the hands of women doctors. This is the first time that the responsibility of three big central government hospitals of the capital has been handed over to three women doctors simultaneously. This is being considered a historic step in the health sector.

The Health Ministry of the Central Government has recently issued new appointment orders. Under this, Dr. Akhilandeshwari Prasad has been made the director of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences (ABVIMS) and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Whereas Dr. Himani Ahluwalia has been given the command of Lady Hardinge Medical College and Dr. Kavita Rani Sharma has been given the command of Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhaman Mahaveer Medical College (VMMC).

Such a record was made for the first time

According to media reports, Delhi government hospitals are counted among the largest and busiest hospitals in the country. Here, not only Delhi, but patients from different states of the country come for treatment. In such a situation, leading these institutions is not considered an easy task.

Now for the first time, the command of three big hospitals has come together in the hands of women doctors. This decision of the Health Ministry is being seen as a major achievement in the medical world. Many experts believe that this will give more women doctors an opportunity to advance into leadership roles in the future.

Dr. Akhilandeshwari Prasad brings almost three decades of experience

The journey of Dr. Akhilandeshwari Prasad, who took up the new responsibility, has been quite inspiring. She studied MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College and achieved gold medal. After this he obtained MD degree in Radio Diagnosis from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Dr. Prasad has been associated with RML Hospital and ABVIMS for more than 30 years. During this period, he performed many important responsibilities as a doctor, teacher and administrator. She has also been the head of the Radio Diagnosis Department.

He says that providing better facilities to the patients in the hospital will be his biggest priority. Besides, continuing essential services without interruption and further strengthening the hospital system are also included in his agenda.

Patients will get better facilities

After assuming the new responsibility, Dr. Prasad has said that he will work on many important schemes. Their aim is to provide better and faster services to the patients in the hospital. For this, preparations are being made to completely start the super specialty block, modernize the hospital infrastructure and promote the digital system. In the coming time, work will also be done to make hospital services more digital by reducing dependence on papers.

Dr. Himani Ahluwalia and Dr. Kavita Rani Sharma also have a big responsibility

While Dr. Himani Ahluwalia is a senior professor in the Department of Physiology, Dr. Kavita Rani Sharma is considered an experienced expert in the Department of Anesthesia. Earlier in March, Dr. Kavita Rani Sharma was also given the additional charge of Director of Safdarjung Hospital. Now with permanent appointment he has been handed over the entire responsibility of the hospital. Dr. Himani Ahluwalia will take charge as the new Director of Lady Hardinge Medical College from July 9.

The Delhi government has taken a big step towards giving new heights to the health system of the capital. New medical facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technology have been started in Govind Ballabh Pant (GB Pant) Hospital, which is going to be of great benefit not only to Delhi but also to the patients coming from other states.

In a program organized in the hospital premises, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh inaugurated 256 slice CT scan, wide cath lab and new ICU. Many experts related to hospital administration and medical world were also present on this occasion.

Now treatment like private will be available in government hospitals also

During the inauguration, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the aim of the Delhi government is to equip government hospitals with international level facilities. He clarified that it is the priority of the government to eliminate the gap between rich and poor in treatment, so that every citizen can get equal and better health services.

North India’s first 256 slice CT scan

The Chief Minister informed that the 256 slice CT scan installed in GB Pant Hospital is one of the few machines in its category and has been installed for the first time in a government hospital in North India. This machine will prove to be very effective in fast and accurate diagnosis of cancer, heart disease and other serious diseases. He said, with the opening of the new Neuro Cath Lab in the hospital, treatment related to neuroscience will get a new strength. This hospital, which has been a leader in medical services and education since 1964, has been provided with these modern facilities at a cost of approximately Rs 38 crore.

Modern upgrade done by removing old technology

At the same time, Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the Neuro IT system has been completely upgraded in GB Pant Hospital. Old machines have been removed and new technology has been installed, due to which common patients will directly benefit from better and faster treatment.

The Health Minister said that the government is expanding health services, taking forward the trust given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Delhi. In the coming time, MRI, CT scan and modern testing facilities will also be started in other hospitals of Delhi.

Delhi government believes that these new facilities started in GB Pant Hospital will give a strong foundation to the health system of the capital and will further deepen the trust of the people towards government hospitals.
