The Delhi government has launched a great scheme for children studying in government schools. Under this, students studying in government schools will be given free coaching to prepare for competitive examinations. The scheme has been named ‘Common Entrance Test (CET-2025)’ and its registration process has also started. Let us tell you how and how long you can register for this scheme?

What is this plan?

In this scheme of the Delhi government, those children are being given a chance, who want to prepare for big competitive exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and Cuet (UG). The Directorate of Education informed that a total of 2200 seats will be available under this scheme. The special thing is that some seats in every course have been reserved only for girls. 50-50 seats in JEE, NEET, CLAT and CA Foundation and 150 seats in CUET have been kept for girls.

How will Delhi government help?

Children will be given full help in this coaching. All things like course fees, studies goods, practice test paper etc. will be given free to children. At the same time, coaching will also be provided from renowned institutions of Delhi, so that children can prepare well.

Who can apply?

Students of class 11 and 12 can register for this scheme. If you are in class 11, you can apply for coaching of JEE, NEET, CLAT or CA Foundation. At the same time, students of all streams in class 12 can register for coaching of Cuet. It is worth noting that you can choose only one course. There will not be a chance to change the course after registration.

How will the selection be?

To enroll in coaching under this scheme, you have to first give an entrance exam, which will be in Delhi’s government schools between October 12 and October 26. Those who pass this exam will be called for counseling. In counseling, you will be able to choose the coaching of your choice. Please tell that before this exam you will get the admit card, which will be released two days before the exam. Also, information about examination center and roll number will be given five days before the examination.

The registration process is completely online. You have to go to the website of the Directorate of Education of Delhi Government and fill the registration form. It is very important to give your correct information in the form, because your registration can be canceled due to wrong information. You can register by 30 September.

Taking a big decision, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved extending the tenure of 410 Part Time Vocational Teachers (PTVTs) teaching in government and aided schools in the capital till March 2026. Also, the salary of these teachers has also been increased. The government has approved a budget of about Rs 36 crore for this.

Which teachers will benefit?

This decision will speed up skill -based education in Delhi schools. At the same time, students will continue to get the benefit of vocational education without any hindrance. The Education Department had sent a proposal to extend the tenure of these 410 teachers from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, which includes 402 qualified and 8 non-qualified teachers. This proposal has been approved by the Lieutenant Governor. Also, the contract of two teachers working in Hospitality and Tourism Stream has also been extended from 1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026. Apart from this, 9 and Vocational Teachers working in four aided senior secondary schools will also be continued till 2025-26.

When did parttime teachers be kept since?

Part Time Vocational Teachers in Delhi started in the late 1970s and early 2000. Since then these teachers have been contract or temporarily appointed. Its purpose is to teach school students in commercial subjects. Currently all these teachers are training students from class 9 to 12 under NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework) implemented by CBSE.

How many part -time teachers are doing work?

The Education Department said that currently 505 vocational teachers are working in Delhi government schools, out of which 410 are working on the basis of contracts. The remaining 95 teachers are appointed to temporary posts, whose contracts are increased or newly created every year.

What is the purpose of this step?

Please tell that new teachers have not been recruited in Delhi and many teachers are retiring. In such a situation, it has become necessary to maintain existing teachers, so that students do not have any problem in skill -based education. This step of the government is being considered a strong initiative towards vocational education.

The Delhi government has taken another concrete step to improve the education system of government schools. Such senior officials have been appointed in 56 government schools in the capital, who will play the role of mentors in schools. These schools have been identified because the pass percentage of students in class 9th and 11th has been less than 45%.

This decision taken by the Directorate of Education of Delhi is a serious effort to directly improve the educational performance of the students. These mentors will not only guide the school, but will also visit the school once every 15 days and upload their inspection report on the MIS portal.

What will be the role of mentors?

Each officer has been assigned one school, where they will regularly monitor till 2025-26 academic session. Their report will include information about how the attendance of students in the school, how is the quality of teaching, how the students are performing in what subject, and how much teaching-learning material is being used.

Mentors will also check whether teachers and students are getting the real advantage of schemes such as “Mission Mathematics” and “Enrichment Classes”. Many of these schools have seen a serious lack of understanding of basic mathematics, which is now a priority to remove.

Direct attack on mathematical weakness

The main objective of this scheme of the Delhi government is to develop confidence and understanding about mathematics in students of class 6 to 10. Under “Mission Mathematics”, weak students are taught separately so that they can understand the basic calculations well. Now mentors will also assess the effectiveness of these efforts.

For teachers, this initiative will be like a support system, where they will get immediate advice or cooperation if they have problems.

District and zonal officers will also be active

Mentors reports will be reviewed by the district and zonal education officers. If needed, they will provide additional resources or assistance to schools. If a school continuously performs poorly or does not show improvement, its accountability will be fixed.
