The Directorate of Education, Delhi Government has issued an important circular regarding summer holidays in government schools. There will be summer vacation in all government schools of the capital from 11 May 2026 to 30 June 2026. However, special remedial classes will be conducted for students of classes 9th, 10th and 12th from May 11 to May 23, 2026. The objective of these classes is to strengthen the weak subjects of the students and improve their learning outcomes.

Remedial classes will run in the morning shift

As per the instructions issued, remedial classes will be held in the morning. Teachers will have to be present in the school from 7:20 am to 11:00 am, while students’ classes will run from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. Each period will be of one hour and a total of three periods will be imposed.

Separate system for double shift schools

The Directorate of Education has clarified that remedial classes in double shift schools will be conducted in a separate wing so that regular arrangements are not affected. The school administration has been instructed to ensure arrangements as per the available resources and number of teachers.

Special emphasis will be on mathematics and science

For students of class 9th and 10th, special focus will be given on mathematics and science subjects. However, school heads will be able to run additional classes in other subjects depending on the need and result analysis. Whereas the subjects for class 12th will be selected according to the educational needs of the students.

Needy students will get additional support

In the circular, school heads have been instructed to pay special attention to weak and needy students. Teachers have been asked to personally pay attention to the studies of the students and ensure visible improvement in their performance.

Wearing uniform is mandatory, attendance will be done online

It will be mandatory for students to wear school uniform during remedial classes. Also, the attendance of the students will be recorded online. Schools will also have to ensure that parental consent i.e. NOC is obtained for students attending remedial classes.

Emphasis on library and basic facilities also

The Education Department has directed that the school library should remain open during remedial classes so that students can take advantage of self-study and book release. Apart from this, the responsibility of providing clean drinking water and other basic facilities has been entrusted to the school heads.

The Education Department has opened a new path for those students studying in government schools of Delhi who could not succeed in class 9th or 10th. They will be given the opportunity to continue their studies again through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), so that they can move forward without leaving their studies midway.

Only government school students will get benefits

According to the instructions of the Education Department, this facility will be available only to those students who have studied in government schools of Delhi. This includes students who have failed at least twice in class 9th or 10th or are in compartment status. However, students who have failed for the first time in the 2025-26 session will not come under the ambit of this scheme and will have to continue their studies in their existing school.

Responsibility on schools, instructions to connect students

The department has directed all government schools to identify eligible students, contact them and motivate them to join the scheme. Besides, it will also be the responsibility of the schools to arrange the necessary documents and complete the application process on time, so that no eligible student is deprived of this opportunity.

Online process and arrangement of study centers

The entire admission process will be conducted online, which will be completed by school heads through NIOS system. Classes will be conducted at study centers set up in about 75 selected government schools of Delhi, so that students can get regular guidance.

Exam fee and subject options determined

Under this scheme, the examination fee has been fixed at Rs 300 per subject, while for practical subjects, Rs 150 per subject will have to be paid. The fee for Transfer of Credit (TOC) has been kept at Rs 230 per subject. Students will have the option to choose from subjects like Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Social Science, Science, Painting and Home Science. Apart from this, Data Entry Operation subject can also be selected additionally.

Last date of application

The last date of application for this entire process has been fixed as 7th July. The aim of the department is to bring the students who are on the verge of dropping out back into the mainstream and provide them better opportunities for further education.

A big and new change took place in the education system of government schools of Delhi from Tuesday i.e. 17th February. In fact, on February 17, CM Shri School was inaugurated in Sarojini Nagar area of Delhi. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta were present on this occasion. This program was presided over by Education Minister Ashish Sood. With this, CM Shri Schools Project was formally started in a total of 75 government schools of Delhi. Let us know what facilities will be there in these schools?

What is special about these schools?

This project is a big initiative of the Delhi government, whose objective is to make government schools modern and smart. These schools are not just buildings, but they are places where a strong foundation will be laid for the coming generation. These schools will help in realizing the dream of Developed India 2047. Here, along with bookish knowledge, children will also be taught life skills, employment related training, discipline and social responsibility.

These facilities will be available in CM Shri schools

AI based smart classroom: Here learning will be easy and fun with interactive boards and technology.

Career Counseling Lab: Children will get right advice about future career.

ICT Lab: Computer and Internet related studies.

Digital Library: eBooks and online resources.

Multi-Sectoral Skill Lab: Training of different skills.

Language Lab: Facility to learn foreign languages in a better way.

Special Resource Room for Inclusive Education: Equal Opportunities for All Children.

CM Shree Digital Portal: For preparation of competitive exams like JEE, NEET, UPSC etc.

What will be the benefit to children?

With these facilities, children will get a complete environment of preparation for the future in the school itself. Now studies will not be limited to blackboard only. By adopting technology and digital education, government schools are being made like private schools. Poor and middle class children will now get the same facilities which earlier only rich children used to get.

Teachers said these things

ABP News team talked to teachers and children at CM Shri School in Sarojini Nagar. Teachers told that it is very good to teach in smart class. Earlier, studies which seemed like a burden for children, now seem like a game. The attendance of children has increased and they are enjoying studies. A teacher said that with the smart board it has become very easy to remember and explain things like poems.

Also read: BPSC has released the teacher recruitment exam calendar, know when and how long will the exams be held?
