Public, municipal corporation and private offices will work with 50 percent staff, while central government offices will shift to work from home as soon as AQI reaches 301–400.

Dr. Mahesh Palawat, senior meteorologist of Skymet Weather, said that a new western disturbance has become active in the mountains, due to which rain and light snowfall has started there. There is a possibility of another western disturbance on December 18, due to which medium height clouds can be seen in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and north-western Uttar Pradesh.

However, there is no possibility of rain in these areas at present. There may be a slight increase in the minimum temperature due to cloudy weather. There is a possibility that the temperature will start falling gradually after December 15, whereas after December 22, the effect of severe cold can be clearly seen in many parts of the country.
