The weather in the capital Delhi has cleared due to storm, hailstorm and strong winds. At present, no major change will be seen in the weather patterns. It is expected that the sun will continue to hide amidst light clouds in the sky for the next one week.

There will be an increase in temperature in Delhi on Friday. There is a possibility of winds blowing at very high speed. Bright sunlight and humidity can bother people. Now heat can create trouble for the people of Delhi. After the change in weather, the temperature will also continue to rise throughout the week.

How will be the weather in Delhi today?

The weather will remain dry in Delhi on Friday (April 10). Also, there is no possibility of rain at all. Sunshine will be seen in Delhi since morning. The winds will blow at a speed of 11 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature in Delhi today will reach 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 18 degrees.

Improvement seen in Delhi’s air

Let us tell you that after continuous rains, the air of Delhi has improved a lot. Also, the people of Delhi felt the cold in the month of April due to rain, storm and hailstorm. But now this mixture of sunshine and clouds during the day will definitely give some relief to people from the heat.

There will also be a feeling of slight coolness in the morning and evening. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the drop in maximum and minimum temperatures in the last few days, people are feeling the weather like the early days of March.

What do the experts say?

This drop in temperature has brought temporary relief, due to which the onset of scorching heat seems to be postponed for now. Experts say that this change is happening due to western disturbance and light winds, due to which the temperature remains slightly below normal.

These days the weather patterns are constantly changing in Delhi. Sometimes there is strong sunshine, sometimes there are clouds and rain, the reason for this fluctuation is being considered to be Western Disturbance. According to the Meteorological Department, the coming days will also be full of similar changes. Talking about the last 24 hours, the weather in the capital and surrounding areas was quite pleasant. It remained cloudy throughout the day and there was light rain, due to which the temperature dropped and people got relief from the heat.

The weather is expected to be clear today (April 1). There may be strong sunshine during the day, although light clouds will also be visible at times. There is no possibility of rain or storm today.

Temperature will increase today and tomorrow

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature will increase on 1 and 2 April. The maximum temperature can reach around 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 20-21 degrees. That means people will start feeling slight heat. But on 3rd and 4th April the weather will change once again.

There is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain with strong winds in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad. Due to this the temperature will drop and the maximum temperature can reach around 30 degrees.

Also read- Delhi: No relief to the accused of black marketing of LPG cylinders, know what the court said?

It may rain in many parts of the country till April 10

Meteorologists say that the effect of Western Disturbance will still persist, especially in the hilly areas. Due to this, there may be intermittent rain in many parts of the country till April 10. At the same time, if we talk about pollution, the air quality in Delhi remains in the moderate category. AQI 171 has been recorded. March 2026 was the most polluted in the last four years, with an average AQI of 181.

Life became disrupted in the country’s capital Delhi on Wednesday (18 March) evening due to dust storm and rain with thunder. After this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for the city. IMD has sent an alert to all State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs). There is a possibility of bad weather in Central, Eastern, New Delhi, Northern, Northeastern, Northwestern, Shahdara, Southern, Southeastern, Southwestern and Western districts. At least 16 flights were diverted at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

What did the weather department say?

According to the India Meteorological Department, ‘Orange Alert’ means ‘be prepared’. This means that the general public should be prepared for inclement weather, which may disrupt normal life. The Meteorological Department said in a statement, “During the next three hours, light to moderate rain, thundershowers and winds at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour are expected at many places in some parts of Delhi, the speed of which can go up to 60 kilometers per hour.”

Delhi News: Demand for audio traffic signal raised, visually impaired and elderly people will get support

Wind blowing at a speed of 65 km per hour

Around 7 pm in Palam, winds blew at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour, the speed of which later reached 50 kilometers per hour. The highest wind speed in the capital was recorded at Pragati Maidan of 68 kilometers per hour. Whereas in Pusa the wind speed reached 65 kilometers per hour.

There was power failure in many areas

Strong winds also blew in other parts of the city. Wind speed was 50 km per hour at Palam, 46 km per hour at Lodhi Road, 44 km per hour at Ignou, 41 km per hour at Naraina and 33 km per hour at Pitampura, indicating the widespread impact of the storm in the Delhi region. Due to strong winds, there was power failure in many areas of the capital and work was disrupted.

Palam fire incident: Government will give compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased, financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the injured.

IMD issued advisory to people

The IMD issued several advisories urging people to stay indoors and away from weak or unsafe structures. People were warned to stay away from windows, electric poles and power lines. Farmers have been asked to temporarily stop work and take their animals to safer places. Drivers stranded in the storm have been asked to stop at a safe place and stay inside their vehicles instead of driving in the strong winds.

As soon as the weather changed in the capital Delhi, a significant improvement in the health of the air has been recorded. Light rains and favorable weather conditions have brought down the pollution levels, which has brought great relief to the people. Due to this, the administration has removed the first phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which has happened for the first time this year.

After the rain on Sunday (15 March), Delhi’s air quality has seen continuous improvement. On Monday (March 16), the air quality index was recorded at 119, which falls in the ‘normal’ category, while it had reached 97 in the morning. For the last one week, the pollution level was gradually decreasing, due to which the air condition seemed to be moving from bad to better category.

Clear air due to weather

According to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), AQI 119 was recorded at 4 pm on March 16. Officials say that favorable weather, such as light rain and strong winds, has played an important role in reducing pollution. Also, after reviewing the forecasts of IMD and IITM, the current situation was considered satisfactory.

In view of the improvement in air quality, the restrictions imposed under GRAP Stage-1 implemented in Delhi-NCR have been removed with immediate effect. However, officials have clarified that this relief may be temporary, therefore, state governments and concerned agencies have been instructed to strictly follow all the guidelines so that pollution does not increase again.

Weather became pleasant due to light rain and wind

One day’s light rain has made the weather pleasant in the capital. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain between March 18 and 20. Yellow alert has been issued for March 20, warning of rain with strong winds. Due to this the temperature may drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.

feeling of slight warmth during the day

On Monday (16 March), cold winds kept the weather pleasant in the morning and evening, while the sun felt a little strong during the day. The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 17.4 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky on March 17 also.

March has just started and the heat of May-June is beginning to be felt in the capital. Last day, i.e. March 6, was recorded as the hottest day of this season so far. The maximum temperature in the capital reached 34.4 degrees Celsius, which is about 7 degrees more than normal. The increasing heat in the beginning of March itself has surprised people and the effect of strong sunlight is clearly being felt in the afternoon.

The night temperature also increased along with the day.

In Delhi, not only the day temperature but also the night temperature has been recorded higher than normal. Due to this, warmth is being felt instead of slight coolness even in the morning and evening. The minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung weather station was 17 degrees Celsius, which is 3.6 degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature in Lodhi Road area was 16.3 degrees Celsius, which is 4.3 degrees above normal.

Usually, in the beginning of March, there is a slight coolness in the morning and night, but this time due to the high temperature, the morning and evening are also feeling hot. At present, the air of the capital remains in the moderate category and the air quality index has been recorded at 171.

Indications that the weather will remain like this for the next 10 days

According to weather experts, the weather trend in Delhi and surrounding areas may remain almost the same in the coming days. Due to clear sky and strong sunlight, the temperature is expected to increase gradually.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of any major weather activity in Delhi and surrounding states like Punjab for the next 10 days. During this period, along with day temperature, an increase in morning and evening temperatures can also be seen. Besides, there are indications of increase in wind speed in the coming days, due to which the weather may remain dry.

February was considered a winter month and pleasant weather was expected in March. However, now these hopes seem to be dashing. The temperature of Delhi has proved that now the days of scorching heat have arrived in March itself. This March has been the hottest March recorded in recent years.

The beginning of March has been the hottest in recent years. The minimum average temperature in Delhi has been recorded at 16 degrees Celsius, the highest since 2023. All this has been seen in the first five days of the month itself, after which people are worried about how the entire month ahead will go?

Due to unusually hot nights and high day temperatures, the mercury rose much above normal. Earlier in the year 2023, the average minimum temperature was recorded at 16.2 degrees Celsius.

Today is the hottest day of March

Thursday, March 5, was the hottest day of the season so far, when the maximum temperature reached 34.3 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, today’s temperature was 6.9 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 18.2 degrees Celsius, which was 4.8 degrees more than the average.

Now the heat will increase gradually!

According to the report of news agency PTI, Skymet’s Mahesh Palawat said that there is no possibility of any significant weather activity in neighboring states like Delhi and Punjab for at least the next 10 days. There are indications of clear sky and bright sunshine in the coming days, due to which the temperature may gradually increase both in the morning and evening. Wind speed is also likely to increase in the coming days.

What was the temperature of Delhi today?

IMD has informed that the maximum temperature recorded at Delhi’s base station Safdarjung was 34.3 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 18.2 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the maximum temperature recorded in Palam was 32.5 degrees Celsius which was 5.5 degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature was also 16.1 degrees i.e. 3.5 degrees more than normal.

The maximum temperature recorded at Lodhi Road was 34.4 degrees Celsius, which is 7.4 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 17.0 degrees Celsius, which is 5.0 degrees above normal.

Winter has once again returned in Delhi-NCR. Due to the melting of snow on the mountains and the effect of western disturbance, cold winds have started blowing in the plains of North India. According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave may persist with dense fog in Delhi on Wednesday (4 February 2026). Cold will be felt more in the morning and late night.

The Meteorological Department has said that the effect of cold wave will be seen in entire North India including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Bihar. There is a possibility of low visibility due to fog in many areas, due to which road and rail traffic may be affected.

Chances of rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir

A slight increase in day and night temperatures was recorded in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 2.8 degrees Celsius, while the mercury dropped to minus 5.3 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg ski resort. According to the Meteorological Department, a weak western disturbance is active at this time, due to which many areas may remain cloudy. There is a possibility of snowfall along with rain in high altitude areas.

Rain alert in Haryana and Punjab

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of light to moderate rain with cloudy sky and strong winds in most parts of Haryana and Punjab. There has been rain and hailstorm in many districts of Punjab during the last 36 hours, due to which the cold has increased further. There is a possibility of rain in Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and Mohali in the next few hours. The minimum temperature here can be 5 to 6 degrees and the maximum can be around 22 degrees Celsius.

Fog wreaks havoc in UP and Bihar

Rain and hailstorm alert has been issued in about 25 districts of Uttar Pradesh including Agra and Moradabad divisions. There may be light drizzle along with thunder and lightning in Central UP. At the same time, the effect of winter continues in Bihar and there is dense fog in many districts. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert in view of cold and fog.
