According to the Health Department, 1,101 new patients have been admitted to hospitals in just 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 73,923.

The number of patients is increasing rapidly in both the City Corporation areas of Dhaka. According to the new data of DGHS, 241 patients have been reported in Dhaka North, 175 in South and hundreds in other divisions like Barishal, Chattogram, Khulna and Rajshahi. The infection has started spreading in rural areas as well, which is increasing the pressure on the health system.

Dengue record of last years is scary

Data of the last three years shows that the risk of dengue is continuously increasing in Bangladesh. In 2023, this disease took the lives of 1,705 people, which was the highest figure till date. The number of deaths decreased to 575 in 2024, but a rise is seen again in 2025. It is just the beginning of November and the death toll has already reached 292.

Health experts have warned that the rapidly increasing dengue cases in Bangladesh may impact the eastern areas of India.
