On Wednesday evening, both the ghats of Ganga were filled with the twinkling lights of millions of lamps. Preparations have been made by the state government to celebrate Dev Diwali in a more grand and divine manner this year.

The lighting of lakhs of lamps and laser show on these ghats mesmerized the devotees. The banks of Ganga were seen bathed in the light of lamps.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reached Kashi, he worshiped Baba Vishwanath with rituals and wished happiness, prosperity and well-being for the people of the state.

Seeing the lamps burning far and wide on the banks of Ganga in Varanasi, it seemed as if it was no less than heaven. The divinity of this festival mesmerized everyone.

On the occasion of Dev Diwali, special worship was done at Kashi Vishwanath Temple. During this time Baba’s court was decorated with thousands of colorful lights and lamps.

There is a belief in Varanasi that on this day the gods themselves descend from heaven to earth and celebrate Diwali. It is called Dev Diwali because the gods celebrate Diwali.
