His mind was also focused on this, but very few people know that there was a tough struggle behind this shining life. At the beginning of his career, Dharmesh left college and worked as a peon. Before gaining name and fame, he had once earned a living for his family by scraping together every penny.

The story started from a simple family

Dharmesh was born on 31 October 1983 in Vadodara city of Gujarat. He is from a very simple family. His father ran a small tea shop and it was very difficult to run the house. Dharmesh was fond of dancing since childhood. He used to imitate Govinda and other Bollywood dancers after watching them on TV. Since the house was small, he would often go to the streets to dance and practice. When he proved his talent by winning a dance competition in the sixth grade, his father enrolled him in a dance class.

But due to financial constraints Dharmesh had to leave his studies. He was 19 years old when he left college and started working as a peon. Along with this, he also started teaching dance to children. At that time his monthly earnings were around Rs 1,600. Through small hard work and savings, he started fulfilling his dreams. He himself said that dance was like breathing for him and that is why he never gave up.

Dharmesh came to Mumbai and gave a new shape to his dreams. First he started working in films as a backup dancer. Gradually his name came up. Dance shows like ‘Boogie Woogie’ turned his career around. After winning this show, he got prize money of Rs 5 lakh, with which he paid off some of the debt of his family. After this he participated in many dance reality shows and also tried his hand in choreography.

Got recognition from ‘Dance India Dance’

The biggest turning point came when he got a chance in ‘Dance India Dance’. This show brought him popularity overnight. Dharmesh along with his team participate Prepared and himself appeared as a judge in many seasons. After this, he got a chance to work as both a choreographer and actor in Remo D’Souza’s films ‘ABCD’ and ‘ABCD 2’. Apart from this, he also appeared in films like ‘Street Dancer’.

Dharmesh received many awards and respects in his career. He was successful in making his mark not only as a dancer but also as a choreographer and judge.
