More than 10 crore people in India are suffering from diabetes, out of which about 10 lakh people are suffering from type 1 diabetes, who require insulin the most. Along with people suffering from type 1 diabetes, insulin is also required in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is the fastest spreading disease in India, which is a matter of great concern for the country. People suffering from type 1 diabetes are in dire need of insulin. Insulin is used to control the blood sugar level of diabetic patients. We all know that insulin is injected into the body of patients with the help of injections, which controls or balances the sugar level of diabetic patients. Making changes in the same injecting process, the famous pharmaceutical company named Cipla has announced the launch of inhaled insulin in the market, through which insulin can now be delivered to the patient’s body through inhalation.

Cipla will launch inhaled insulin in India

A famous pharmaceutical company named Cipla has taken an important step for the diabetes patients in India, making a major change in the process of insulin being given for the treatment of diabetes, which was given through injection in the patient’s body. It has announced the launch of rapid acting inhaled insulin powder named ‘Afrezza’ in the Indian market, which will provide relief to those patients who avoid or are afraid of injections or needles. Now people suffering from diabetes can simply inhale the insulin powder and deliver it to their body through breath.

Company got approval

Giving information, the company has said that they have got the approval of Rapid Acting Inhaled Insulin Powder from the government pharmaceutical body Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) last year, so that they can launch this new type of insulin in the Indian market as soon as possible and can also promote it. According to the company, this insulin shows rapid effect on diabetic patients.

How is inhaled insulin used?

Rapid acting inhaled insulin powder called Afrezza can be used through a small inhaler from a special single-use cartridge, which can be inhaled directly into the body by putting your dose in the inhaler according to the quantity of insulin prescribed by the doctor. According to the Global Chief Director of Cipla, through this new insulin people will not have to go through the painful process of daily injections.

Diabetes has become a very common disease in India today. Crores of people in India check their blood sugar level daily so that they can manage their health. But the method that was used till now. That is taking a blood sample by pricking a needle in the finger. It was quite painful and troublesome. Many times tests have to be done 3 to 4 times a day, which not only causes pain but also increases the expenses. Now, to provide relief from all these problems, scientists of IIT Madras have developed a new technology which will make the life of diabetes patients easier. Now patients will be able to test sugar at low cost without using needles. Diabetes patients will get relief from the new device of IIT Madras.

Cheap, easy and low cost sugar test without needle insertion

Researchers at the Electronic Materials and Thin Films Lab of IIT Madras have developed a special glucose monitoring device. This device has been made under the leadership of Professor Parasuraman Swaminathan. This device has been specially designed for diabetic patients so that they can check their blood sugar level without needle, easily and at low cost.

How does this new device work?

Till now two types of methods were generally used. In which the first is SMBG (Self-Monitoring of Blood Glucose), in this the blood sample is taken by pricking the finger with a needle. On the other hand, CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring), which gives real-time readings without repeatedly inserting needles, but these are quite expensive and show data only from mobile or separate devices.

Keeping in mind the shortcomings of both, the team of IIT Madras has come up with a new solution. They have created a modular system which has two parts. A reusable electronic unit with a low-power display and a disposable microneedle sensor patch that is applied to the skin. This microneedle patch is very small and measures the sugar level just above the skin. There is neither pain in using it nor is there any need to draw blood.

What is the purpose of this research?

With this new technology, diabetic patients will get rid of the trouble of repeatedly pricking the needle and they will be able to keep an eye on their sugar level more comfortably. MS (Entrepreneurship) scholar L. associated with this project. Balamurugan said that this device can prove to be a game-changer. It not only makes glucose monitoring easy but is also confidential and economical. Now people will be able to test their sugar regularly at home, which will help them understand their health and take timely action. Its benefit in the long run will be that diabetes related emergencies and the need to go to hospital will be reduced. This will reduce the financial burden on the family and patients will be able to manage their health in a better way.

In most homes in India, food is not just a means to fill the stomach, but it is a symbol of tradition and love. However, amidst the rapidly increasing cases of diabetes in the country, the question is now being raised whether the plate of bread and vegetables itself is causing the increase in sugar? At the same time, many people go to the doctor and proudly say that now they eat healthy things like oats or porridge instead of rice, but is it enough to do just this? Let us know today how daily eating habits affect our gut health and whether sugar can increase only by eating bread and vegetables.

How does sugar increase with daily food?

Our Indian food looks very simple, but the amount of carbohydrates in it is very high. Its quantity is especially high in white rice, refined flour rotis, fried vegetables and sweet tea. All these simple looking foods lack fiber and protein, due to which blood sugar can increase rapidly. Especially in cities where people’s lifestyle is mostly sitting and working, this problem becomes more serious. Along with this, increase in obesity and stress has a negative impact on both the body’s metabolism and gut health.

Are bread and vegetables also harmful?

Sugar can also increase due to bread and vegetables eaten at home. However, roti-sabzi is not bad in itself, but the difference depends on how you are eating it. If your food plate is balanced i.e. two rotis along with a bowl of dal, enough vegetables and some curd or cheese, then it can be a very healthy combination. At the same time, using millet, jowar or multigrain flour instead of refined wheat also keeps sugar under control.

Role of gut in diabetes

According to doctors, our stomach, which is also called the second brain, plays a big role in sugar control. The bacteria present in it help in breaking down carbs, reducing inflammation and improving metabolism. When we are under stress or eat too much processed food, this balance gets disturbed. Due to which it has a direct effect on blood sugar, digestion and weight.

What things should diabetic patients keep in mind?

To control sugar, diabetic patients can start the morning with lukewarm water and soaked dry fruits. Apart from this, diabetic patients should walk for 10 to 15 minutes after eating food to keep sugar under control. At the same time, one should avoid sweet tea, sweets and things related to sugar. Apart from this, diabetic patients should also try to reduce stress, because stress can have a direct impact on blood sugar.

Pakistani cricketer bot legs amputated: The cricketer has suffered many injuries in his cricket career, sometimes it is modest and sometimes it is very serious. Many players have taken retirement due to injury, this is a very bad phase for them. A similar news has also come from Pakistan cricket. In Pakistan, a Hindu cricketer has to lose both his legs. This cricketer named Mohinder Kumar has played the first class and ‘List A’ for Pakistan.

Former cricketer and coach Mohinder Kumar, who played domestic cricket for Pakistan, has both legs cut. The reason behind this is also very painful. Actually, the former cricketer had diabetes, he had an infection in his leg. It had increased so much that his life was threatened and doctors had no other option but to cut their feet. Had to cut both his legs. It has shocked everyone.

Mohinder Kumar is a Pakistani Hindu cricketer who left his mark in first class cricket. However, he could not play for Pakistan’s national team. After saying goodbye to his cricket career, he started training the youth by becoming a coach. He taught many young cricketers the tricks of cricket, but meanwhile he got diabetes.

Mohinder Kumar’s career

As a cricketer Mohinder Kumar played domestic cricket for Pakistan from 1976 to 1994. He played 65 first class matches and 53 matches of List A. He was a fast bowler, he took 187 wickets in first class cricket. In this, he took 5 or more wickets 10 times. 4 times he also took 10 wickets. It was fantastic, although it was very difficult for him to make a place in the Pakistan team and one of the reasons behind this was his being a Hindu. He has 64 wickets in List A matches.

65 -year -old Mohinder trained many big players. These include cricketers like Mohammad Sami, Danish Kaneria, Tanveer Ahmed, Sohail Khan.
