Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on June 13: The prices of petrol and diesel are fluctuating amid the ongoing conflict in Iran and increasing tension around the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, according to a government order, the government has banned industrial, commercial and institutional users from purchasing petrol and diesel from petrol pumps and has asked them to purchase the fuel required from bulk sales points.

According to the report of news agency PTI, these restrictions will remain in force for 90 days. The move came after bulk customers started buying fuel from petrol pumps due to price differentials, leading to an unusual increase in demand for fuel, especially diesel, in some areas. The price of diesel at petrol pumps in Delhi is Rs 95.20 per liter, while its price in wholesale sale is Rs 134.50.

fuel is becoming expensive

Due to rising prices of crude oil globally, government retailers have started passing on the burden of increased costs to customers to recover some part of their huge losses. Under this, on May 25, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) increased the prices of both petrol and diesel by more than Rs 2.50 per liter, taking a total increase of Rs 7.50 per liter since May 15. The prices of petrol and diesel in India are at their highest level in the last 4 years. Over the past two years, fuel prices have remained mostly stable except for a cut of Rs 2 per liter in March 2024.

Petrol will be cheaper in Mumbai tomorrow

According to PTI report, on the occasion of Raj Thackeray’s 58th birthday on June 14, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will provide petrol at concessional rates to two-wheeler drivers. The party has tied up with 36 petrol pumps across the city to provide petrol at concessional rates from 9 am on Sunday. However, this facility being provided by MNS will be applicable only in Mumbai.

Inflation Report Update: Rising inflation has made life difficult for people. Inflation is increasing day by day, due to which it is becoming difficult for common people to survive. A big change has been seen in the report of May 2026 regarding inflation in India. During this period, prices of many essential commodities have increased and some have declined.

According to the report, gold and silver jewelery and tomatoes have become the most expensive. This had a direct impact on people’s pockets. At the same time, the prices of vegetables like potatoes and peas have decreased. Retail inflation in India has increased to around 3.93 percent in 2026, which was 3.21 percent in February. This increase is especially due to the sharp rise in the prices of some selected items.

Big decision of the government, these customers will not be able to buy oil from petrol pumps, ban imposed for next 90 days

Inflation increased the most in these things

According to the report, the highest inflation in the month of May has been recorded in these things like…

Silver jewelery – huge increase of about 155.23 percent

Tomato- costlier by 48.43 percent

Gold-Diamond-Platinum Jewelery – Increase by 40.93 percent

Ginger costlier by 32.49 percent

Raisins – price increase by 21.97 percent

Decreased prices of these things

At the same time, a decline in the prices of some essential food items has also been seen. These include…

Potato- 23. Up to 71 percent cheaper

Peas – decline by 11.47 percent

What does this mean?

This data shows that inflation is not the same for everything. Some precious metals and some vegetables are becoming increasingly expensive. But it has also been seen that some things have also become cheaper. This fluctuation has different effects on the pockets of common users.

Not a billionaire but now call Musk a trillionaire, for the first time in history someone touched the 13 digit wealth figure.

Petrol-Diesel Price Today on June 10: Fuel prices remained stable in the country on Wednesday, June 10. Earlier on Monday, May 25, oil marketing companies (OMCs) had increased the prices of both petrol and diesel by more than Rs 2.50 per liter. It is noteworthy that due to the overall increase in prices since May 15, the cost of fuel has increased by approximately Rs 7.5 per liter.

Now the price will increase after May 2022

Fuel prices in India are at their highest ever level since May 2022. Before this, prices had remained almost stable for more than two years, except for a cut of Rs 2 per liter in March 2024. This is because the latest increase was the fourth in less than two weeks. This increase was made due to the delay in passing on the price changes to customers after the huge surge in global crude oil prices due to the war in West Asia.

The war in Western Asia disrupted global energy supplies, including that of India. Due to this conflict that has been going on for the last three months, 40% of India’s crude oil imports, 65% of natural gas and 90% of LPG supplies – which came from Gulf region countries – were disrupted.

Congress opened front against the government

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Congress workers demonstrated on the streets in Kalaburagi against the increase in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG and demanding immediate withdrawal of these from the BJP led central government. Organized by the District Congress Committee, the demonstration started from the party office on Sedam Road and went till Annapurna Cross. The protesters raised slogans against the central government and stopped the movement of vehicles at the busy intersection as part of the agitation.

Addressing the gathering, Gescom Chairman Praveen Patil Harwal alleged that the continuous increase in fuel prices is increasing the burden on poor families and appealed to the Central Government to reduce the prices of LPG, petrol and diesel without any delay. District Mahila Congress President Renuka Singe and District Youth Congress President Shakeel Ahmed Sardagi also took part in this protest.

Cheap Diesel: After giving cheap petrol, now the Indian government is preparing to give cheap diesel to the public. Indian Government Minister Nitim Gadkari himself has said this. Nitin Gadkari recently said during an address that now cheap diesel will also be made in India on the lines of cheap petrol. Just as ethanol is being used in making petrol, similarly Isobutinol will be used in making diesel.

What is Isobutinol?
First of all let us know what is isobutinol. Isobutanol is a type of alcohol and industrial chemical, which is mainly used in the manufacturing of fuel, paint, coating, solvent and other chemicals. It is also seen as an alternative to traditional fuels, because it is considered useful as biofuel in the energy sector.

Also read: Leave from work forever! Know what is that ‘Freedom Number’ which will make you retire young

Benefits of diesel with isobutanol
Just as E-85 fuel has many benefits, diesel with isobutanol also has many benefits. Learn here:

This can help in reducing the total cost of diesel.

Isobutanol mixed diesel will reduce the dependence on import of crude oil.

With the help of this diesel, carbon emissions and pollution will be reduced.

Farmers can get extra income by producing from agricultural residues and biomass.

The efficiency and combustion process of the vehicle engine can be improved.

Compared to traditional diesel, it is considered a more environment-friendly fuel.

Can help in increasing energy security and promoting alternative fuels.

Let us tell you that the government plans to mix 15 percent isobutanol in diesel, so that the price of diesel can be reduced. This will have little impact on the public’s pockets. Although the government has launched ethanol fuel, at present people have less knowledge about it, so they are avoiding filling their vehicles with this fuel. In such a situation, the government taking such risk for diesel is creating a situation of confusion.

Petrol Pump Scam Alert: Recently, there has been an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Its direct impact is on the pockets of common people. In such a situation, if you get cheated at a petrol pump, what will you do? Whenever you go to fill petrol or diesel in your car, you will always see zero in the meter first. Often you must have seen that even the employees present at the petrol pump say, Sir, please see Zero. This increases people’s confidence, but do you know that some vicious employees cheat customers even after showing zero.

start-stop game

This method often involves two employees. One employee distracts the customer while the other repeatedly presses and releases the nozzle lever. Due to this, the amount in the meter keeps increasing, but the flow of petrol does not happen properly. The result is that the customer gets less fuel than he paid for.

LPG rules changed for Ujjwala beneficiaries, what will have to be done now for the 5th gas cylinder?

Trick to interrupt reading

Suppose you asked to fill petrol worth Rs 1000. After that the employee starts the meter from zero, but as soon as it reaches Rs 200, he stops filling petrol and says that a mistake was made. After this, without re-zeroing the meter, he starts it from there and stops it at Rs 800. In such a situation, the customer feels that petrol worth Rs 1,000 has been filled, whereas in reality he gets less fuel.

Trick to stop fuel in pipe

You must be aware that petrol pump machines have a one-way check valve. Due to this, the fuel released from the machine cannot go back into the tank. In some cases, workers jerk the nozzle up, causing a small amount of fuel to get trapped in the pipe or nozzle. Many times this fuel is not completely poured into the tank of the vehicle and the customer has to bear the loss.

Not only this, the pipe of the gas cylinder is orange in color, it protects the entire kitchen.

What to do if you suspect fraud?

If you suspect that you are getting less petrol or diesel, you can ask the pump manager to check the quantity of fuel using a certified 5 liter jar. Along with this, complaint can be lodged on the users helpline number 1917 or the toll-free number of the concerned petroleum company. A complaint book is also available at every petrol pump, in which a written complaint can be lodged and action can be demanded.

Just seeing zero on the meter while filling petrol is not enough. It is important to keep an eye on the entire process and raise questions immediately if any discrepancy is noticed. A little caution can save you from financial loss.

Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: Amidst the war in Iran and ongoing tension in West Asia, the prices of petrol and diesel in India have been increased a total of 4 times in the last month. After this increase, petrol and diesel have become costlier by Rs 7.5 per liter overall. After a long gap of last four years, this increase in prices was done due to tension in the Middle East.

However, despite this increase in prices, government oil companies are still incurring a loss of about Rs 5.5 per liter on petrol and about Rs 4.5 per liter on diesel. Including these, companies are still incurring a total loss of more than Rs 550-600 crore every day, which is not good in the long run.

Will there be another increase of Rs 5?

ICRA and financial analysts believe that if oil companies have to reach ‘no profit, no loss’ situation, then another increase of Rs 5 per liter in retail prices may be required. Analysts are calling this increase necessary, but the government is avoiding allowing the full increase to oil companies immediately to keep inflation under control at the retail level. As an alternative, the government has also tried to handle this burden itself by making some cuts in excise duty.

crude oil prices

India imports about 85% of its crude oil requirement from abroad. Currently Brent crude is around $92-95 per barrel. This price level is fine for Indian oil companies. In such a situation, they do not feel any immediate need to increase the retail prices. Pressure on oil companies to increase prices comes when crude oil crosses $100 per barrel and remains at that level for several weeks. There is no such serious situation right now.

Petrol-Diesel Price: The ongoing tension in the Middle East is affecting many countries including India. There is a continuous increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in India. Rating agency Crisil has said in one of its reports that the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel can create new inflationary pressure on the Indian economy. In the coming months, the impact of increased costs of transport and manufacturing may be directly visible on user prices.

When did the prices of petrol and diesel increase?

May 15 – For the first time, petrol and diesel increased by Rs 3 per liter.

May 19- For the second time there was an increase of about 90 paise.

May 23- Petrol became costlier by 87 paise and diesel by 91 paise.

May 25- Petrol became costlier by Rs 2.61 and diesel by Rs 2.71.

In this way, overall petrol and diesel have become costlier by about Rs 7.5 per liter in four times. CRISIL says that if global crude oil prices remain high then there is a possibility of further increase.

Bumper listing of SpaceX’s mega IPO, now Musk will become the world’s first trillionaire

The impact may increase up to Rs 10

According to the report, oil companies are gradually reducing their losses. In such a situation, the total increase can reach Rs 10 per liter. Crisil said that its effect will be visible in the entire economy in the form of increase in transport costs, which may lead to increase in both food items and core inflation.

The direct impact of increased fuel prices on Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation is estimated to be around 36 basis points. If the total increase reaches Rs 10 per liter then this impact can increase to about 48 basis points.

Most affected on transport sector

Let us tell you that in India, about 71 percent of goods are transported through road transport. Fuel cost in this sector is about 42 percent. In such a situation, if fuel becomes expensive, the cost of freight and logistics will increase rapidly and the supply chain will be affected. The increase in transport costs will have the biggest impact on those items that are dependent on logistics such as dairy products, tea, coffee, fruits, pulses, spices, eggs, meat and fish.

Gold prices rise towards record high, important things to know before investing or buying

Pressure on core inflation also

According to CRISIL, pressure on core inflation may also increase as companies will have to face rising costs of crude oil, gas and transport. Along with this, there is a possibility of increase in prices in sectors like clothes, electronics, wood, cement and ceramics.

In case of stable demand, companies can either increase prices or adopt a strategy like shrinkflation, in which prices are kept stable by reducing the size of the product. In the first two months, the average price of crude oil was around $ 112 per barrel, which is much higher than the estimated $ 95. Due to this, there is pressure on inflation.

Petrol-Diesel Price Today: The country’s government oil companies have released new prices of petrol and diesel for June 1, 2026. Despite the fluctuations in the prices of crude oil in the international market, people are keeping an eye on the prices of petrol and diesel in the country. In recent times, there has been a rise in the prices of crude oil. The reason for this is the increasing tension in West Asia and concerns regarding supply. However, oil companies in India update the prices of petrol and diesel every day at 6 am. From here you can see the price of petrol and diesel for today i.e. 1st June.

Why has people’s concern increased?

Crude oil prices have been rising globally for the last few weeks. The increasing tension between Iran and America and the situation in the Middle East are affecting the international oil market. Experts believe that if crude oil remains expensive for a long time, pressure on petrol and diesel prices may increase in India too. At present, oil companies are keeping an eye on the situation.

How to know the rates in your city?

The latest rates of petrol and diesel can be found even sitting at home. Indian Oil customers can send SMS to 9224992249 by typing RSP and city code. BPCL customers can send a message to 9223112222. HPCL customers can know the latest rates by SMS to 9222201122.

Inflation shock from June 1, price of 5 kg small gas cylinder also increased, know the new rate

What could happen next?

The direction of the oil market currently depends on international developments. If the prices of crude oil rise further, then the prices of petrol and diesel may be affected in the coming days. Therefore, drivers are being advised to keep checking the latest rates of their city from time to time. There has been no major change in the prices of petrol and diesel on June 1, but due to the ongoing turmoil in the global oil market, it is important to keep an eye on the prices in the coming days.

Amidst the worldwide oil crisis, the Indian government has taken a big decision and reduced the export duty on petrol and diesel. The Modi government at the Center said on Saturday (May 30) that export duty on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) will be reduced from June 1. According to news agency Reuters, the export duty on petrol has been fixed at Rs 1.5 per liter, while on diesel it will be Rs 13.5 per liter, while the export duty on ATF has been kept at Rs 9.5 per liter.

Review takes place every 15 days
Rates are changing every fortnight (two week period). These changes are decided on the average worldwide prices of crude oil, petrol, diesel and ATF. Usually, the government reviews the oil prices in the international market every fortnight and accordingly the export duty on petrol, diesel and ATF is decided.

However, the same old tax will be levied on petrol and diesel supplied to the common people, nothing new has been added or subtracted from it. Let us tell you that export duty is a kind of indirect tax which the government of any country imposes on the goods sent out of its country (to other countries).

When was the last amendment made?
Export duties in the form of Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) and Road and Infrastructure Cess (RIC) on exports of petrol, diesel and ATF were first implemented on March 27, 2026. The government said the measure was aimed at ensuring adequate domestic supply of petroleum products in the face of excessive exports, at a time when global energy markets were being affected by the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Officials said that the fee is reviewed and revised every fortnight based on the current conditions of the international market. The previous amendment came into effect from May 16, 2026.

New rates effective from June 1
There will be a duty of Rs 1.5 per liter on export of petrol. This entire amount will be collected as special additional excise duty, while Road and Infrastructure Cess will not be levied. Modi government has fixed the export duty for aviation turbine fuel at Rs 9.5 per liter. This fee will be collected only as special additional excise duty. The revised rates will remain in effect for the next fortnight until the next review and changes are announced.

Petrol Diesel Price in India: In India, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased four times in the last 15 days. People are suffering from increasing inflation day by day. The reason for this is the ongoing war between Iran and America for the last three months and the Hormuz crisis. But now the people of the country are hopeful of getting some relief from the rising prices of petrol and diesel.

A recent statement by US President Donald Trump has created a stir in the oil market all over the world. Trump has said that the US Army is ready to lift the blockade from the Strait of Hormuz. Understand what effect this statement of Trump will have on the rising oil prices in India.

What has Trump said?

In fact, Trump has said that Iran will have to give up its intention of making a nuclear bomb at any cost. Along with this, he announced that the Strait of Hormuz will be immediately opened for shipping on both sides without any tax and obstruction. Trump claimed that the US Navy has destroyed the mines laid there and the ships that were stranded there can now return to their homes.

Will the pockets be loose from June 1 or will there be relief? These big changes are going to happen from LPG cylinders to banks

So will petrol and diesel be cheaper in India?

This decision of Trump can have a direct and big impact on the prices of petrol and diesel. If the blockade from Hormuz is completely lifted, then there will be every possibility of petrol and diesel becoming cheaper in India.

There are three reasons for this…

First- With the road being cleared, the supply of crude oil in the world will increase. When the supply increases, the prices of crude oil will fall in the global market.

Second- The insurance and freight charges on ships, which were skyrocketing due to the threat of war, will now be reduced. This means that it will be cheaper for India to import oil.

third- It is clear from Trump’s statement that the way for talks with Iran is also opening. If Iran agrees to America’s demands, prices may come down more rapidly.

Where can the screw get stuck?

However, it is important to understand one thing. As soon as the price decreases in the international market, petrol does not immediately become cheaper in India. It will depend on how quickly India’s government oil companies pass on the benefits of this decline to the general public. Also, if the government does not increase the tax on this occasion, then in the coming days you may see a big relief in the prices of petrol and diesel.
