US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that the peace made between India and Pakistan in May was possible only because of his stern warning. Trump said that he had given a clear message to both the neighboring countries. If they do not stop mutual conflict, America will not make any trade agreement with them.

During the America Business Forum held in Miami, Trump said, “I was negotiating a trade deal with both India and Pakistan. Then I got the news that a war-like situation had arisen between the two countries. Seven planes have fallen, the eighth is also badly damaged. Then I said, “If you guys fight, I will not do business with anyone.”

Trump jokingly said that all this happened because of his tariff policy. He further said, “I explained to them that both are nuclear power countries, trade is better than war. The very next day I got a call that both the countries have agreed on a ceasefire. I said – great, now do business.”

India rejected Trump’s claim

This is not the first time that Trump has called himself a peace messenger in the India-Pakistan conflict. According to reports, he has repeated this claim more than 60 times in the last six months that because of him the tension between the two countries reduced. However, India has completely rejected this claim and said that no third country is involved in its bilateral affairs.

Before May, India had launched ‘Operation Vermillion’, which was in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Under this mission, terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK were targeted. This action, which lasted for four days, ended on May 10, when both the countries announced a ceasefire.
