The Union Cabinet meeting on 24 December 2025 approved the expansion of Delhi Metro. The central government will spend Rs 12,015 crore on this project. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told in the briefing that about 65 lakh people travel by Delhi Metro every day, while on festivals or special occasions the number of passengers increases to beyond 80 lakh.

New metro project will be completed in 3 years

Under this project, 13 new metro stations will be built, in which there will be 10 underground stations and 3 elevated stations. This project is expected to be completed in 3 years. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, ‘The Union Cabinet has approved Phase 5A of Delhi Metro, which will have 13 stations. A new 16 kilometer long line will be laid at a cost of Rs 12,015 crore. With this, Delhi Metro network will be more than 400 kilometers.

9.9 km track will be extended from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, which will cost Rs 9,570.4 crore.

2.3 kilometer track will extend from Aerocity to Airport Terminal-1. Its cost will be Rs 1,419.6 crore.

Rs 1,024.8 crore will be spent to extend the 3.9 kilometer track from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj.

A loan of Rs 5 thousand crore will be taken for this project.

The Central Government will give Rs 1,759 crore for the expansion of Delhi Metro, while the Delhi Government also has to give the same amount. The remaining loan of about Rs 5 thousand crore will be taken. The central government says that the metro expansion will reduce pollution and traffic in Delhi.

India’s largest metro network in Delhi

Delhi Metro is India’s largest and busiest metro system, which is operated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Delhi Metro connects the city to surrounding NCR areas, including Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Bahadurgarh.

Delhi Metro is the most successful metro network in the country. There are 10 color coded lines and more than 250 metro stations on this network. These include underground and elevated stations. Apart from this, there is a museum at the Supreme Court Metro station where people can also experience running the metro.

There is big relief news regarding the Rithala-Bawana-Narela-Kundli metro corridor proposed under Delhi Metro Phase-4. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved to allot Delhi Jal Board (DJB) land to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for this corridor. With this, the way has been cleared for construction of viaduct from Rithala to Rohini Sector-25.

This matter was pending for the last several years. Now after the approval of LG, the construction of the metro line is expected to speed up.

How much and what kind of land will DMRC get?

Under the approval, DJB will hand over 50 square meter land of STP complex located at Rithala on permanent basis (99 years lease) and 1286 square meter land temporarily (for 4 years) to DMRC.

In return, DMRC will pay a total of Rs 75 lakh 50 thousand 353 to Delhi Jal Board. Rs 12 lakh 28 thousand 937 are included for permanent land, Rs 63 lakh 21 thousand 416 are included for temporary land. DMRC will be able to use this land only for the construction of metro viaduct.

Development of Narela will get big benefit

This decision will not only give impetus to the metro project but will also give a big boost to the plans to develop Narela as an education hub, residential area and sports hub. There was a demand for better connectivity in this area for a long time.

Delhi-Haryana connectivity will be strengthened

With the completion of Rithala-Kundli metro corridor, movement between Delhi and Haryana will become easier. There will be less traffic and pollution in areas like Rohini, Bawana and Narela. Lakhs of people will get direct metro facility through 21 elevated stations.

This metro route will be connected to the Red Line

This corridor will prove to be a lifeline for those areas of Delhi-Haryana border which till now did not have direct access to Metro. Narela-Kundli metro route will be connected to the Red Line, which will make traveling in NCR easier.

Delhi Metro performed a feat which had never happened before. Delhi Metro is also called the heartbeat of Delhi, several lakh people travel on different lines of the metro every day. On one such line, DMRC Red Line, in which seven lakh people travel every day, trains keep running day and night. A new tunnel was dug near Pulbangash just below the running line, but the trains above were not stopped even for a moment.

Challenging space and the magic of engineering

This place was very difficult. The metro track above is resting on tall pillars. If there was even a slight disturbance while digging below, the entire track above would shake. But our engineer brothers did such magic that nothing happened. First the soil around the upper pillars was compacted. For this, 180 holes were made and by pouring strong cement in them, the soil was made like a rock, so that the ground would not settle down even after running the machine. Kept an eye on every moment. Various types of meters and machines were installed which kept telling whether the ground had sunk or the pillars had become crooked. Engineers were on duty 24 hours. The good thing is that everything was perfect.

Easy journey after completion of Phase-4

Right now one side of the tunnel has been completed, work on the other side is also going on in full swing. Senior Delhi Metro official Anuj Dayal said, “Even a one-minute interruption on the Red Line would have put lakhs of people in great trouble. We did not let that happen.” After the completion of Phase-4, Delhi’s metro network will be more than 520 kilometers long, that is, after the completion of Phase-4, it will become easier for the common man to go from home to office, market, school.

Delhi Metro Timings Changed: Delhi Metro is the largest metro rail service in the country and this is the reason why lakhs of people rely on the metro every day whether they are traveling to their office or traveling for a long distance. The network of lines here is so spread that a large part of the city is dependent on this network from morning to night. Meanwhile, due to MCD by-elections, the schedule of Metro has changed for two days.

The movement of employees and staff related to voting should be done without any problem. For this, DMRC has decided to start the service much earlier than usual. Passengers will have to change their plans slightly for two days. Because the metro will run differently from its normal schedule these two days. Let us tell you the changed schedule.

Metro will run from 4 am these two days

According to DMRC, during the MCD by-elections, polling personnel can easily reach the metro by metro. Therefore, on 30th November and 3rd December, the metro will start much before the scheduled time. Sunday 30th November is the voting day and on this day the first metro from all the terminal stations will start running at 4 am. Usually trains are not available this early on Sundays. But this time special arrangements have been made.

Also read: Is insurance not available on railway tickets purchased offline, know how much truth is there in this?

The metro will run at an interval of every 30 minutes from 4 am to 6 am. So that the crowd pressure does not increase in the initial hours. After six o’clock, the operation of trains will again be on the normal Sunday timetable. That means the situation for the rest of the day will remain the same as on any normal Sunday. People associated with the by-elections will get a lot of relief and common travelers will also be able to catch the metro as soon as possible.

last train will leave at this time

Only the first metro will not run early on November 30. In fact, the last metro of the night will also depart a little later than usual. According to DMRC, the last train from all terminal stations will run at 11.30 pm, which is about 30 minutes late than usual. This means that employees returning from election duty or passengers traveling late at night will be able to reach home easily.

Also read: You will not have to fill this form after leaving the job, money will automatically come to your PF account; Know the new rule

Not only this, there will be a change in the starting timing on 3rd December also. Because the results of the by-elections will be declared on this day. Even on the day of results, the metro will start running from 4 am. On both these days, DMRC’s focus will be to ensure that people engaged in work related to voting and counting do not face any problem in commuting and other passengers also do not face any problem.

Also read: These are the dangers of fake IMEI, check this way whether your phone’s IMEI is real or not

In Delhi, new steps are being taken continuously to make students’ studies and travel easier. Recently, the facility of buses has been started in the capital, especially for students. Due to which thousands of students are getting relief daily. Now in the meantime, the discussion is fast that special pass can be brought for students in the metro too. If this happens, it will reduce the burden of travel to a great extent.

Right now the fare of the metro is heavy on the budget of students several times. But when the pass starts, their expenses can be reduced to a great extent. So let’s know that if the metro pass is applied. So what will be the difference on the pockets of the students and how easy the path of their education will be.

Pass for students in Delhi Metro

Expectations for students in Delhi Metro have now increased. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has recently indicated that the government is working seriously in this direction. There are already passes for students in Hyderabad Metro. But this facility has not been implemented in Delhi Metro yet. Student organizations have been demanding this for a long time.

Also read: Do you also speak to people, know how can this mistake make this mistake?

Because there is a lot of spending in coming and going to the campus daily. If the pass is applicable, then lakhs of students associated with big institutions like Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia will get relief. Now after the assurance of the Chief Minister, it is being hoped that soon the facility of students pass can start in Delhi Metro.

U-special bus has started

In view of the convenience of students in Delhi, U-Special Bus Service has started. Thousands of students going to college and university from different areas of the capital will get direct benefit. These buses are being run especially keeping in mind the needs of students. So that they can get safe and affordable journey.

Also read: Your phone is not hacked? You can know in some clicks

So far, there have been complaints that students do not get buses at class time. Or they have to pay more rent. This new service will end this problem to a great extent. This will also reduce the financial burden on the children studying and their parents. And if the journey of the students from the metro pass will become more comfortable.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced an increase in fares from Monday (25 August). DMRC has increased this on the basis of the distance of the journey. DMRC said that the fare had not increased for the last 8 years, due to which there was a lot of pressure on his economic condition. It was a compulsion to increase the fare.

What is the reason for the increase in fares?

1. Loss in Kovid – The number of passengers had reduced greatly in Corona time, which reduced the income.

2. Paying Craz – Metro has to return the loan taken from Japan’s agency Jica, whose installments are going on.

3. Repair of trains – Metro vehicles are now getting 15–20 years old. It is important to fix them in between.

4. Network Care – Track, stations, machines and rest of the structure cost huge expenditure every year.

5. Salary of employees – Thousands of people work in the metro, their salary also has to be given.

New fare on normal days-

The fare for a distance of zero to two kilometers has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11.

For 2 to 5 kilometers, now Rs 21 will be replaced instead of 20

For 5 to 12 kilometers instead of 30, now 32 rupees will have to be paid

For 12 to 21 kilometers, Rs 43 will have to be paid instead of 40

54 will have to be paid instead of 50 for 21 to 32 kilometers

For traveling more than 32 kilometers, now 64 rupees will have to be paid instead of 60

DMRC said that the fares have also been increased by up to five rupees on the Airport Express line. This increase is minimum and its purpose is to balance operating costs by providing affordable public transport.

Delhi Metro is once again in the headlines. This time the reason is not a romantic video or strange action, but a strong fight between two women. This video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which it is clearly visible that two women broke on each other and the matter reached the blowing to Dhakkamukki. The video is becoming fiercely viral on the internet, seeing that users have started beating their heads.

Women in Delhi Metro

It can be seen in the video that in the metro bogie, a woman is lying on the seat and the other woman climbed on top of it and pressing her. There is a fierce scuffle between the two. Sometimes she catches each other’s hair and sometimes tries to slap. Passengers sitting around are surprised to see this view. Many people appear busy in making a video of this whole incident instead of intervening.

No official information has been received so far for what caused the incident to start. But on social media, people are guessing in various ways. Some say that this quarrel must have happened over a seat, while some believe that the matter may also be of personal enmity.

Such incidents happen in Delhi Metro

Such incidents are not new in Delhi Metro. On the day, videos of arguments and shocks between the passengers continue to go viral. Sometimes the romance of couples comes in the discussion and sometimes the strange acts of the passengers. But this time the matter reached violence, due to which the passengers saw both fear and resentment. Users are giving different reactions to the video.

Users started having fun

The video has been shared with an ex -account named @gharkekalesh, which has been seen by millions of people till now, while many people have also liked the video. In such a situation, social media users are giving various reactions about videos. One user wrote… Hey Didi, will you finish the aunt, leave it. Another user wrote … That is why I like Delhi Metro so much. So there is another user wrote… Wow Didi Wah, Mahfil deposited in the metro.
