LPG Cylinder Rate Today on May 8: Today, Friday, May 8, 2026, the prices of domestic and commercial LPG gas cylinders remained largely stable. Despite continuous fluctuations in global oil markets, prices remained unchanged.

On May 1, due to the war between America-Israel-Iran, the price of commercial LPG (19 kg) was increased by (average) Rs 993. Commercial LPG cylinder prices in Delhi are now Rs 3,071.50 (earlier it was Rs 2,078.50). Similarly, the price of commercial LPG cylinder in Mumbai has been increased from Rs 2,031 to Rs 3,024.

How much has the price of domestic gas cylinder increased?

In March, the price of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was increased by Rs 60 per cylinder. According to Indian Oil Corporation data, after this latest change, the price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder – which is used by most households except the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme – is now Rs 913 in Delhi. Along with this, the price of 5 kg ‘Free Trade’ (FTL) cylinder also increased by about Rs 261.

There is no shortage of LPG

The government has recently clearly stated that at present there is no shortage of domestic LPG (cooking gas) in the country. However, due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, there is some pressure on the supply chain, to manage which several steps have been taken such as the gap between refill bookings has been increased from 21 days to 25 days to prevent hoarding. The rule of one house, one connection has been implemented. Now it is illegal to have both LPG and PNG (piped gas) connections at the same address. If you have PNG connection in your house, then you will have to surrender the LPG cylinder.
