On Thursday (April 23, 2026), the Ministry of External Affairs has responded to the derogatory remarks made by US President Donald Trump about India. The Foreign Ministry has avoided giving a direct response to President Trump’s ‘hellhole’ remarks regarding India and China.

Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in response to a question on Trump’s comments on Thursday (April 23), ‘We have seen some reports. That’s all I will say.

What did the US President say for India and China?

Actually, this matter came to light when US President Donald Trump posted a transcript on his Truth social platform on Wednesday (local time), which was taken from the program of a conservative talk show host Michael Savage.

In this show, Savage was talking about birthright citizenship in America. He claimed that some people come to America in the last stages of pregnancy, so that their child automatically gets American citizenship. He said that later these people call their family members from India, China and some other hellhole countries of the world.

He also argued that immigration trends were changing American society and criticized the US Constitution as not being fit for today’s times, such as air travel and the Internet.

Iran responded to Trump’s hellhole post

Iran, which is facing huge tensions with America and Israel in the Middle East, has also responded in support of India and China on President Donald Trump’s hellhole comment. The Consulate General of Iran, located in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, posted on social media platform X and said, ‘China and India are the cradles of civilization. ‘Hellhole’ is actually the place where its war-criminal president threatens to destroy Iran’s civilization.

This comment made by the Iranian Consulate General points towards the threats made by Trump during the conflict with Iran. Trump had threatened that if Iran does not accept his conditions and does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, then the entire Iranian civilization could be destroyed.
