He also said that he is planning to talk to Elon Musk regarding internet restoration in Iran. Trump said on Sunday (January 11, 2026) (local time) that the Iranian leader has sought talks following his threats of military action amid massive anti-government protests in the Islamic Republic.

Trump told reporters on Air Force One, ‘Iranian leaders called yesterday. A meeting is being fixed with him. They want to talk. However, Trump also said that we may have to take action before the meeting. The government of Iran is facing the biggest protests after 2022. According to Reuters, hundreds have lost their lives in the violent protests. Amidst the ever-increasing violent incidents, Trump has repeatedly threatened that if force is used against the protesters, he will do his best to stop it. Iran has not revealed the official number of people killed in the protests.
