Draft voter list will be released in Rajasthan today on 16th December under Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Under this process of the Election Commission, notices will be issued to 16.46 lakh voters out of 5.48 crore voters.

Necessary documents will be asked from these voters. The Election Commission says that this is being done with the aim of making the voter list more transparent, pure and updated, so that any kind of error or dispute can be avoided in the upcoming elections.

Don’t panic after getting notice- State Election Officer

Under the draft voter list and notice process, 16.46 lakh voters to whom notices will be sent will have to submit the necessary documents within the stipulated time. The state election officer has clarified that there is no need to panic after receiving the notice. If the documents are found correct, no voter’s name will be removed from the list. If any voter’s name is not included in the draft voter list, then he can get his name added by applying as per the prescribed procedure.

migella enough time to improve

Regarding appeal and opportunity for improvement, the Election Commission has assured that voters will be given adequate opportunities. If anyone has any objection to the draft list or wants to make corrections in name, address or other details, an appeal can be made at the prescribed stages. The SIR process has been completed in 199 out of 200 assembly seats in the state. This process could not be done only due to the by-election on Anta assembly seat of Bara district.

The draft will be uploaded on the official website of the State Election Commission

As part of the availability of the draft list and the role of political parties, the draft voter list of 61,136 polling stations in the state will also be shared with the political parties. This will increase transparency and objections can be resolved in time. This list will be available on the official website of the State Election Department, election.rajasthan.gov.in, where voters will be able to easily check their names and lodge corrections or claims if needed.

If you too are newly married then you too must be facing a problem. Actually, getting your spouse’s name added to your family’s voter list can be a big task. Now to make this work easier, SIR (State Information Registry) process has been started in the country. If you also want to include your wife’s name in government records like voter list, then you can do it easily by adopting this process.

What is the “SIR” process?

“SIR” is a process run by the Election Commission of India, whose full name is Special Intensive Revision. The main work of the “SIR” process is to revise the voter list, i.e. inspect it, remove the names of dead or migrated voters from the voter list and include the names of eligible new voters, so that correct information can be obtained about the voters.

things to note

If you have recently got married and you want to add your wife’s name, then use of SIR is possible only if she is an Indian voter in some state. If you want to get their name added to the family register or ration card/citizen identity document, the process will be related to the state-level citizen/family register instead of SIR. It has nothing to do with SIR. The SIR process is only for updating the voter list.

Also read: All cases related to ‘Digital Arrest’ transferred to CBI, Supreme Court said – investigate with complete freedom, state government and other institutions should cooperate.

How will the name be updated in SIR?

Voter list revision has started in many states and union territories in SIR 2025. The SIR process has not yet started in the entire country. However, if this process has started in your area, then you will have to contact the local election office or booth-level officer (BLO).

Booth-level officer (BLO) will come to your home and give you the SIR form or you can also get it online. For this you https://voters.eci.gov.in/ Will have to visit the website.

Apart from your information in the form, fill the full name, date of birth, address, and all other information of your bride/wife. Apart from this, also fill the details about the old history of the voter i.e. old voter card etc.

Submit your form to the booth-level officer (BLO).

After the form is submitted, the Election Commission or the local office will issue the draft voter-list/register. See your name in it.

If your name is not in the draft list then you can register your objection. There is a prescribed period for this.

Preparations for Bihar assembly elections have gained momentum. Meanwhile, under the special intensive revision (SIR), there has been a large number of objections in the voter list. According to the Election Commission, so far 2,27,636 voters have registered objections and claims on entries in the draft voter list. Of these, 29,872 applications have been given to add new names and 1,97,764 applications have been given to remove the names from the voter list.

13,33,793 youth filled Form-6 to add name

The Commission has submitted 33,771 applications in the last 7 days. The most encouraging signs in this process are coming from voters who vote for the first time. In August itself, 13,33,793 youth have applied to add their names to the voter list under Form-6.

According to an Election Commission official, this number shows that the youth have a keen interest to participate in the democratic process. If all applications are approved, then 13 lakh new names will be added to the voter list this year. The Commission also informed that 61,248 applications related to it have been settled in the last 7 days.

The commission report also states that booth level agents (BLA) appointed by political parties have also contributed significantly. 1,60,813 BLA of 12 political parties in the state is actively assisting voters. Of these, the BLA of CPI (ML) filed the highest number of 118 claims and objections, while RJD agents submitted 10 forms till Saturday.

CPI (ML) filed 118 claims

15 applications in 118 claims and objections filed through CPI (ML) were to add new names and 103 to remove the names from the application list. Officials said that the efforts of political parties, voters and commission are helping to make this revision process transparent and flawless.

Earlier, more than 65 lakh names were removed from the list under the SIR campaign, including illegal or duplicate entries. The last date for filing claims and objections is 31 August.

Shocking information has come to light during the special intensive revision (SIR) campaign of the voter list in Bihar. According to senior sources of the Election Commission, during the survey conducted from door to door in the state, booth level officers (BLO) have received a large number of people who have come illegally from countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar to India and were trying to get their names added to the voter list.

Sources say that these suspected names are now being investigated thoroughly and the names that will not be verified after 1 August 2025 will not be included in the final voter list to be published on 30 September. It is believed that after the publication of the final list, the Commission can make public the number of these illegal migrants.

When is the last date for this process?

Meanwhile, the work of filling the voter calculation form and the required details such as names, date of birth, address, base number and voter ID number is being completed rapidly. According to the Commission, so far more than 80 percent eligible voters have submitted their forms. However, the Commission has set the last date of this process on 25 July, but it is expected that this work will be completed before that.

What to do if the name is not in the list?

If your name is not included in the draft (temporary) list of voters released on August 1, then there is no need to panic. You can apply to the first voting registration officer (ERO) with your required documents. If the solution is not found from there, then you can appeal to the District Election Officer (DEO) and then the Chief Electoral Officer of the State (CEO).
