If you are a student of engineering or science and want to experience working in a big government research institute during your studies, then this news is for you. Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has started the application process for 6 months paid internship at its flagship Research Center Building (RCI), Hyderabad. Through this internship, students will get an opportunity to work on defense research, new technology and real projects. A total of 160 seats have been made available and the selection will be done on the basis of merit and academic performance.

Who can apply?

Final year students can apply for this internship. This includes students studying in 7th and 8th semester of B.Tech. Apart from this, candidates doing postgraduation in Engineering and Science (Physics or Chemistry) are also eligible to apply. The candidate must be studying from a recognized Indian institution and must have a good academic record.

How much stipend will I get?

Selected students will be given a stipend of Rs 5000 per month during the internship. For this, it will be necessary to be present for at least 15 working days in a month. Stipend will be released in two phases, first payment will be given after completion of 3 months and second after completion of 6 months internship. Students who successfully complete the internship will also be given a certificate. However, accommodation and food arrangements will not be provided by the institute.

How to apply?

Interested candidates will have to fill the prescribed application form and send offline application along with necessary documents. Marksheet, identity card, referral letter and other necessary documents will have to be attached with the application. After this the application will have to be sent to the address of RCI Hyderabad through speed post. It is necessary to write “Application for Paid Internship” and the relevant branch code on the envelope.
