<p style="text-align: justify;">Not only oil, this struggle is also going to affect the dry fruits supplied in India. India imports dry fruits like raisins, walnuts, almonds, figs, apricots, from Afghanistan. India also calls dry fruits like dates, Mamra almonds, pistachios from Iran.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier Afghanistan used to send dry fruits to India via Pakistan, but in recent times, Afghanistan has sent dry fruits to India from Chabahar port in Iran amidst increasing tension with Pakistan. Now due to the war between Iran and Israel, the supply of dry fruits has stopped. Due to this, the prices of dry fruits in Delhi&#8217;s wholesale markets have increased by five to ten times. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Dry fruits transported to India via Dubai </h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to media reports, dried fruits imported from Iran were mostly transported to India via Dubai. In fact, Iran&#8217;s border is with Afghanistan, so due to the easy transportation, dry fruits are sent from Afghanistan to Iran and then exports to other countries including Dubai.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dubai is a major trading center. A large number of businessmen here have made warehouses and this is where dry fruits are supplied to Indian businessmen. Delhi Grocery Committee General Secretary Dheeraj V. Sindhwani says, the supply of dry fruits from Iran has decreased, if it is not restored soon, then the prices of dried fruits may increase in the coming months.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">India also asks for all these things from Iran</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Not only dry fruits and oils, India also asks for Iran&#8217;s salt, sulfur, soil, stone, plaster, lime and cement, mineral fuel, plastic and its products, iron and steel, organic chemicals gum, resins and lacquer. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Trade between India and Iran</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In March 2025, India sent $ 130 million goods to Iran and called for US $ 43 million. Exports for Iran have increased from US $ 88.1 million to US $ 41.5 million as compared to the same period last year. That is, there has been a jump of 47.1 percent in business in just one year. However, imports from Iran have come down by US $ 56.2 million to 23.6 percent to US $ 13.3 million. </p>

In view of the problem, traders and importers have met with government officials this week and asked to consider clarification on alternative supply sources and import duty structure on Afghan dried fruits to be imported through Iran. Let us know that Afghanistan sends dried fruits from Iran&#8217;s Chabahar port to India on a large scale, whereas earlier dry fruits were sent from Afghanistan to India. </p>
