Low Sperm Count Causes: The fertility rate in men is continuously decreasing. Now a shocking revelation has come to light. In fact, according to new research, common pesticides used in agriculture can harm the fertility of men. Studies have found that pesticides called neonicotinoids reduce the sperm count of male animals kept in labs and weaken their reproductive systems. Since these chemicals are most commonly used in agriculture, the possibility of their impact on humans also increases.

What came out in the research?

It has become clear from the studies conducted in the last few years that these pesticides used in agriculture can be a major reason behind the decreasing fertility in men and the decline in sperm quality. In a new review published in the Environmental Research Journal, 21 experiments conducted between 2005 and 2025 were analyzed. The results showed that in male rats exposed to neonicotinoid chemicals, negative effects were seen on sperm count, motility and structure, and damage was also found in the secretion of testicles.

What do experts say?

Chief writer of research Sumaiya S. According to Irfan, an epidemiologist at George Mason University, “We found that exposure to these chemicals reduces sperm quality, causes hormonal imbalance and causes damage to testicular tissue.” His colleague Veronica G. Sanchez, who is a research assistant at the same university, says this study is also important for the general public because “pesticide residues present in food can also gradually affect fertility.”

Why a matter of concern?

Although this research was done on animals, but scientists say that the process of sperm formation is almost the same in all mammals, hence the effect found in animals is a matter of concern for humans also. A survey conducted in the US found that almost half of the population over the age of three had chemical traces of neonicotinoids in their bodies, and the levels were even higher in children. These pesticides are completely absorbed into the plants, so even after washing fruits or vegetables, their traces remain. According to research, these chemicals increase oxidative stress in the body, which causes damage to sperm cells and DNA. Additionally, these hormones affect signaling and also damage the tissue of the testis, thereby disrupting the process of sperm formation. This is the reason why sperm mobility decreases and the chances of fertility reduce.

Low Sperm Count Causes: Obesity has become a common problem in today’s busy life. There are many reasons for this, such as bad lifestyle, poor eating habits, lack of physical activity and stress. It is not only causing diseases like diabetes, heart attack and blood pressure, but the risk of many other diseases is also increasing, which also includes the fertility of men. This has been mentioned in many reports. Let us tell you whether it is really something like this or it is just a rumour.

Does it really have an impact?

The answer is yes. It has an impact. Dr. at IndiaIVF Richika Sahay has mentioned that when men are overweight or obese, they start facing fertility problems. Cells increase in the body, which start producing estrogen in large quantities. Due to this the balance of hormones gets disturbed. It has a great impact on the formation and quality of sperm. Excess fat around the abdomen can increase the scrotal temperature, which has a negative effect on sperm. Apart from this, obesity also causes problem of low libido and erectile dysfunction, due to which problem of pregnancy starts occurring.

How is the effect?

According to experts, the problem of sperm count is seen in men who have high body mass index (BMI). That means they have less sperm count. Obesity also increases insulin resistance in the body, which can lead to problems like type-2 diabetes. All these reasons contribute to gradually reducing sperm count. Apart from this, obesity can cause the problem of oxidative stress in the body, due to which the fertility rate reduces. The good thing is that by controlling obesity, sperm quality and count can be improved. Body weight is controlled by healthy diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep and staying away from stress. As weight decreases, testosterone level starts increasing and sperm production also starts normalizing.

What things should be avoided?

If you want to avoid the problem of fertility rate, then you should always try to stay away from junk food, fried foods and sweet drinks. Apart from this, alcohol and smoking also have a bad effect on sperm count. Try to exercise for 30 minutes daily.

Sperm count for pregnancy: The dream of becoming a parent is special for every couple, but sometimes it is difficult to fulfill this dream. Many couples try for months or years, but do not get success. During this time, an important aspect related to men’s fertility is sperm count. It is important to know how much the sperm count should be done to produce a child and what can be done if it is low.

Often you must have seen that if children are not happening, then there is a deficiency in women and if you want to go to the doctor, then the checkup is also of women. Because many times family men do not want to test, in such a situation it is important to know that sperm count is a very important thing in doing a child.

According to Dr. Sunil Jindal, the sperm count in a healthy man should be at least 15 million per milliliters or more. If this number is less than 15 million, it is called ‘Low Sperm Count’, which can cause difficulty in pregnancy.

Supplements – Eat zinc, vitamin C, vitamin E etc. with the advice of a doctor

When should the doctor meet

If pregnancy is not happening even after regular efforts for a year, then both partners should conduct fertility tests. Men are required to get sperm count, movement of sperm and quality.

To fulfill the desire to produce a child, not only emotional preparation, but physical health is equally important. The dream of becoming a parent can be easily fulfilled by the right sperm count, healthy lifestyle and the advice of a doctor on time.
