In the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) election 2025, this time Aryan Mann of ABVP has won the victory. He managed to capture the post of President in the election of Delhi University Students Union. Aryan Mann is originally from Bahadurgarh, Haryana. He did B.Com from Hansraj College in 2025. Currently, Masters from Library Science at Delhi University. His grandfather was the head of Srichand Maan Lowa Seventeen Khap.

The counting of Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) election 2025-26 was held peacefully on Friday (September 19). According to the final results, Aryan Mann was the winner with 28841 votes out of 59882 votes for the post of President, while Joshleen Nandita Chaudhary finished second with 12645 votes.

Rahul Jhansla won the post of vice president

Out of the total 59869 votes received for the post of vice -president, Rahul Jhansla was the winner after getting 29339 votes while Govind Tanwar finished second after getting 20547 votes. Kunal Chaudhary was the winner after getting 23779 votes out of the total 59863 votes received on the post of Secretary, while Kabir finished second after getting 16117 votes. Deepika Jha was the winner by securing 21825 votes out of a total of 59919 votes in the post of Joint Secretary, while Lavkush Bhadana finished second after getting 17380 votes.

How many candidates were there for the post of President and Vice President?

Chief Electoral Officer, appointed for DUSU Election 2025-26, Prof. Raj Kishore Sharma said, “This time there were 9 candidates for the post of President, 3 for the post of Vice President, 4 for the post of Secretary and 5 for the post of Joint Secretary.” He further said, “Out of the total 59882 votes received for the president, Anjali got a total of 5385, Anuj Kumar 1028, Aryan Mann 28841, 28841, Divyanshu Singh Yadav to Divyanshu Singh Yadav, 1513 to Joshanin Nandita Chaudhary, Rahul Kumar. 724 votes were received by 724 votes, Yogesh Meena 514 and Abhishek Kumar 535 votes.

He told that 3175 students chose NOTA for the post of president. Giving a detailed description of the total 59869 votes for the post of vice president, he said that Govind Tanwar got a total of 20547, Rahul Jhansla 29339 and Sohan Kumar got 4163 votes. NOTA was given 5820 votes for the post of Vice President. A total of 59863 votes were received for the post of Secretary, out of which Abhinandana candidate got 9535, Kabir 16117, Kunal Chaudhary 23779 and Mohit got a total of 3067 votes.

Dusu election, which is called the biggest celebration of student politics in Delhi University, is being held in a special style this time. Voting has started today and students of 52 colleges, departments and institutions of the university are voting to choose their representatives. This time 21 candidates are trying luck in the election field and four important posts – President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary – are getting a tough fight.

The biggest attraction of DUSU election is President post. This time women candidates have made it more special. Congress’s student unit NSUI has nominated a woman as Presidential candidate after 17 years. Josleen Nandita Chaudhary is in the fray this time for NSUI. At the same time, ABVP has expressed confidence in Aryan Mann. Anjali has also claimed the President’s post from the Left Alliance (IISA and SFI).

Not only this, this time a total of seven women students are in the fray, out of which three have landed for the post of President. In 2009, Nupur Sharma of ABVP won the election of president. In such a situation, this 2025 election has become more interesting than the presence of women candidates.

Direct triangular contest to the post of Vice President

The match is also tough for the chair of the Vice President. Govind Tanwar from ABVP, Rahul Jhansla from NSUI and Sohan Kumar from Left alliance are in the fray. Interestingly, all three candidates are students of Buddhist Studies.

Secretary and Joint Secretary Post also collided

Kunal Chaudhary of ABVP and Kabir of NSUI are face to face for the secretary post. Abhinandana is a contender for this post from the left panel. Kunal is a student of Buddhist Studies Department, while Kabir is studying from Law Center-2.

At the same time, in the race of Joint Secretary, ABVP has expressed confidence in Deepika Jha, who is a student of Buddhist Studies Department. Lavkush Bhadana from NSUI and Abhishek Kumar of Hindu College from the left panel are in the fray.

Encouragement and student enthusiasm in colleges

There is a lot of excitement in colleges since morning. Voting will be held in the morning session colleges from 8:30 am to 1 pm. At the same time, polling will be held in evening colleges from 3 pm to 7:30 pm. About 2.75 lakh students voters will cast their votes in the election this time.

According to the Delhi University administration, this time around 700 EVMs are being used. However, voting is still being done at the college level with ballot paper.

Result will come on 19 September

Who will be heavy in the election, it will be decided on September 19. On this day, votes will be counted and the results will be declared. Not only the candidates are waiting for the results, but the eyes of every student and organization related to Delhi University politics are also fixed on this.
