1. The length of Maruti e-Vitara is 4,275 mm, width is 1,800 mm and height is 1,640 mm. This electric car has a wheelbase of 2700 mm. This EV of Maruti is based on Heartect-e architecture. This means that the electric model of this car has been made directly and not after the petrol-diesel model has been made.
2. E-Vitara is going to come with two battery pack options, one of which is 49 kWh and the other is 61 kWh battery pack. Lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) blade cells have been used in both these battery packs, which provide 143 bhp power on the 49 kWh battery pack and 173 bhp power on the 61 kWh battery pack. Single motor has been used in this vehicle.
3. Maruti E-Vitara claims to have a range of 543 km with a 61 kWh battery pack, which is more than the rivals of this vehicle.
4. Many powerful features have been provided in e-Vitara. This car has a 10.25-inch screen, 10.1-inch instrument cluster, electronic parking brake, recline rear seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags and driver seat adjustment in 10 ways.
5. Maruti has also prepared a better eco-system for e-Vitara. Maruti Suzuki has opened more than 2,000 charging stations in more than 1,000 cities. Maruti claims that people will get the facility to charge electric cars every 5 to 10 kilometers. For this, automakers have announced the launch of ‘e for me’ app.

Maruti Suzuki Launch 1 Lakh EV Charging Stations: Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its first electric car in the Indian market soon. Maruti e-Vitara will be launched in the Indian market in January 2026. Maruti revealed this car in India on December 2, 2025 and along with it announced that one lakh EV charging stations will be opened in India. A major change can be seen in India’s EV infrastructure with the opening of these charging stations. People will not have to worry about charging their vehicles because of charging stations and people will use electric cars more instead of petrol-diesel vehicles.

One India, One EV Charging

Maruti Suzuki has made this announcement with the launch of the new ‘e for me’ charging platform. This is a digital solution, which has been started considering the need of charging electric vehicles. Maruti has made deals with 13 big charge point operators (COPs) for this. These operators will set up public EV charging stations across the country.

These EV charging stations of Maruti can be accessed through the mobile app and infotainment system of e-Vitara. This platform can provide better experience for private and partner operated networks. Maruti currently has more than 2,000 EV charging stations open in India, which are in more than 1,100 cities. Now automakers want to open more than one lakh EV charging points across the country by 2030. With the expansion of Maruti’s EV charging facility, people will not have to worry even while traveling long distances.

E-Vitara will be launched in India

This entire road map has been prepared around Made-in-India Maruti e-Vitara. Maruti e-Vitara has been tested by driving for more than 1 crore kilometers, in which this electric car was driven in areas ranging from snowy to sandy areas. The ARAI-certified single charging range of Maruti e-Vitara is 543 kilometers.

Maruti E-Vitara Bharat NCAP Safety Test: Maruti Suzuki has introduced the first electric car in the Indian market. This EV will be launched in the Indian market in January 2026. This electric car is available in about 12 countries of Europe. This EV will enter the Indian market in January 2026. But before this, Maruti’s electric car went through the safety test of Bharat NCAP, in which the e-Vitara has achieved 5-star safety rating. This car has completely passed the safety test. Earlier, Maruti E-Vitara has received 4-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

Safety score of Maruti e-Vitara

Along with the 5-star safety rating, Maruti e-Vitara has also become the car of Maruti to get the best score in India’s crash test program. In Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), e-Vitara has got 31.49 points out of 32. During the frontal off-set crash test, in which the car traveled at a speed of 64 kmph, it also got a ‘Good’ rating for the head and neck protection of the driver and front passenger. Whereas ‘ordinary’ rating was given for driver’s chest and ‘good’ rating was given for passenger’s chest protection.

In Child Occupant Protection (COP), e-Vitara has got 43 points out of 49. It has got 24 out of 24 marks in dynamic testing and 12 out of 12 marks in child restraint system installation. The remaining 7 marks are given for the vehicle assessment component.

Safety features of Maruti E-Vitara

Safety of passengers has been taken full care of in Maruti e-Vitara. Its standard features include 7 airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchor points and electronic stability control. This SUV of Maruti has been provided with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Along with this, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors are also provided.

Along with this, the foundation stone of the six-lane underpass on Ahmedabad-Mahesana-Palanpur Road and the foundation stone of the railway overbridge on Ahmedabad-Virmagam Road will also be laid. In the energy sector, PM Modi will inaugurate the power distribution projects of more than Rs 1000 crore of North Gujarat Electricity Company Limited (UGVCL). These projects will modernize power supply and reduce the problem of disrupting electricity in bad weather.

Redevelopment of slums

In PM Modi’s visit, urban development will also get big gifts. Under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) in Ahmedabad, the slums of Ramapir No Tekri area will be redeveloped. Along with this, the foundation of Sardar Patel Ring Road widening, projects related to water and sewer management of the city, new stamps and registration building in Ahmedabad West and State Level Data Storage Center in Gandhinagar will be laid. These projects will not only strengthen civil services but will also give a new direction to digital governance.

The program of Hansalpur is considered to be an important link for this visit, as PM Modi will not only start the global export of Suzuki’s electric car E-Vitara but will also launch local production of hybrid battery electrode in TDS Lithium-ion battery plant (Toshiba, Deno and Suzuki’s joint project).

Earlier last week, it was reported in the CNBC-TV18 report that due to lack of rare-economical magnets, it is delayed in launching it and negotiations are going on to reduce the production target.

Along with this, at around 10 am today, the company’s shares were trading at Rs 12,839 to climb 1.7 percent at the NSE at Rs 12,839. Since the beginning of the year, Maruti Suzuki shares have gained up to 19 percent.

However, it is also necessary to mention here that even though India is very dependent on China for Rare Earth Magnets and imports about 80 % of its need, but despite this, the impact of China’s ban on India’s auto stock was limited. This is because more than 95 % trains sold in India have internal combustion engines.
