First of all let’s talk about mAadhaar app. This was the first official mobile app of UIDAI, which can be called your Aadhaar Manager in a way. With this app, you can download PDF of your Aadhaar, create Virtual ID (VID), lock/unlock Aadhaar, update your details and manage many basic services related to Aadhaar. That means mAadhaar = to manage Aadhaar. Now let’s talk about the new e-Aadhaar app, which has been created by UIDAI for paperless, smart and highly secure digital identity. This app offers modern features like Face Authentication, QR Code Authentication and adding 5 Aadhaar Profiles from the same mobile number. That means to use e-Aadhaar = Aadhaar Identity. UIDAI has clearly stated that e-Aadhaar has not replaced mAadhaar—both have different roles and together make Aadhaar services more modern and secure.

In today’s time, Aadhar card has become the most important document for every Indian. From government schemes to bank account, mobile SIM, school admission or any official work, it is needed. The 12 digit unique number given in it is issued for lifetime, but sometimes people forget to keep it safe or the card gets lost somewhere.

If this has happened to you too then there is no need to panic now. Because now even without Aadhar card number, you can download your e-Aadhar card sitting at home. In such a situation, let us tell you today that if your Aadhar card is lost and you do not even remember the number, then how can you download a new Aadhar card sitting at home.

Download Aadhaar will be done even without number

• To download a new Aadhaar in case you lose your Aadhaar card and do not remember the number, first go to the UIDAI website.
• After this, click on Retrieve Lost or Forgotten UID/EID in the My Aadhaar section.
• Now after filling your name, date of birth and registered mobile number or email, you will have to enter the captcha code.
• After this you will get an OTP, verify it.
• After verifying the OTP, you will see your Aadhaar details on the screen.
• Apart from this, Aadhar card will also be sent to you through SMS or email.
• This facility is absolutely free.

If mobile number is not linked then download like this

If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar then you will have to go to the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. There you will have to provide the 28 digit Enrollment ID number which is given on the slip at the time of making Aadhaar. After this biometric verification will be done. After completion of the process, e-Aadhaar will be provided to you. This service costs approximately Rs 30.

Aadhaar can also be ordered from PVC

UIDAI is now also giving the facility to people to order PVC Aadhar card. This card looks like an ATM or debit card and can be easily kept in the wallet. For this, you will have to go to the UIDAI website, enter your Aadhaar number and verify the OTP. After this click on Order Aadhaar PVC Card option. Now after depositing Rs 50 online your order will be processed. UIDAI prints the card and hands it over to the Indian Postal Department within 5 days. After this the Aadhar card is delivered to your home through speed post.
