Voices start being heard more clearly. Yawning, in a way, presses the reset button on your ears.

While yawning, two small muscles present inside the ear, Tensor tympani muscle and Stapedius muscle, become active for some time. This tightens the bones of the ear for some time. Due to this the sound becomes less audible for some time. As soon as these muscles relax, hearing improves. That’s why after yawning, sounds seem clearer to you.

You must have felt that while traveling in an aeroplane, your ears get blocked and a pop sound is heard. The reason for this is also the imbalance of pressure. In such a situation, yawning opens the Eustachian tube and equalizes the pressure. Also the ears immediately feel light and clean.

2. If there is pain, water, pus or itching in the ear – In such a situation, adding oil can further increase the infection.

What precautions should be taken while adding oil?

1. Always use lukewarm oil only.

2. Keep in mind that the oil should not be too hot, otherwise the ears may burn.

3. After adding oil, clean very gently with a cotton ball stick.

4. Do not insert the stick deep inside. This can cause more dirt to enter the ear. If the child is very small, do not clean yourself.
