According to the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude occurred in Afghanistan on Wednesday. This earthquake occurred at a depth of 140 kilometers. Earlier on April 12, an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude had occurred in Afghanistan at a depth of 150 kilometers.

Indian government had provided humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

On April 6, the Ministry of External Affairs had informed that India has provided humanitarian aid to help Afghanistan affected by floods and earthquakes. Posting on Twitter, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said that India delivered humanitarian aid and disaster relief (HADR) material. This included kitchen sets, hygiene kits, plastic sheets, tarpaulins, sleeping bags and other items.

He had said that India stands in solidarity with the people of Afghanistan. Committed to providing humanitarian aid and support in this difficult time.

Death toll from natural disasters in Afghanistan

According to Tolo News, officials said that the death toll due to natural disasters in 25 provinces of Afghanistan has increased to 35. 52 people have been injured in the last two days. According to the Red Cross, earthquakes occur frequently in Afghanistan. The Hindu Kush area here is an active center of extreme earthquakes.
