Due to the sudden dense fog in Delhi-NCR on Saturday morning, two accidents took place at two different places on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Greater Noida. More than 15 vehicles collided one after the other. More than ten people have been slightly injured in the accident. Those who have been sent home after first aid. This accident occurred due to low visibility on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Dadri and traffic police reached the spot, removed the vehicles from the expressway and parked them at a safe place.

According to the information, the first accident happened near the flyover located in Chakrasenpur village. Where due to sudden fog, three vehicles collided nearby one after the other. After that the second accident happened near Samadhipur flyover, about 500 meters from Chakrasenpur. The accident was so severe that more than 10 vehicles got damaged after colliding with each other. Many luxury cars were also damaged in the accident. On receiving the information, Badalpur and Dadri Kotwali police were alerted. First aid has been given to those who were slightly injured. Dadri police station in-charge says that there have been minor injuries in the accident. There has been no loss of life.

15 more than 100 vehicles collided with each other

More than 15 vehicles were damaged in both the accidents that took place near the flyovers of Chakrasenpur and Samadhipur villages. After the accident, traffic on the expressway was also disrupted for some time. Dadri police reached the spot along with the toll management and got the damaged vehicles removed with the help of crane. However, a long queue of vehicles was seen on the side going towards Manesar. After a lot of effort, the traffic was normalized by removing the vehicles.

Sudden shadow fog, visibility reduced

According to eyewitnesses, the weather was completely clear till morning. Suddenly there was fog and visibility reduced. Due to which this accident happened. The incident is said to have happened around 8.30 minutes. It is being told that first a truck collided with the car going ahead. After that the queue of vehicles continued to form.

Banavad village incident turned out to be a rumor

First information about the accident was received near Banavad village. After which Badalpur Kotwali police also reached the spot. However, the incident here turned out to be a rumour. Police received many calls regarding accidents.

Vehicles seen crawling in the fog

A blanket of fog suddenly appeared early in the morning and remained throughout the day. However, the sun came out for some time in the afternoon. But as evening approached, visibility once again appeared less. Vehicles were seen crawling from the National Highway to the Expressway.

Delhi toll tax hike: Passengers traveling on highway and expressway will now have to pay more tolls. From April 1, toll tax has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 40. New rates will be implemented on many major routes including Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) and National Highway-9 (NH-9).

The toll for light vehicles (cars, jeep) from Delhi to Meerut has increased from Rs 165 to Rs 170. For light commercial vehicles, it has been reduced from 265 to 275 rupees. The toll for buses and trucks has been increased from 560 to 580 rupees. Passengers traveling from Indirapuram to Meerut will also have to loose pockets. One side toll for car and jeep has been increased to Rs 115, while for the return journey, Rs 175 will have to be paid.

New toll rate on Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE)
Toll rates have also been increased on EPE. The toll for car and jeep from Jakhauli to Chhajunagar has been increased to Rs 295. Those traveling between Duhai to Jakhauli will have to pay Rs 100 in Mavikala, Rs 45 in Bargaon and Rs 20 in Dasna. The main toll plaza will now have to pay 195 rupees at Chhajunagar. All vehicles traveling from other EPE entry points will have to pay toll at increased rates.

Toll rate increased on NH-9

Toll rates have also been increased for drivers traveling on NH-9.
• Light vehicles will have to pay Rs 175 instead of Rs 170.
• The toll for light commercial vehicles was increased from 270 to Rs 280.
• For bus and trucks, now Rs 590 will be taken in place of 570.
• Thi Excel commercial vehicles will now give Rs 640 toll, earlier it was Rs 620.
• The toll of heavy machines was increased from 890 to 925 rupees.
• The toll of vehicles larger than seven axles has been increased from Rs 1085 to Rs 1125.

However, in some categories, toll has also been reduced. The toll for private four wheelers has been reduced from 170 to Rs 165. Similarly, the toll of commercial vehicle (LCV) has been reduced from 275 to 265 rupees.

Impact on passengers’ pockets
Increase in toll rates will increase the economic burden on passengers and transporters traveling daily. Especially the drivers who travel long distances will have to pay more toll, which can also increase the goods. The new rates will be implemented from April 1, so if you are planning to travel on the highway or expressway, then make your journey in mind the increased toll.
