Deaths of many people have also been recorded. Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu areas of Congo are said to be the most affected at present. Many cases of infection have also been reported in Uganda.

No case of Ebola has been reported in India, but the central government has increased caution. The Health Ministry has issued a health advisory for travelers coming from Congo, Uganda and South Sudan.
