AI, semiconductors and data centers are going to become the biggest engines of India’s economic growth in the coming times. The government’s focus is clearly visible on domestic semiconductor manufacturing, AI-driven innovation and large-scale data center infrastructure. This will strengthen the technology ecosystem and give a big boost to high-value jobs, exports and digital sovereignty. The demand for data centers is increasing rapidly due to cloud computing, fintech, OTT platforms and advanced AI applications. The semiconductor ecosystem will provide strong support to electronics, EVs, telecom and defense manufacturing. Experts believe that with strategic investments, policy support and skilled workforce, these sectors will drive long-term growth. In the coming years, AI, semiconductors and data centers will not only increase productivity but will also play a decisive role in making India a global technology hub and innovation leader.

Budget Highlights: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the financial year 2026-27 in Parliament today. This was his ninth consecutive budget speech, in which he presented the blueprint of ‘Developed India’ to the country, focusing on ‘reforms, investment and youth power’. With revolutionary changes in capital expenditure and infrastructure, this budget has brought many new hopes for the middle class, youth and farmers.

10 biggest and important announcements of Budget 2026:

1. Historic spending on infrastructure

The government has set a budget of ₹12.2 lakh crore, the largest ever allocation for infrastructure development. This is about 9% more than last year. Its main objective is to create new employment opportunities by accelerating the work of roads, bridges and power projects across the country.

2. Network of 7 new high-speed railway corridors

This budget is going to prove revolutionary for the railway sector. The Finance Minister has announced the construction of 7 new high-speed railway corridors in the country. This includes major routes like Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Pune and Pune-Hyderabad. Besides, emphasis has also been laid on expansion of ‘Kavach’ system for the safety of trains.

3. Emphasis on ‘girl hostel’ and education in every district

To ease the path of women empowerment and education, the government has set a big target of building at least one girls hostel in every district of the country. Additionally, ‘Destination Digital Knowledge Grid’ will be established for students, which will provide high quality education in digital form.

4. Health: Cancer-sugar medicines cheaper and 3 new AIIMS

Giving relief to the common man, the government has proposed to reduce import duty and other taxes on medicines for serious diseases like cancer and diabetes, which will make these medicines cheaper. Also, 5 new Regional Medical Centers will be opened in collaboration with the private sector. Apart from this, three new AIIMS will also be built in the country.

5. Launch of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0

‘Semiconductor Mission 2.0’ has been launched with an investment of ₹40,000 crore to make India a global chip manufacturing hub. This will not only increase domestic electronics production but will also strengthen Indian Intellectual Property (IP) in chip designing.

6. ‘Bharat Vistar’: The magic of AI for farmers

To digitalize the agriculture sector, the government has announced the launch of a multilingual AI tool named ‘Bharat Vistar’. It will provide farmers with accurate information about crop health, weather forecast and market prices in their own language.

7. Relief to middle class in TCS, no change in income tax

There is a big relief news for taxpayers. TCS (Tax Collected at Source) on study, treatment and tour packages abroad has been reduced from 5% to 2%. Apart from this, the deadline for filing revised ITR has been extended from December 31 to March 31, giving taxpayers an additional 3 months to correct their mistakes. However, no change has been made in the income tax slab.

8. ₹10,000 crore ‘growth fund’ for MSMEs

A special ‘SME Growth Fund’ of ₹10,000 crore has been created to promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Also, a special fund of ₹40,000 crore has been allocated for electronics manufacturing so that small entrepreneurs can also become part of the global supply chain.

9. Climate action and ‘green’ connectivity

₹20,000 crore has been allocated for ‘Carbon Absorption and Utilization Scheme’ towards environmental protection. 20 new national waterways will be started in the next 5 years to increase connectivity, which will make freight transportation cheaper and pollution free.

10. 7% GDP growth target and 16th Finance Commission

The government has set a target of GDP growth of 7% for the financial year 2026-27. The Finance Minister also mentioned the report of the 16th Finance Commission, which will make the revenue sharing between the Center and the states more transparent and equitable.

Budget 2026 clearly seems to strike a balance between new technology (AI and semiconductors) and healing old wounds (expensive medicines and lack of infrastructure). It has been prepared keeping in mind both the pockets of the middle class and the pace of the country.

Budget 2026: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget 2026-27 today in the newly constructed ‘Kartavya Bhawan’. In this budget presented amid global uncertainties, the government has indicated a major strategic change in governance and economic planning. In his address, the Finance Minister outlined the ‘Three Duties’ (Kartavya), which will be the basis of the government’s roadmap for the upcoming financial year.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman clarified that the government will focus on three goals to realize the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

What are these three duties of government?

Economic Sovereignty and Development: The first duty is to accelerate and sustain economic growth by enhancing productivity and competitiveness, so that India’s economy remains resilient amid global fluctuations.

Fulfillment of people’s aspirations: The second duty is to fulfill the aspirations of the citizens and build their capacity, so that they can become strong partners in the prosperity of the country.

Equitable Distribution of Resources: The third duty is to ensure that every family, community and region has access to resources and opportunities, so that the goal of inclusive development can be achieved.

This time’s budget is also being considered special because it is his ninth consecutive budget. With this achievement, she has become one of the few finance ministers who have presented the budget the most number of times.

The importance of the budget increased from political and economic point of view

People’s expectations from this budget have also increased a lot. The possibility of new announcements for farmers, students and middle class is being expressed. Apart from this, indications from the Economic Survey have shown that in this time’s budget the government can focus more on areas like employment, development and social security. Apart from this, big announcements can also be made for some election states, due to which the importance of the budget has increased from both political and economic point of view.

Experts believe that these goals announced from ‘Kartavya Bhawan’ will not only bring economic stability but will also strengthen the social infrastructure. This budget is being considered as a decisive step towards making India a ‘developed India’ by 2047.

Before the budget, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra gave a big statement saying that she does not have much expectations from this budget, but let’s see what happens.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said this

On Union Budget 2026, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that everyone is waiting to hear what the Finance Minister announces. He said that the economic survey has predicted good economic growth, but the real question is whether employment will also be created with this growth. Shashi Tharoor said that growth without employment does not benefit anyone. He stressed that it will be important to see what plans the government has to generate more employment for the youth of the country. Along with this, he said that elections are coming in Kerala and everyone will keep an eye on what benefits the central government provides there.

Akhilesh Yadav took aim

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, while targeting the government, said that what should be expected from the budget of a government from which there is no hope. He said that this budget is made only for 5 percent of the people and raised the question whether the government has lived up to the promises made in its manifesto or not.

‘There are very serious and sensitive challenges in the economy’

Congress MP Manish Tewari said, “There are very serious and sensitive challenges in the Indian economy. Nominal GDP has been declining for the last decade. Private investment is not happening. GDA is not coming. It is expected that the Finance Minister will accept this and make a roadmap on this.”

The Government of India now wants that Made in India should not remain just a slogan, but should become a ground reality. Before Union Budget 2026, the government will spend approximately Rs. Working on incentive packages worth Rs 23,000 crore. The objective of these schemes is to increase manufacturing in the country and reduce dependence on imports. The biggest package is being prepared for the construction equipment sector, so that heavy machines like tunnel boring machines and cranes can be made in India. There will be emphasis on local production of advanced components, safety systems and sensors for the auto sector. This can provide huge benefits to domestic companies, exports and the overall economy.

2025 proved to be a turning point for the global economy. As inflationary pressure subsided, central banks had an opportunity to support growth.

In this video we understand why RBI and US Federal Reserve cut interest rates in 2025 and what effect it had on the economy. Taking advantage of low inflation, RBI in India cut the repo rate by a total of 125 basis points, which made borrowing cheaper and boosted consumption.

Inflation fell to a record low 0.25% in October 2025, giving space for aggressive monetary easing. At the same time, due to labor market slowdown in America, the Federal Reserve started rate cuts again in the second half of 2025. The impact of these policies was clearly visible on loans, investments and overall economic activity.

US President Donald Trump has once again given a big statement regarding his tariff policy. Trump has said that soon every citizen of America (except the rich) will be paid $2,000. This amount will be given from the tariff revenue collected by his administration.

“People who are against tariffs are fools!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. He claimed that during his tenure, America became the richest and most respected country in the world, where inflation was very low and the stock market had touched record highs.

Trump made a big claim

Trump also said that the US is earning trillions of dollars from tariffs, which will not only be used to reduce the $37 trillion national debt, but will also be distributed as dividends among ordinary citizens. According to him, every American (except high-income group) will soon get an amount of at least $2,000.

What did Trump write in his post?

He also mentioned the record-breaking achievements of the American economy in his post. Trump wrote, “401K (retirement savings) are at an all-time high. New plants and factories are being built across the country.” However, Trump has not given any clear information regarding the process or timeline for implementing this plan.

US Finance Secretary had said this

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant told CNBC in August that the administration is focused on reducing the $38.12 trillion national debt, for which tariff revenues are being used.

This statement comes at a time when the US Supreme Court is investigating whether Trump had misused his executive powers and imposed overly broad tariffs. Trump described this court investigation as completely baseless and said that tariffs are his most powerful economic weapon. Trump said, “We are earning trillions of dollars. This policy is making America strong, prosperous and self-reliant.”

Donald Trump has imposed 50% tariff on India’s exports, which will directly affect Indian exporters and workers and can pose a threat to millions of jobs. However, the Modi government has prepared a strategy to deal with this situation. Like the relief schemes implemented during the Kovid lockdown, people and businesses will be given relief through new schemes. Also, work on long -term strategies to find a new market from America and strengthen the global supply chain is going on.

According to the report of Hindustan Times, two senior officials said that the government is first focusing on finding a solution to the cash crisis. Along with this, work is being done on covid-style schemes to save export and employment. Trump’s tariff can cause many problems, such as delay in payment, non -supply of goods, or cancellation of order. The aim of the government is that the exporters should be given necessary relief to continue the operation till the new market is discovered.

Government can announce relief package

According to officials, the government can again bring such relief packages like Corona was given during the lockdown. This is especially necessary for small and medium industries because they are facing cash problems. The government will pay attention to schemes like Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS), in which 100% guarantee will be given loans without bail. This will save millions of small and medium industries from bankruptcy. In the lockdown, the same scheme rescued industries even after the industry was closed for 68 days.

Officials said that these schemes can be changed according to the current situation and its needs. The government will provide immediate relief as well as implement schemes in a phased manner so that long-term strategy can also be prepared.
